(00:00) yeah I I had a couple questions written down mostly around kind of the setup and prep going into and best practices in general before going drop yeah um so I was using jansy before and then kind of cancel and took a step away from tickets after the listed changes yeah but I was fortunate enough to make some big sales with uh Taylor Swift here so I really like to scale my setup more yeah so I'm just using SIM cards right now so I was wondering what the best or what SMS service you would recommend and then just kind of pra
(00:36) uh like set up beforehand going into draws yeah sure so you're talking about instead of having SIM cards are you using like a GSM modem or you have a bunch of flip phones or how are you moving those SIM cards around yeah I got a bunch of phones all out and got it so yeah you have uh you have arthritis at the end of every busy day um so you know so are you saying that you're looking to possibly move to like an online SMS provider is that what I'm getting at is that what you're getting at yeah definitely I just want to scale up here
(01:10) cool yeah for sure so um there are two main players uh there's a couple of other people that have popped up but the two main players that have been here pretty much since uh like before the pandemic is uh one is is SE Heroes uh seat like you sit in Heroes like a superhero um the other one is is text chest text like you send chest like a treasure um of those two I would strongly recommend text chest uh reason being uh seat Heroes over you know I believe for My Chemical Romance last week and then for Tate McCrae this week
(01:48) uh uh just really just [ __ ] the bed and just their as their otps uh their numbers were not working at all at drop time they got overloaded whatever the situation is so they were actually offering refunds to people because it was so bad so my my overwhelming recommendation is seat hero I mean uh text chest that is where the majority of my numbers are um I've been using them since like 200 2019 maybe I want to say so like a good chunk of time um and they've rarely had any issues um they might be a dollar or so more expensive but again uh you
(02:30) get what you pay for in my opinion with this and this is one of the more crucial aspects of your operation right now um so you know my that that's my recommendation on on text I mean on text chest and then um you know I think my other piece of recommendation so just just for for a to see what what sandbox we playing and how many numbers how many s cards are you juggling currently um I have about I think like 20ish SIM cards think 23 okay cool yeah okay so that's no small number okay cool yeah geez man yeah I bet you are ready
(03:07) to to to upgrade this thing so yeah I think my biggest obviously if you're juggling 20 SIM cards um this is going to seem like a dream you will probably be able to do you know 30 or 40 I think my biggest my biggest recommendation is just at don't go in and add 100 lines at a time uh start at you know do your 20 that you have maybe plus 10 and then after a month or two of doing that add 10 more uh I don't know the exact quantities that text chest allows you to add under it might be like 25 at a time I'm not sure but my big My overall
(03:48) advice is scale gradually um I'm sure you are feeling yourself and feeling good after Taylor Swift and what you've been doing and no disrespect to that at all but just don't bite off more than you can shoe at once because it doesn't do you any good to have 50 numbers if you can't utilize them and they can't make money for you so um I would just do that gradually is my best advice there um learn that process get comfortable get some buys under your belt get some profit under your belt and then take some of that profit and invest it in a
(04:26) couple you know uh some more numbers over time every two months you're adding however many lines and then eventually uh you can get to a point where you could do one of two things you could either uh hire like a virtual assistant and there there are virtual assistants that are ticket focused ticket Centric and and they are very cheap and efficient obviously that varies assistant to assistant but you can then Outsource them to help you with drops uh and so now you have 30 accounts you can take 15 they can take 15 or you can take
(05:05) 20 they can take 10 and all of a sudden you're starting to acquire more inventory and that is kind of how you should scale but you should aim to do that over the next 12 months instead of over the next 12 days okay that makes sense thank you yeah um you know if you don't want to go virtual assistant obviously if there are people in your Discord uh orbit you know there are always people who are short on cash flow and and they want to buy for somebody else um so those people are floating around Discord as well uh and
(05:40) and so you know just when you get there once you scale up to the point where you have more accounts then you can actually use on a busy drop um then you would want to start looking into scaling up how many hands are physically helping you with an on sale um and then with that the the non seexy part of that is is just making sure that as you're scaling you are number one are you US based I assume or no I'm Canadian okay well I don't know anything about y'all's taxes but whatever my recommendation here was just going to be make sure that
(06:18) that you just keep keep your ducks in a row like uh paperwork wise you do not want to get to the end of the year and everything be a mess so uh you're not you know I would certainly look into possibly start using QuickBooks um at the beginning of the year it's a lot easier to do it starting in a new year uh even if you're not big enough you think to use QuickBooks as you scale it will help you scale in the form of being organized is never a Bad Thing uh so I don't know what your current behind the scenes thing looks like if you're not
(06:53) looking for advice on that then just tell me to shut up but that is one of the things that people often forget about with scaling is the paperwork Associated uh and keeping track and being organized about everything um and that's even down to like spreadsheets with your accounts and your purchases you should have you know a manual uh spreadsheet that just a basic spr that logs your purchases so that you make sure that everything you buy actually gets pulled in once you start buying a lot of tickets um it's very easy to gloss over
(07:30) uh to gloss over something not getting pulled into listed and and then you don't realize it until after the events already happen and you eat tickets that you that you shouldn't have eaten just because you weren't organized so if you if you are going to scale up just make sure that your systems that you have in place behind the curtain scale up as well so that you stay organized and and you don't overwhelm yourself bya disorganization as you start scaling up I don't know if that's helpful advice or not but I just thought I'd throw it out
(08:04) there no no that that's super helpful I really appreciate that and sorry to backtrack here a little bit I know you mentioned GSM modems I've had to do quite a bit of research into that and try to look it up and I've like I've seen them all over AliExpress but it seems pretty technical to set up like is this something that's an option or do you need to be super Advanced I will say this uh I said this before I am I joke that I'm a boomer I'm not really a boomer but I'm older than your average Discord user I am not quite
(08:37) uh like I could never do sneaker botting because like I just wasn't technologically advanced enough the issue with the GSM modems uh I used to have a a room in my office pre pandemic and it was just nothing but like six shelving units with like multiple GSM modems on each one um we stop using GSM modems because not only you do it does require a little bit of technical knowledge but also there's there's no support you can't just open a ticket and have someone help you it's kind of you're on your own to figure out how it
(09:14) all works and if you're not technologically advanced or you don't enjoy fixing problems which you know Hardware problems those are those are that's not my specialty um it just became annoying and overwhelming uh so if you if you are a person that when something breaks hardware-wise you can fix it on your own and don't need to don't need to Outsource help for that then it would probably be fine uh but for me personally I'm not at that level and so I pay a little extra so that someone can essentially do it for me uh
(09:51) because that's just not what I'm good at so that kind of yeah that's the biggest thing is just there's no instruction manual there's no support team if something breaks you got to figure out how to fix it okay that makes sense and and like in your experience like are you just plugging like obviously there's the whole set of everything that goes into it but how are you actually receiving the text like is it is it just displayed in like a console or something like that uh so the the GSM modem actually has it's not an HDMI port I don't know what
(10:22) port it is but it has a port to connect to your computer and so there is software that you download onto your computer and it it is able to read those text messages like as you would read like an iMessage on a on a Mac or something uh so it basically it comes in like that um so yeah I mean and again yeah you're literally just taking those SIM cards and and popping them in the slot and you know the GSM modem has 25 slots or 50 or 100 or 500 slots um you you know and so could theoretically load 15 or 20 of them at a time and get
(11:06) all of them to retext to you at the at at the same time versus having to do it one by one but there is still manual labor like involved um if a slot is not working for whatever reason at that moment you'd have to switch it and that sort of stuff keeping track of those SIM cards I used to use a baseball card binder and so each uh slot was had like a sticky note like a sticker on it with the phone number uh and the name of the account and the email um that's how I kept mine organized but again it's just it's a lot
(11:40) of leg work it really comes down to uh you know what is the value of that leg work to you what is the value of having to fix that GSM modem when something breaks uh if you're good at that then it's probably low value to you and you would have no problem problem with it for me it was a little out of my leag technologically and so the the value of paying for Tex chess was was more than worth the aggravation of not being able to fix problems like that okay yeah it sounds like it's a little bit out of my league right now
(12:16) maybe it's something I'll I'll do some research and work towards here yeah and just you know I don't I don't know what the current landscape is but I will say that uh we bought ours in Alibaba um so that used to be the only place you could get them I don't know if there's other places you can get them now but that is where we used to buy ours was off off of Alibaba which just made the whole thing infinitely more sketchy um also you know something else to consider is that it is a physical piece of equipment and it's not I'm
(12:51) trying to think of like what to compare it to um but it's a it's a decent size piece of equipment I mean it's fits on a desk or something but it does take up space and it's it's the size of like you know you're an average uh it's you know a couple of laptops put together like lengthwise so J something else to keep in mind I don't know what your space situation is but it does take up a little bit of space and something to consider especially if you get more than one um another thing I want to ask you if you don't mind I I don't mean to like
(13:28) take over you no my dude that this is fantastic this is what I if I could do this every time where I literally just hone in on what one person needs and we can work one-on-one with them because like a lot of you know I know I ramble but a lot of times I'm rambling and it it only hits for a you know a person or two instead of everybody so anyway you're you're totally good any question you have I will answer you as thoroughly as I can okay thank you um so my question was when you're doing setup like the night before or morning of or
(14:01) whatever you're doing is it is there like a best practice you should be doing cuz I feel like I'm running into a lot of logging issues and I'm not sure if they're like proxy related jansy related it's it's hard to to get all my accounts logged in yeah so that is a that's a really common problem right now um I don't really have a great answer for it uh I will tell you that there are many mornings that like I will start off trying to get 40 accounts in queue and I will end up with like stick um that's a very common occurrence lately the
(14:36) password reset stuff is out of control the the best advice I can give you is look the security on every aspect of the Ticket Master website was turned up Sky High because of the Taylor Swift tickets being stolen and the fraud that was happening and stuff like that my hope is that you know this tailor tour is over on December the 8th I am hoping after that when we roll into January the security and like they will use the holiday break to like fix the site because typically there are there are very few if any on sales between like
(15:14) the middle of December in the middle of January because everybody's kind of doing holiday stuff I am hoping they fix the security stuff that they have [ __ ] up on the back end where literally you cannot sneeze without having to change your password um so my best advice right now is just kind of stay patient on that I know it's aggravating as [ __ ] right now um we're kind of in New Territory there's never been a time where like you just haven't been able to log into your account um and it's changing every single day so one you know I'm sure
(15:48) you've experienced one day jansy will work really great and the next day jansy is literally useless I dealt with that yesterday with Insomniac uh I could not get anything Insomniac to load all day long no matter what kind of Proxes I used or what I did so stay patient there I know it's aggravating my hope my fingers are crossed that once Taylor's in the rear view uh we will start to get back to a seminormal just security I'm not talking about the otps via phone only I think that's here to stay but I do I would hope that just the general
(16:25) like having to reset your password you know 15 times a day and stuff that that kind of stuff would hopefully get toned down a little bit once we get through Taylor Swift okay yeah that makes sense I know it's not super helpful but like I'm going through the same thing we all are and one thing that I wanted to talk about tonight that you know just really uh goes hand inand with this is something else to consider is if you're having this many issues logging into accounts your other competition probably is too and I think that's something that
(16:59) really needs to be considered uh especially right now while things are just so [ __ ] up because uh it the domino effect here is that people are not getting all their resources logged in they're not able to navigate and buy through the site that they normally are or normally are used to and so like the number of tickets on resale is Mega low right now which is leading to a lot of high prices because the the ability to acquire inventory right now is probably harder than it's ever been in the history of tickets on the
(17:35) internet and so you have stadium shows My Chemical Romance in New Jersey that have like 2,000 tickets on StubHub where there would normally be seven eight ,000 tickets and I just think that's it's important to keep in mind that if you're having a tough time other people are having a tough time too and so the inventory that you do acquire pay attention to those ticket counts because I think a lot of stuff that's going on sale now that's happening next spring and summer like months and months away I think there will be a lot of Tours next
(18:11) year that will have low inventory closer to the show because of all the in because of the acquisition of inventory problems that we're having right now if that makes sense yeah yeah that definitely makes sense I feel like that's already I've noticed that already with some Le shows even with I absolutely yeah I mean yeah you take some of those shows and like you fast forward two or three months especially after the you know with the holidays tickets are a huge holiday gift and I think a lot of these tours are going to
(18:39) be really thin on the secondary we could see some explosions and prices for some of these tours that are happening next year yeah totally which for people that you know have the stomach for it like you do we've obviously talked about the potential problems of buying on the secondary but keeping what we just talked about in mind it's certainly worth looking at some of these big tours that just went on sale My Chemical Romance Tyle the Creator tapate McCrae uh these shows and looking at some of these shows that have really low ticket
(19:18) counts uh looking at when the show happens and how far away it is and making some secondary plays with the assumption that those shows are going to get really thin closer to show time I lose you are you here no you're sorry I'm back here I stepped away for one second you're good yeah that that totally makes sense I get totally see where you're um yeah go ahead sorry oh I'm S I was gonna ask you another question if you don't mind absolutely um so like let's say there's no or just say I have like 20 accounts and I can
(20:05) get all 20 in every time I feel like my 20 accounts have just been like shot from the que and I know Q is totally speculation and there's yep um but obviously resting accounts eventually does something for them you you have a suggestion for like if I have 20 accounts do I be trying to get all 20 in every time or should I be like letting 10 for a month and then like rotating Us in two groups well so from what I have observed I don't believe that just entering the queue has an effect on your queue position I believe that that is
(20:40) affected more by tickets you're checking out on whether you transfer them at the actual Behavior post purchase than the behavior pre- purchase um that is not solid fact that is just Bro Science from the desk of me um but that is kind of what I observed here is what here's my suggestion for you my suggestion for you if you are about to venture into the um the you know the the the world of text chest right you're about to acquire some brand new phone numbers my suggestion for you is rather than stick these phone numbers on the
(21:22) accounts that you already have I would suggest creating new Ticket Master account and um creating new Ticket Master accounts uh you can look up ways to like uh create gmail with like high score there's a there's a score there's like an antibot I need to get the the exact name for you I'm blanking on it but there's essentially a system where an account a Gmail account is ranked based on how human it appears and there a process and things you can do when you create the account to make it seem more human and give it a higher score and I
(22:06) do think that score some of the antibot stuff The Ticket Master has on the back end does factor that Gmail human score when it is assigning Q positions and so I think it you know the holiday break would be a great time to uh carefully uh strategically create some new Ticket Master accounts and stick maybe not all of them because don't stick all your eggs in one basket right but maybe half of them or 2third of these numbers that you're going to acquire uh maybe assigning them to some of these new strategic accounts I will
(22:43) say that I have had some some decent success with new accounts this year uh obviously that is not like solid fact but that's just something I've experienced so don't be afraid of new accounts but there there are ways to strategically create those accounts um and and if you want to get my DMs later we can kind of B bounce ideas back and forth on that I would need to pull up some of that stuff uh myself because admittedly I am not the one that creates my Gmail accounts um but anyway that is kind of a strategy that I would consider
(23:19) for you if you're about to kind of start with something fresh a little bit you might as well at least go partially all the way fresh with a brand new Ticket Master account to go with some of those brand new phone numbers wow yeah I I had no idea the Gmail score effects I come from sneaker body originally so I have there you go okay so you know more about it than I do for sure yeah so I have like the like Gmail farmer where I used to use the Gmail farming software like farming them up to like the 0.9 score or whatever
(23:48) like I never even thought that that could have an effect so I'll definitely try that out and let you know if I have I see any difference absolutely if you were able to farm those Gmail at the 0.9 score my guess is that at least some of those would would event would start to have some decent CU positions and again if you don't have a good que position for the first three weeks like don't get discouraged because as we know uh that Q position isn't going to be that way forever do you mind if I bug you about cancels quick i' I've Heard lots of
(24:23) cancels and I'm I'm just I'm worried about selling like let's say Coldplay that like like early on and having it cancel it's like all of a sudden like a $112,000 busted order or something ridiculous sure yep yep yep yeah so I mean just cancels in general or something specific oh just in general I guess they have what leads C if you know it all or I do I do so I'm in a unique position where some of my my time at Ticket Master the the cancellation stuff did did have did uh did have a part in because well it doesn't matter
(25:01) but some my clients when I was a Ticket Master were big Brokers and so there were times I had to be the liaison between an artist that's cancelling orders uh and some of my clients and trying to keep everybody happy so what I will say is this um first of all all you can do is is protect yourself there's no science to not getting cancelled um and you know a couple of things that I keep keep in mind now you know we're talking about Ticket Master it's a different conversation than if we're talking about pacy Olan or those College websites or
(25:36) ticket web or AXS especially um for for non-ticket master shows you know I think the best thing that you can do especially if you're buying on some of these uh weird you know off-the-cuff websites you if you have the ability with your credit card I don't know what you're using I assume you're using some kind of VCC um or slash or something something but the the best advice I can give you is use a local address if you are able um if you are able to change that billing address on a a virtual credit card uh Google you
(26:11) know condominiums for sale Dallas Texas if you're buying in Tech Dallas and use an actual address that is has a similar zip code to the venue I have found that they are much less likely to cancel uh local orders versus out of state orders um with that said you know it also kind of depends on the artist at the end of the day ticket Master's not uh going through orders for fun uh AXS is not going through orders for the hell of it they are going through orders because the artist or the performer has asked them to specifically so you have your
(26:52) artists that are just more cancel heavy that are just big dicks Zack Bryan um trying to think of other people uh that new guy Zach top that uh everyone's raving about he loves to cancel a lot of country artists love to cancel um because I don't you know they're they're more for the fan etc etc um so you know the the best thing that you can do I think is almost create like a little bible for yourself and as you go through and watch people discuss on Discord chats the here and there if someone is talking about being canceled in the past
(27:35) by an artist like just jot that down as like you know this artist might be C you know might be cancel prone and then you know after six months or so you may have a nice little Rolodex of a nice collection of data um that about artists that that do or don't cancel um and again there's not really there's not a whole lot you know one thing that I do if I buy a six-pack or something I don't typically list them as a six-pack I will split them into like four and two or three and three um because that it's just anything you can do to make your
(28:16) tickets less identifiable if you are picturing the box office manager is looking at StubHub like if she she's going to be able to easily IDE did there's only so many eight packs that were purchased in a row of 24 you know so like if you're listing all eight of your tickets at one time it's very easy to identify that you know where that eight pack is so anything you can do um I do not broadcast seat numbers um I don't have a problem making up seat numbers uh so that they cannot be identified um but anything that you can
(28:52) do to uh make your tickets less distinguishable um is a good idea there is also a practice called masking your row obviously this only applies to uh reserved shows but it's exactly what you think it is uh if you have section 101 row 2023 you would sell them as section 101 row 25 and that way uh the customers getting a two row upgrade your exact locations never made it out to the the changes to the public and you know that can that can also kind of help you hide in the shadows a little bit but again it it's really tough because
(29:41) cancellations there have been more cancellations in the last month then like I had experienced any of my 20 years up until like up until this year this year has been the year of cancels I don't know what's triggered Ed it I think it's just the overall high prices on secondary for a lot of these big tours post pandemic has made fans pissed off and it's made them more vocal with social media and it's kind of a drip down effect from there but um my best advice is anything that you can think of to help your tickets hide in the bushes a little bit
(30:21) without compromising anything about your tickets right you don't want to man you don't want to list them as row 19 if they're actually row you know row uh I don't know don't don't don't blatantly lie and and create a bigger problem for yourself but anything small that you can do to help your your order uh not be identified when they're listed on you know on a public exchange um that kind of stuff I know it's not a great answer but the cancellation thing also I would certainly get in the habit of at least waiting you
(31:05) know a little bit of time if you're buying eight or 10 tickets maybe only sell four right away that way if you do get a cancellation it's not you know you've only got so many orders to handle versus every single ticket you bought um so you know just little stuff my My overall advice for most things is don't put all your eggs in one basket whether it's Investments or what you're what city you're buying or whatever spread your [ __ ] out a little bit um I play roulette a lot and so you know I spread my [ __ ] out because it gives me a better
(31:41) chance to win something um so that's kind of how I I approach a lot of this stuff is trial and error but not all one trial and hopefully not all one error hey thank you very much I I really appreciate appreciate all the advice I think that's that's all the questions I have right now I just bombarded you with questions for a little bit but I'll let you know here if anything pops up no I mean honestly like the big thing I was going to talk about was the inventory thing and I think one of your questions led into that really like really well
(32:14) and and again you know I I would rather tailor these answers to to one person to help them specifically then then give an answer that that most people don't find useful so um trying to think uh oh you know just because you're here here is something that I really like that you can take a look at um earlier today obviously there's this post Malone jelly roll stadium tour that's going on free sale tomorrow um I'm not real high on the tour in like football stadiums I just think that's a lot of seats um but some of these some of these baseball
(32:55) stadiums I really like and uh I'm a cub season ticket holder and so they had a season ticket uh pre-sale for season ticket holders today and um one thing that I really really like it goes on public sale next Tuesday at 100 PM Eastern uh there are $992 200 level seats at Wrigley uh that uh I think are really great I think that's you know the price break there I think it drops from like 17 9 uh in the front half of the 200 level down to $99 for like rows 15 and above and that goes all the way around the diamond so
(33:39) next Tuesday uh if you Google post Malone Wrigley it's like the fourth link down but yeah next Tuesday 1:00 um it will probably go under a lot of people's radar because it's not on Ticket Master I think that's a great play next Tuesday so if you're looking for something to buy off the radar next Tuesday that's my pick and that is is your reward for being here and being Mega engaged thank you I appreciate is Wrigley just another um like site to to buy tickets on oh I'm sorry talking grigley field like the uh baseball
(34:11) stadium in Chicago yeah yeah yeah yeah so he's yeah so jelly roll and post Malone at Wrigley Field I'm local to Chicago so I have a decent knowledge about Wrigley shows and the like but yeah that's a uh that's a great play next week and it it may not pop up on everybody's rar especially being Thanksgiving week yeah I'll 100% cue that thank you absolutely um that is kind of all I had if you have anything else but like I think we've done a real we've gotten we plowed through a lot of stuff um you asked some really great questions that
(34:49) that uh allowed me to produce some some really uh helpful answers I think so um if with that said I would love to put a bow on it right here obviously we can you know my DMs are always open and listen just to be honest with you like you are one of the people on Discord that that do your own research you you look into [ __ ] for yourself you come you wrote down questions for tonight like that that alone shows me like you give a [ __ ] so like my DMs are always open for somebody like you I will do anything I can to help someone like you because you
(35:24) are willing to put in the work and like not just want to be spooned fed uh you know this on sale on this exact City and that sort of stuff so please if you have questions DM me you're never bothering me um I will respond when I can but like I am always happy to help someone who is willing to help themselves and I sound like my [ __ ] father saying that and I apologize but you know what I mean like you're willing to put in the work and I have a lot of respect for that so like you know any any questions you ever have
