In the last few months, YouTube has changed their TOS and made it so that you cannot utilize YouTube if you have an ad blocker installed. You can deal with the ads, pay for YouTube premium or you can look at other free options to get rid of the annoying ads. Below we have shared some of our favorite tried and true methods of blocking ads on YouTube for free. We will update this list periodically as some methods stop working or we discover more methods. Alternative Browsers Alternative browsers are my favorite and one of the easiest methods to get rid of YouTube ads. You can utilize a browser like , which is a privacy based privacy, which will automatically block all ads for you. It is also based on the Chromium system (the same system that Google Chrome is built on), so you can easily import your settings, extensions, bookmarks etc. Extensions You may have noticed your favorite ad blocker extension no longer works on YouTube or YouTube simply will not load if you have it active. It appears that YouTube has blocked many of the popular ad blockers but there are still some that work including:
