What Is Address Jigging?

We've all been there - a regular retailer that we use for reselling starts to cancel our orders or we cannot buy more than a few units for a limited edition drop because of order limits. This can be extremely frustrating but there is a way around it; address jigging. Address jigging is a technique of modifying, or "jigging" your address to circumvent the "1 per customer" or general order restrictions established by websites by making minor changes to it that can bypass standard system detections for address re-use. With address jigging, you can gain the ability to acquire more than the listed limits from a retailer and sometimes activate new accounts with retailers who previously shut you down or continue to cancel your orders. The reason why it works is because many retailers systems can not detect/block your purchases when it see's a different address as it believes the order is coming from a different person. Address jigging does not always work as it is dependent on each retailers detection systems but in many cases, it does. It's important to keep in mind that while address jigging can enable you to make multiple purchases, you'll also likely need to utilize a different payment card for each transaction (see our post on Virtual Credit Cards for reference), a different email address (see our Catchall Email post) & in many cases, utilize a VPN as many retailers block orders by IP address. Another important thing to keep in mind is that if detected, some retailers may completely refuse to sell to you/block all of your purchases so this is typically a method only recommended for those retailers that have already shut you down or for those drops that you REALLY want to secure additional units for. Just always keep in mind that utillizing this method may result in unfullfiled orders.
