What is a catchall email and why do I need one? Note: having a catchall email is not free and it does come with a small monthly cost. In total with the email and domain it will cost you around $10 or so per month. Using a "catchall" email is another step you can utilize to getting past order restrictions/limitations. Using a catchall email is simply a better, more efficient way to gain multiple email addresses (via email aliases) without having to go through the steps of creating new/additional emails. Essentially you are forwarding all emails sent to your own specific domain (or website) to one general inbox. That means if you set up a main inbox for yourname@yourdomain.com, any email sent to any email address @yourdomain.com will come to your main inbox, even if those email addresses do not exist. Another popular method that is used a lot instead of a catchall email is using the "Gmail tricks" such as putting a "." in a random spot of your email address (instead of youremail@gmail.com, you use your.email@gmail.com) or using the "+ plus random text" at the end of your email (instead of youremail@gmail.com, you use youremail+1@gmail.com). Both of those methods work to essentially give you "unlimited" different email addresses as Gmail does not factor these things in regular email addresses, making any email sent to these "trick" addresses actually route to your main email, however many retailers' detection systems have picked up on this, thus the reason for a catchall email. How to setup a catchall email with Google
Acquire a Domain: Begin the process by acquiring a domain. For optimal results, opt for a domain ending in .com. This choice minimizes the likelihood of errors or filtering by websites that could potentially lead to order cancellations. You can purchase your domain through many different websites such as , & or any other site of your choice. When proceeding through the checkout process, if offered email services simply decline them as we will be setting up a catchall directly through Google.
If you do not already have a professional/paid Google account, set up an account with . For this purpose, the Business Starter option will work fine. When setting up, it will prompt you to input/connect your domain.
For the remainder of steps to get the catchall set up, you can follow directly from Google Now, any email sent to any address to your domain will be sent to your main email address. You can test it out by sending yourself an email to a random address @yourdomain.com - if it was done correctly, you should receive your test email no matter what address you use as long as it has your domain after the @.
