(00:00) nice to meet everyone thank you all uh for having me little background my name is Leo i run sales and partnerships over at Ven been here for about 2 and 1/2 years super excited to speak to the group today about you know opportunities as well as what we offer and how we specialize in supporting resellers and and smaller businesses like yourselves um little housekeeping jordan and I were speaking a little bit before this if you have questions you can go about it really in any way you'd like i'm happy to keep it super casual you can hop on
(00:31) or or put them in the chat and hopefully we'll be able to answer everyone's questions quick agenda for today i'll give just a brief background on who we are what we do who we work with some similar customers we'll spend the majority of the the webinar in a demo um and then we'll go over pricing the promotion we're offering and and a little time for for Q&A but I would be the the manager on this account per se so even if you're not asking questions today I'm I'm happy to answer them a little bit afterwards so little background on why
(01:09) we exist I guess you could say um I'm sure all of you know we're using a variety of different banks software solutions things are fragmented across the market and they're costly i know Jordan was just mentioning like the the fees on PayPal the fees whether you're using Canadian banks it can be up to 1 and a half to 3% on foreign exchange uh USD accounts at the big banks are pretty costly wise i they offer them for free or they used to but I I imagine now uh they're not even offering USD accounts to Canadian companies anymore so
(01:43) opportunities there you guys are all running online businesses i'm sure you have other jobs as well um so there's crossber challenges there's branch visits you don't have time to make so those are just some of the challenges that that we're solving back background on the the company itself uh we have two founders they were the two first employees actually at COO um then they went to Revolute if you guys are aware about that company but $80 billion financial company in the UK they were actually the the two people who looked after the
(02:18) expansion to Canada so got familiar with the market started Vault in 2022 raised a small amount of cash from Google $5 million to try out the digital banking space in Canada last year we we totaled about 4,000 customers converted almost a billion dollars and and processed over a billion in payments so safe to say there was a market for this and then just about a month ago we raised 20 million from Intac and left lane and rebranded to vent so foreign exchange US accounts accounts in multiple currencies crossber payments
(03:01) similar to wise just a little bit cheaper um corporate cards the ability to issue as many as you'd like with any address and unlimited 1% cash back but 2% for this partnership in the first month and quite a bit more for the 4,000 customers we do have using us I thought I'd pull in some logos of what might be some notable companies for you guys um Kangaroo Tickets like a a ticket shop here in Toronto Venue Kings and Freightcom um we work very closely with Freaycom and I'm not sure if there's anyone here who's
(03:38) using them but I I believe I've seen multiple ticket brokers at least on our platform or Amazon sellers using their services as well so thought that might be a notable logo to point out here any uh any questions so far on the background who we are who we support if anyone has any questions you can feel free to hop on the mic or of course put anything in the voice chat chat uh but yeah just to mention about Leo with the ticket reseller specifically um scaling multiple like ticket master accounts and whatnot a major
(04:19) um pain point that a lot of ticket resellers have is gaining access to multiple different virtual credit cards because in Canada it's kind of pain in the ass and we need unique cards for every single account that we have so it's nice to have that option yeah no definitely definitely i I personally have one customer who I think has 6,000 cards so it's it's really however many cards you want to set up um we like we can set up as many cards as you'd like you can use whatever address it it really doesn't matter to us how
(04:50) you go about setting that up when you mention I just had a quick question here when you mentioned about setting up cards uh are we able to set up cards instantaneously in the platform or do you guys have to set it up on our behalf yep instantaneously in the platform um and we can actually just hop over to the demo i think that might be most valuable and I can show you exactly how we would do that uh IQ in the chat just had a question here and just asked "Are your cards prepaid cards or what type of cards are they?" Yeah so the cards work
(05:21) as prepaid cards you need funds in the account in order to use them unlike a standard prepaid card you're not actually putting money on the individual card you're more so just deciding how much this card is allowed to spend um so or debiting your balance right at the time of the transaction and I'm just curious because we're here and talking about it are there any type of fraud protections that are offered for these virtual credit cards yeah we we follow Mastercard zero liability policy um so happy to share that in its detail um after the call
(06:00) probably more valuable than me going over it but it's the Oh go ahead oh no i was just laughing oh here what would be the best place for me to see Oh here I got these chats uh for billing does the card allow random USA billing as well yeah definitely that's a a key reason at least to my knowledge that brokers sign up the way that we manage it is and I'll just take you through the process so you come into the card section create new card virtual who's the card for any of your users what's the name of the card let's just
(06:34) say it's ticket master one and let's say we want this card to spend up to $10,000 this year in USD if I issue this card and I use this card online with ticket master the only thing that we care about matching with ticket master is the actual number and these numbers itself nothing else on our side plays a factor so you can use any fake name or fake address that you want because we are the ones approving the transaction so we'll approve it if the card number is accurate and if there are enough funds in the account
(07:15) beautiful does that make sense there do you want me to double down on anything i know that's like a key pain point iq is just typing in the chat here so we'll find out here shortly great questions IQ keep in common as well yeah great question so physical cards as well on our top plan um and we'll go over pricing at the end but on the top plan there's no limit to how many physical cards you can set up the process is exactly the same as far as creating them with the only difference being that if I just go test that you
(07:54) would set the PIN before shipping it but when we do ship it to you and you activate it it'll live in this dashboard as well only difference is they have a physical copy for anybody that's just joining because I know we have a couple people that just popped in here uh Leo is currently sharing his screen so make sure you hop on here and we're just kind of going through a demo of what Ven offers awesome i see question from Anthony regarding transfers i'm more than happy to move into transfers now but I just want to make
(08:32) sure that we we answer all the questions on the cards first i think that might make more sense and then we'll move over to to transfers Anthony and I can answer your question um limit for instore purchases for the physical cards in short IQ no no limit do we have to load the cards with funds or can it pull directly from the bank account i think that might be a good place to go so the answer is load directly pull directly from the bank account there's three different ways to get money into these accounts or four I
(09:02) should say the first is some people hook them up to like let's say they hook up the US account which is held in the United States to I think it's called automatic or like listed um and they'll have the the funds deposit directly into this account same day or next business day so that's option A option B is you hook up one of these accounts to your payment processor and have whether that be Amazon PayPal or or Stripe and the funds flow directly into the corresponding account US or CAD third method you can link a bank
(09:40) account and load money into the account via pre-authorized debit the amount you can load is dependent on the balance that you hold and then the final step if you're just starting out with the platform maybe you just want to test this out for a couple purchases like you do get your own e transfer email so you can send money to the account that way we'll pause there just want to make sure that was clear as far as getting money into the account in order to use the cards and shortly to to send transfers i uh I told you Leo that our
(10:16) members come with good questions yeah no these are great questions um so Draymond let me know if I answered that correctly uh so as long as the funds are in store purchases will always go through yep correct the only thing once again that matters is is the card activated if it's online is it the right numbers um and then if it's in person do you have enough funds anthony don't worry we make exceptions for our partnership so we'll we'll still onboard you um locked in regarding card statements can we produce statements per each card will the name
(10:49) and address appear yeah you can but it wouldn't be necessarily in the form of a statement you would pull let's just say let's go all accounts for all time and maybe we want to go transaction type card purchase like you could pull CSVs of transactions that took place which would include like vendor address the name on the card um but it wouldn't be in the form of an actual statement if you wanted to pull all of your cards that would be manual um right now yeah all good nice you guys have any websites that your cards do not work
(11:32) on i'm not too familiar with the the acronym but I believe Foot Locker doesn't work because they require like I think it's called 3DS um I'm not totally familiar with it but I I do know that all of the resellers using us foot Locker is the only one where we have trouble with i know it's because of 3DS but I I don't quite honestly know exactly what that means if that's all right guys are just hammering in questions see it i appreciate you answering the questions yeah no problem jordan from your understanding is there
(12:18) anything that you're curious about with the cards that maybe I haven't touched on that you would like some insight into so I am kind of curious just because you kind of mentioned it at the top of the conversation about like overseas employees just getting like cards instead of wire transfers is that the way I've Oh go ahead oh go ahead i was going to say the the way I've seen it set up and only some businesses do this but if their overseas employee is willing to do it this way it is the right approach because you'll earn cash
(12:54) back on your salary or wage payment to these overseas employees but what they'll do is first they'll come into the team management setting and they'll create let's say your overseas employee name is let's just use like John Smith right and they're in the Philippines and you want to pay them via card and you've agreed that you're going to pay them let's just do Leo John continue you're going to pay them 500 bucks monthly in USD you issue them a vual card standard with the name of let's say paycheck and you give them that monthly
(13:38) limit of $500 they come into your event account they can only see their own card and their own transactions nothing else cuz they're technically an employee you send them the invitation the invitation goes with the card they can use the card online to make purchases and spend their paycheck um but I also know that like this isn't ideal for lots of contractors it's just the ones who are will willing to do it this way like it's of benefit to your business is you'll earn the cash back well and so when they have like
(14:10) that physical like another question would I be able to issue them a card like that in currencies other than uh Canadian dollars and US dollars like do you guys support Filipino pesos by chance yeah that's a great question so all that this this currency means right here is what is the real limit of the card it's not actually saying that this card can only spend in USD the way that our cards work is at the time of the transaction will pull from the corresponding currency balance that matches that transaction so I'll give
(14:48) two examples let's say you're buying tickets on ticket master in USD at the time of the purchase if you hold a US balance we'll debit that account so you don't pay any foreign exchange but if you use the example where you're giving it to a contractor in the Philippines you obviously don't hold Filipino pesos so what we'll do is we'll debit your Canadian account and we'll charge you our foreign exchange which we can that might be a perfect time to go into it is for reference 0.
(15:20) 25% um so just a little bit cheaper than Wise if they're using PHP so let's say they're not going to accept the virtual card but we want to see what the foreign exchange rate might be we come in to pay this vendor looks probably pretty similar to Wise it's still $500 we charge $6 CAD for the wire to the Philippines as well as the wire anywhere outside of Canada US Europe or the UK here's the markup of 0.
(15:56) 25 built into the exchange rate that we pull every 5 seconds here's your wire transfer fee converted to US but just to keep in mind this is on my demo account you guys would be paying $6 hit continue here's a breakdown maybe you have an invoice number for this contractor maybe you want them to get an email when the money's sent and then you're good to go um but that was that was a ton of stuff so I'm sure you guys have some questions okay cool that makes sense though Jordan as far as like the how the conversion would work on the card if you gave it to them as
(16:34) well as how it would work if you sent them a transfer yep nice um just because we're in the realm and I'm not quite sure if we answered it uh I want to come back to make sure that Anony's question is answered there um about the can you do swift transfer to US suppliers from Canadian to USD in one go without limit can you do swift transfers suppliers from KD yes i'd probably recommend you do an a if they accept it though um but you can do either or anthony do you know if your US suppliers would accept a or or are they Canadian suppliers that are
(17:13) asking for USD i see he's typing yeah AC is fine yeah no limit you can send whatever you hold so if I come in here's my US vendor let's just say it's this one i have them set up for a payment meaning I have their routing number and their account number country the bank currency click send transfer one-time transfer maybe you want to add the invoice if you have QBO or or Zero and you're integrating and then I hold 940,000 so let's just say I want to send 200,000 no fee ac is free and it's same day our next business
(17:55) day yeah rbc Express is they think it's good but it's brutal you also have to pay like 150 to hold a USD account I think also I I know the other part of the question was like if you hold CAD um so the same foreign exchange rate would apply you would type in your $200,000 vendor payment you need to make you pull the money from your CAD account and send it to the supplier in USD because of that it would still be an AC local payment and your fee would be that 0.
(18:41) 25% exchange i integrate QuickBooks with Ven for organization of invoices yes iq can you maybe just clarify when you say invoices like are you setting up payments in QBO first and then you want to categorize them back after they're sent or or what's like the exact use case you're you're referring to yeah exactly okay that's ideal for us so I'd recommend using this tool essentially what you would do is you would set up all your bills like you already do in QBO and then instead of re-entering them going one by one as
(19:21) like recipient payments you just click this button pull in all of your payments so here we're making a payment to aluminum siding here's the invoice that was in QBO here's the number the amount and then you could send it in bulk schedule the release dates to match whatever your payment terms are and then decide on the account you want to pay from like if you're sending money to a Canadian supplier you obviously want to pay from the CAT account if you hold the balance and if you're sending money to a US supplier you and you hold USD you want
(19:57) to send from that account but if you don't hold USD we'll show you the same exchange rate the money will leave Vault in USD but will pull it from your CAD account the best part about this too is you won't even see those transactions in the QuickBooks accounting tab it'll just be autocatategorized back to your accounting software in QBO with everything that was already created when you when you made the bill you guys are better than my like 100 person distributor demos with these questions we're all uh vetted professionals so
(20:40) yeah you guys are locked in are there any other like standard contractor payments or countries that you wanted to see an example on maybe like a e transfer or uh maybe like a a wire to China anything like that usd wire to the US go through JP Morgan Chase um once again Anthony can you send an [Music] a Swift as an example is the question like can you send it to JP Morgan Chase via Swift if that's the question then yeah no problem it would just be the $6 fee oh does it go through no it doesn't go through goes directly to the
(21:40) vendor that does that answer your question nice iq i'm happy to I'm happy to go into plans um but I think it might make the most sense to just do it at the end of the demo u but there isn't that much stuff left to to show so we can we can show that shortly we'll show just a couple other like light examples on transfers um recipients so we send money to the exact same countries Wise does in every currency that they do so nothing you do on there we can't do the key differences on the top plan is the foreign exchange
(22:24) is 10 basis points cheaper and the the wire transfer fee is flat $6 CAD um if you guys want to send money back to yourself that's usually like a key use case maybe you have your receivables flowing into the platform and you want to send yourself back your own salary just set yourself up as a vendor so if this is me this is Leo Catz's TD account and I have a US account at TD i have my Canadian dollar account and if it's a bigger payment I'll send an EFT to myself but if maybe I just want to send myself like 5K I'll send an e transfer
(23:04) for free and it's CAD to CAD so it's pretty simple i would assume that there's also no limits on e transfers right now on e transfers it's a 10k daily limit um and then EFTs is a 250k limit per transfer cool couple other things I'll show you um we kind of touched on it but team management you can bring whoever you want into this account with different levels of restrictions like maybe you're a bigger business and you want somebody coming in and setting up these wire payments for you approved by you you can do that by adding an AP clerk and it
(24:00) would just look like this kirk set up a payment for me and now it's up to me to approve that's one option maybe you have an accountant so you can bring them in with readonly access pull statements um can pull funds and load the account but can't actually send any money or maybe have multiple owners multiple administrators can do everything I showed you last couple pieces um I'm sure you guys all have like your Wealth Simple accounts and you're investing a lot of the cash you're earning these these aren't the most ideal but we have this
(24:36) in place of interest which will hopefully come on the CAD and USD accounts in a quarter or two u so we offer GIC's to everybody the one-year rate is going down because we have some tough government setups but it's 3.35% so better than nothing and just the last piece here on the accounting tab every single transaction you do will be logged here for you to either set up rules if it's ticket purchases i imagine you're always categorizing to the same spot so you could create a rule for that and then all you do is just push it over and
(25:14) we're pulling your chart of accounts right here and you said that this can also sync with zero correct yeah QuickBooks and Zero are the the two integrations we have today awesome if there aren't any other demo related questions I can jump into the partnership and pricing if you guys want i'll take no answer as a yes after a couple seconds anybody have any other questions at all oh we got some ret oh I'll give him a minute and uh Anthony I just wanted to just address because you had mentioned earlier that you had never heard of Vin
(26:14) uh van used to be vault and then they rebranded little uh little background for you on that anthony can you send any transfers from the vault account yeah no problem um you just come over here here's a recipient and then you'll see I have them set up for e transfer we just need a question and answer is a little bit like Payaneer in some capacity like you you have the ability to send money overseas like you do with Payaneer the key differences are the foreign exchange is just much much cheaper and I actually talked to someone
(26:58) today who said they paid a wired fee on Payaneer of like 35 bucks so that's another value ad but the key to our platform I guess versus some others is like you're really just doing everything in one spot your receivables your payables your e transfers your cards your accounting that that's where we tend to add the most value do you guys have any plans in the future on adding any type of traditional cards or uh financing at all yeah that that is the biggest mission right now that along with interest on the accounts um we know
(27:33) like only way to compete especially in the e-commerce space is to offer credit due to just the nature of the business um but there have been a couple companies like Vault or Ven I should say i'm still getting used to that um that have failed by offering credit too quick or lending too quick so we're just taking our time anthony we we're offering uh 0.
(27:57) 25% 25% to the group but anybody in this group who's converting more than 200 grand USD on a monthly basis reach out to me directly and and we're happy to negotiate a a lower rate the GIC's are fixed soon soon enough Anthony oh Anthony you'll be there soon that is right i'm not even lying dude's a machine good on you love that uh I'll share uh I'll share the pricing page now i think it might be a perfect time to move over to that um first we'll just dive into the promotion itself so a couple key things for this for any other customer
(28:57) who uses us we don't support Quebec based businesses and we don't support soul props we're we're willing to forgo that for this partnership so although it's not a financial incentive uh it's a good value ad for the group second and this is more of a short-term aspect to the partnership pending the success of it um so 3 months free from our pro plan which I'll show in just a second so April May and June um but starting today and then 2% cash back until the end of the month just an incentivized testing period of the cards
(29:35) um and what I will say is Jordan and I haven't actually chatted about this but I think what makes the most sense is to set up like touch points couple weeks out month out 2 months out whatever it may be and see how things are going because if if they're going well the the monthly plan is the easiest thing for us to take away like nothing would make me happier than for the partnership to do well and we can offer free $100 a month plans forever to everyone in the group um but I think it from my perspective it'll just take like results on my side
(30:08) to be able to go to the bosses and ask for that um but like not impossible by any means then the the 2% cash back this one I think we're a little bit more tight on for for longer term just because in Canada like we earn 2% on all credit card transactions so we make 1% profit that is our biggest revenue driver and then we pass 1% thereafter back to the customer um so that'll take some tough negotiation but then again like if there's millions coming through I'm sure we can work something out um and then the last piece is just pricing so the
(30:46) the plan that you guys would get and I'll zoom in a little bit and we can go down but you'd get that flat rate of 0.25% which for reference 10 basis points cheaper than wise I think unless you have like 5 10 mil at the bank like it is the cheapest rate you'll find in Canada free local transfers so any payment you're making to Canada the US is free international contractor payments $6 little things like faster payments so AC and EFT is almost always same day you get me as your account manager and then some other things
(31:24) there's no limits on cash back there's no minimum balance um there's $10,000 free of e transfers and am I missing anything here i believe for the purpose of this call that is the most important thing um you'll get the accounting rules as well i guard for last year i'll try my best Draymond it's going to be tough it's going to be tough [Music] dm me on the side um and we can we can talk about it awesome yeah well we we can open it up uh if you guys want just for some final Q&A i know uh I know that was a lot of me talking but we uh I appreciate
(32:18) the time and happy to answer any uh any further questions you guys have anybody have any additional questions at all we've already had quite a bit answered i think uh just the other thing too like I I think I now I'm familiar with uh with Discord um so if you guys do have questions like add me on here shoot me a DM tag me in the group uh I'll put my email in here as well if you guys want to email me directly uh but I'm always I'm always happy to help out i I really want this partnership to work out so I'm I'll do
(33:04) what I can to get you as fast uh customers as I can the the last thing I just want to make sure you guys have access to so you can take advantage of the promo itself me just zoom out here is the actual code you had closed your stream so you either have to restart it or put the code in the chat yeah yeah no I'll uh I'll put the code in the chat here beauty there you go copy link URL cool funny cuz I sell tech but I but I suck at it so I did have an additional question so there's not many in our group but I did specifically have one
(33:42) person ask me uh because they are under 18 and they're wondering about access to uh virtual credit cards so would they qualify assuming that they could have a registered business yeah we we don't care about age um it it just matters if you're if you have a corporation or a soul prop okay cool i don't imagine we'll have probably anybody that's under 18 try to join there's not really anybody that's super young in here uh but I know I had one person that asked yeah yeah just uh even just to keep it short like h we we've
(34:20) onboarded multiple uh teenagers it's really just if they have the corp or not there's no worries anthony you were typing something did you have another question oh it's typing be bad to transfer to ven and log for loans or anything i think like my truly honest reply is I could see the negative implications of that for loans in the future eventually we'll have enough account history with our customers to be able to do the lending ourselves but like if I was in your situation and that was something that I was focused on building up a
(35:05) credit history to acquire from RBC in the in the future I would probably use the vent account more so like a wallet and use it for day-to-day transactions but keep the majority of your your balance with RBC um that's my nonsalesperson answer i got hope one day that we can we can do the landing ourselves but if I was you I would I would probably keep some cash at RBC if you're you're focused on you know getting some lending from them in the in the future there's also that um but to be honest like from that side of things
(35:47) like that's outside my area of expertise as far as showing them statements from other accounts so I I won't stamp my approval on it but if it's true it's it's it's better for it's definitely better for me as a salesp person for us as a company so I hope that is true i was uh talking with Leo before everybody came in here and it's it's hard for banks to approve you or not approve you just because you don't have other business with them because that's technically illegal right so yeah not saying that they won't do that
