Purchase Agreement Template

When I used to buy and sell a lot of used goods, I would regularly utilize a purchase agreement just like this when buying products from someone that I did not know locally. This helped me in a few ways: 1. It provided us a record of the purchase which acted like a receipt and was helpful for bookkeeping 2. It ensured I was doing all of the due diligence I could in purchasing the products and provided an additional legal layer of security for me in the event the items I purchased ended up being stolen.

Although something like this is not mandatory, I would definitely recommend it especially in situations where you may be dealing with a larger purchase or when you are purchasing certain items that are a higher target of being stolen (such as electronics, tools etc.). I would typically have multiple copies of these with me, pre-filled with my information and then complete 2 of them with the seller and provide them a copy as well.
