(00:00) uh I'm just going to pull up something on my screen and then I'll start sharing my screen I can should find it okay there we go um okay so I'm going to share my screen and then we'll talk a little bit about um focus groups let let me know you guys can see my screen yeah I can see it yeah okay everybody else good okay um so essentially you know focus groups are basically it's a research method that you know companies um put together um to get The public's opinion on um you know a product that they're launching an
(00:46) advertising campaign a marketing campaign you know and anything where they kind of need to you know get people's opinions uh to see what what it is the public wants so that they can kind of cater this product or whatever it is towards you know people and and get some interest in it so they will pay people to do this and there are a whole bunch of different kind of focus groups out there um really you know when you say focus group essentially it's it's an in-person one but nowadays the term is used Loosely so essentially focus groups
(01:22) are you know where a company will reach out to you okay we're looking for candidates who are in the construction industry and you know they're between 30 and 50 years of age and they live in XX area um and you know they'll put out a survey and then you answer all the questions some of it is personal information uh you know agid um address um you know name uh phone number that kind of stuff email address and then they'll ask you some kind of questions right so say it's a company that's coming out with a uh set of power tools
(01:52) so they want to talk to people who are in the construction industry right so then uh they'll ask you questions okay you know do you use these kind of tools and they'll give you a bunch of um like multiple choices right like grills or saws or hammers or whatever the case may be and you say yes and then you answer a bunch of questions and then if they decide that you know you fit the demographic that they're looking for and that your answers kind of match the the the people that they you know kind of want to talk to they'll give you a call
(02:21) or they'll send you an email saying okay um you know um you you know you've been selected to participate um what's going to happen is you know they'll give you the details okay it's going to be a 90 minute in person so let's just talk about in person or focus group you know they'll tell you where to meet what time to be there be there 15 minutes early they'll tell you how much the compensation is ahead of time right so um uh so you're not walking into any surprise and they also will also tell you um how they're going to pay it out
(02:52) because you know sometimes they'll pay you cash sometimes they'll give you a check sometimes they'll mail you a check uh sometimes they'll pay in the form of saying um redeemable digital gift cards so you know you can select an Amazon gift card you can select whatever a Visa and you know a Master Card which is which is what I do because you know these cards can be used everywhere right so essentially these companies pay you to get your opinions on things right so for the inperson ones you show up there you sit in a room um and you kind of just
(03:21) talk they'll maybe show you um a sample of the product if it's a product or if it's an advertising campaign they'll know they'll play it for you and then they'll ask you for your opinion what do you think of this what do you think of that what did you like what didn't you like if you could change something about it what would you change so they're just trying to you know bounce ideas off people and see what the general consensus is okay um and essentially all kinds of companies do this right it's just that it's it's it's They Don't
(03:52) Really advertise it out there people are not aware of it but you know all these ads on TV all the marketing campaigns they've all started from just you know a drawing board and then they'll have people come in and give their opinions on it and then they find tune it from there and then they come up with the final product so essentially that's what the focus group is right now another type is a product trial right a product trial is essentially where a company's coming out with a new product let's use a vape for example a company's coming
(04:21) out with a new vape and um uh they want your opinion on it right so either you go to a facility and they'll do in product testing at the facility or they will send you the product to your house where you will test the product and then you will go online and you will fill out questions about the product and then you get paid for that and sometimes you get to also keep the product so that's a bonus on top um there are um um I should you know preface by saying this that most of these surveys I'm talking about are all US based okay but that doesn't
(05:02) matter it doesn't stop it hasn't stopped me from you know doing 25 of them in in eight months and it you know I know people from India I know people from Africa that are literally applying for these and getting selected and doing them and making money so if you know some dude sitting in Nigeria can do this then trust me any one of us can do this right that's that's just to show you that it's possible right so product trial I have a place which we'll go through later if any of you live in the GTA area um Miss
(05:35) Saga there's a location I'll show you the website you can register with them and they do paid product fals there and I've done quite a few for them right they're coming off with a new bottle of wine they want you to go try it they're coming out with a new burger for Wendy's they want you to come try it and I've done I've done these I've done the wine tasting I've done you know the Wendy's burgers so you know you can go there and and get paid for these things so that's a product um another one one is a mock trial mock trials are very hard they're
(06:03) they're available in Canada but not as much so I'm not going to touch on them but there are mock trials and basically a mock trial is you know essentially what it what it sounds like it's a it's a trial but it's just a mock trial where you know a lawyer will tell you about the case he's working on and you know he wants your opinion on the case so he can better the argument um they're pretty long they're 4 to six hours I personally haven't done one but I know people who are um who are doing want and we them some I will make a note of it to look
(06:32) for resources of this in Canada because they are actually very high paying you can see here anywhere from 3 to 700 bucks a day and that's US Dollars um so they're definitely very high paying if you know you're able to to find them the next one is the online survey so an online survey is essentially the same thing right you um you got a survey you fill out the information you get accepted for it however instead of like a focus group where it's in person this is an online focus group so you would join the call it would be a zoom
(07:05) call nine out of 10 times it's going to be you and a bunch of people you know it it could vary from three to four people plus the moderator or it could be a group as big as you know8 to nine to 10 people it really depends right um and then basically it's just a zoom call and then you know they'll show you the advertisement or whatever it is it'll play on your screen um and then they'll ask you your opinion about it right and then they'll do this three or four times they have a couple of different advertisements or they have different
(07:34) versions of the same one and they want to see which one you like the best so they can decide to to make that the final product um sometimes these online surveys will be one-on-one um so it won't be anybody else except you and the moderator who's the interviewer and essentially it's just like a one-on-one interview all right and they're just asking for your opinion um you know uh the last one I did was for Disney crew Disney Cruises right so essentially was just a moderator and they're asking you okay you know tell me about your last
(08:06) Disney Cruise okay where did you go and when was this who did you go with okay what did you like about what didn't you like about right things you could change things you would what's your ideal Cruise um if you could you know make up the ideal perfect Cruise what would it be like so these are the kind of questions they ask you so they're not very hard right and you just have to be a little creative and um you know another tip is to always make sure that you're you're um very outgoing right because they don't want people that are
(08:37) silent they don't want people that are reserved they want people that are opinionated they want people that are not afraid to speak their mind because they don't want to hear oh yeah it's great it's great it's great no they want criticism they are paying you to be critical right so we we we tend to always want to you know give positive feedback but not in this case right and if you're in the hoop setting um make sure you're the first one to really answer the question right say say they ask a question to to the whole group try
(09:08) to be the first one throw that that that enthusiasm right um make your answers detailed make them long because they look for these kind of things and then when the moderator is done with that focus group they will tell the research company that hired you that you know what they ask for feedback they'll say you know what kale was really good he's very talkative he's got a lot of opinions he's got a lot of good ideas um I didn't like I didn't like Mike because Mike's very quiet Mike didn't answer any of the questions he kind of sat there
(09:41) you know I think he was on his phone the whole time so you know what we're not going to call Mike anymore Mike's on our band list right and they will put you on a band list like they literally have I've CED recruiters and they have list so they will ban you um so it's always good to you know just do these things and then you know if you're talking to a recruiter on the phone right say you apply for a survey and a recruiter calls you you want to be like I said out going again you want to build that relationship with them have a good
(10:11) rapport with them um you know be friendly be nice because you know when time comes for the next one they'll remember you right and and and and they'll call you first they'll bump you up they'll they'll do whatever it takes so kind of build that relationship um what I also like to to do is I like to stay in touch with them um you know you will end up getting their email after you you know contacted them about a survey or they've contacted you so you know you keep these things maybe you touch base with them every now and then
(10:42) you know um hey how's it going I was just wondering if you know you have any um surveys you might think I'd qualify for you know I feel like I have some very um you know good opinion like you know I have a lot to offer in terms of opinions or or whatever the case right you just kind of finesse we call it finesse right you just finesse your way and and and and and you get in their good graces you know you send them an email at Christmas time Merry Christmas right takes you 30 seconds and that could result in you know them calling
(11:10) you for a $500 survey right I have a list of of contacts of these recruiters you know that I've made friendly with and um you know I've been to so many um online groups now that you know sometimes it's the same moderator and you know in two two months I'll have the same one and she'll look she'll recognize me like oh kale hey and I'm like oh hey how's it going right and then you start building these rapports with them because now this is the second time you've done something with them so that's kind of how you know you want to
(11:37) finesse things right so those are really the online surveys that is the bread and butter of of of this is is not the in-person focus groups um because you know they're all US based so it's very hard for us to do an inperson Focus Group in the US right um Canadian Market is not so big so there is opportunity here for the inperson one but it's not as much as the us all right we have a short thing in the states so that's why we want to concentrate on that um so online service is is pretty much you know that um another thing that pays really really
(12:13) really well as you can see that very quickly 5 to 15K for medical trials okay in University of Toronto they put out tons and tons of medical files I will send out a link to the um UFT medical um testing and uh essentially you guys can you know bookmarket and every now and then go through that website take a look at the clinical trial that they're offering see if anything you know appeals to you and please go ahead and apply for it because these things are are great right now a lot of you are thinking you know I don't
(12:53) want to be a guinea pig you know this and that you know 90% of the time these are Tri these are these are um clinical trials in the sense that you know um half the time they you know you get a placeo so you're not even getting the real deal right and um you know it's not like you know they're going to inject you with some kind of you know unknown drug that they don't know what's going to do to you it's nothing like that right they're not they're very safe and they're not necessarily even taking drugs or pills or whatever it could be
(13:24) it could be anything it could be you know a clinical trial if you're a smoker if you're you're a weed smoker if you're you know you have a a habit of drinking a lot like it could be anything right it's not necessarily that they're you know uh going to give you drugs to take and they want to see how you react to it or whatever um it could be anything it could be lifestyle could be habitual uh trials um anything but they all categorized as clinical trials so um these are definitely you know they they pay a lot um they are
(13:55) considerably timec consuming but like I said at the end of the day 5 to 15K for a medical trial you're laughing right you're laughing even if it takes you a month to complete it two months to completed sometimes it's even three months but hey you know 5 to 15K over three months is is pretty good if you're asking so I'll definitely send those out and I highly recommend that you guys go through them and it's not only ufp that does it um when I have some time I will try and put together some more Canadian Source resources
(14:25) because I've had a lot of requests for Canadian ones and it's is very timec consuming to to get all this info together uh but I will definitely you know uh put it on the list of things to do um and then in home studies basically um these ones are where um companies will come to your house with a team of their people two to three people four to five people sit down and interview you sometimes you know um I got applied for one that I had to decline um I applied for it not knowing that it was an in Homestead right and then I applied for
(14:58) it and then I got a call saying hey you've been accepted to the inh home study and we're going to have three people come to your house they want to see your backyard and because it was about patio furniture on the survey so you know they said okay we I want to see your backyard you know we want to whatever whatever right so um I had to you know finesse my way out of that thing because you know I couldn't have them come to my house CU I didn't live there so um in home studies are still a good thing Canadian ones are still there
(15:28) and um all these things that I'm talking about I will eventually come up with Canadian resources and I will put them there for you um a lot of you may be hesitant to apply for these us ones because I definitely was in the beginning um I was hesitant um you know I was nervous I you know I didn't know what to say when the recruiter called me you know I fumbled a few times you know and I I didn't get selected for the few in the beginning but you know what um you live and you learn I learned from my mistakes and now you know I wouldn't say
(16:01) I'm an expert but know I'm I'm pretty good at these uh getting accepted at these um and as you gradually do more of these you will start to learn little tips and tricks of how to increase your chances to get selected um and I also will provide you with some resources um taste tests now taste test like I said you know they're coming out with a new recipe a new burger a new bottle of wine they want you to uh you know they want you to taste it out and give your opinion on it most of these are you 30 to 45 minutes they're
(16:35) usually in person at the facility um you know 30 to 45 minutes they'll pay you 50 bucks 75 bucks 100 bucks you know to go in taste a burger uh answer maybe you know 25 30 questions on a computer and leave so I think that's a pretty good deal um while we're on the topic of taste tests I'm going to pull up um I'm going to pull up um the taste test in Miss Saga um if any of you are in this area in the GTA or definitely check these guys out they're called accce International can you guys see my screen yeah I see taste tests I just see
(17:17) the slide for taste tests oh you don't oh you're not seeing this screen why is that so with Discord like when when you share a screen it's on a specific screen that you're sharing oh it's not is that all okay yeah if we want to if you want to change screens uh I you could probably do it in settings but you could just stop your stream and then start again and then share a different screen okay cool um all right thanks for that Jordan um okay so this is the one that I was talking about let me know you guys see it yep okay so it's
(17:49) called accce International it's located on dunan drive here in Miss Saga so it's at the corner of like uh Dundas and Glenn Aaron for anybody that's uh you know have familiar with the area so essentially you know you just jump on their page here ACC intl.com and then um you know you can sign up it says right here become a tested participant so you just you know sign up you put in your information I don't know why it's erroring but uh you put in your info and you know you just sign up if it's not working you definitely give them a call
(18:21) uh because I'm definitely signed up with these guys and I've done quite a few with them uh the thing with ACC is um it's good to follow up with them just like any other focus group right um it's always good to do the followup because there are a lot of applicants right so you kind of want to you know make make yourself stand out right and most people are not going to follow up okay either they're too lazy or they just forget or they're just too busy all right so if you take the extra scrap and just maybe do you know an extra followup um it'll
(18:55) it'll increase your chances so give them a call if you're not able to sign up with with them and then uh you know set up a profile with them and then once you meet the criteria and they have something they'll give you a call but I would call them once every two weeks don't call too often because you don't want to annoy them at the same time but call you know at least twice a month right and say hey I'm just calling this is my name you guys have anything you know I haven't heard from you in a bit that kind of thing they don't mind um I
(19:20) do it all the time so definitely try that um okay so um pce tests um so that's really it for T tests um so those are the different kinds of focus groups that that that um that exist um you know where companies will pay you for um your opinion on Stocking okay now um I don't know if you guys know but in the focus group Channel also I think in guides and resources I've posted a couple of things uh when we started this channel up uh me and Jordan we posted some stuff there so uh you guys can take a look at it when
(19:56) you have a chance uh but essentially it's it's what's up on my screen here so there's two resources that we've U put up there uh one is this word document well it's a PDF document that we uploaded but it's this document which is kind of a list of possible questions and how to answer these questions these are questions that are pretty generic to any survey that you will fill out online so the initial survey you'll fill out to put your name in the in the Hat essentially have questions like this okay now you know like I said they'll
(20:31) ask you personal information you know so usually they'll ask you your first name your last name they'll ask you for an address we'll get to that later phone number email address um they'll ask your age and then they'll ask some You Know M marital status you know do you have kids living at home what are the age of your kids um are you employed full-time or you know parttime okay so there's ways to answer the questions depending on what the survey is um there's certain ways you want to answer the question so it's not not just you know just jump on
(21:00) and start answering questions you kind of want to put some thought into into the question you know what is the survey about what are they looking for all right what kind of demographic then you want to make sure that you fit in these demographics you want to insert yourself into these demographics even though you may not fit into those demographics right so that's what we call finessing right so if they're looking for construction workers and you're a bartender guess what today you're a construction worker all right
(21:32) so one of the most common questions that come up is the first one here which says have you done a taste test for any form of study like this in the past six months very very important to kind of keep track of what companies you've done C for in the past so what I do is I have a spreadsheet on the spreadsheet I'll have you know the name of the research company what the survey was about say it's about credit cards and then XYZ is the company I did this uh I did the you know focus group on this date they told me they're going
(22:10) to pay me 150 bucks um payment's going to come four to six weeks after the conclusion of the study and this is how I track my information have I received payment yes I've received it okay perfect and in in in the same stret I'll kind of put you know the contact information of the recruiter there just in case you need to reach them just in case you didn't receive your payment it's always good to have in contact before so you can follow up with them and say hey I haven't receive my payment yet can you please tell me what's
(22:38) happened all right so you kind of want to keep track of these things and another thing you want to keep track of is when you're answering a question like this so say you did a a focus group for company ABC three months ago and now again company ABC has sent you a questionnaire to see if you qualify for another focus group right and then they're going to ask you have you done a taste test or any form of study like this in the past 6 months they you you know you answer the question is no that's not that's not good because
(23:11) they you know [Music] um they have the information on file they know you did one with them three months ago right and then if you're going to say no I haven't done one in the past six months they're going to know you're all right and that's just that's you're going to be on the band list right away right so kind of once you start doing this you'll notice that it's just a set a set of maybe 10 to 12 research companies out there that get contracts from everybody to find participants and put together this Focus SCH it's big names Adler Wier PRC
(23:49) fieldwork you know uh opinion links once you start doing this for a while you'll know all the Big 10 names and then you know even off the top of your head you'll be like oh yeah I did one for these guys two months ago so I'm going to say I'm going to say yes I have done one in the past six months but if it's a company that you've never done one for before 100% just say no I have not done one in the past six months and the reason they ask this question is is a they want to give everybody a chance to kind of participate they want
(24:19) the opinions of a lot of people they don't want the same 10 people applying to the surveys and giving it their opinions on you know iety of topics right because they want a a wider range of opinions so they do this to wean people out so anybody that's done a survey in the past six months if you answer yes to that question you're off the list right away they're not even going to look at you because they want someone who hasn't done six months so that's why I always say answer no only if you have not you know done one for that compan in the
(24:56) past right if you've done one for them then be like okay yeah I've done one in the past six months and then what you know what maybe you'll still get a call back maybe you did such a good job the first time on the one three months ago that they'll still call you back because this is not like set in stone right there's always excepts through the R any R out there there's an exception too right so this is this is just like that they'll make an exception but uh most cases you kind of want to say no I haven't done one past six months right
(25:23) um and here is an explanation of you know why you think you know saying yes will give you a better chance because you know you think it's it shows that you have the experience but that's not the case they don't want someone with experience you know to take these surveys um and another thing is there are people like me who are like you know um who do this like all the time right some people just do it for shits and giggles but I do this like professionally I should say right because I dedicate you know time to this
(25:58) I I make good money off this so I'm doing this professionally so they want to weed out people like me that are just in it for the money like professional focus group of pliers right they want to get rid of us another one they're going to ask you is do you you know does anyone work at any one of these companies and they give you a list of companies and usually so say if they're coming out with a wine bottle a new wine you're going to want to know do you know anybody that you know Works in a wine company and do you
(26:27) know anybody that works on a winery do you know anybody that works at the beer store do you know anybody that works at the lcpo because they can't accept you if you do if you have relations to people in that industry they're going to wean you out right because sometimes it could be a conflict whatever the case uh sometimes the information that they're presenting to us is confidential um so the definitely don't want you know you related to somebody in that industry because that could be considered like Insider information right because a lot
(26:57) of these surveys um they make to sign ndas right ndas for anybody that doesn't know and NDA is a non-is agreement it's essentially a legal binding agreement that says that you will not disclose any of the information that we discussed today you will not tell your wife about it you will not tell your best friend about it um and and and they take ndas pretty seriously um so you know that's why you want to answer that question and just say no I don't know anybody that works in any of these industries um do you have kids answer
(27:31) depends if the study is for a kid's product then obviously you want to say yes you have kids because they don't want people with no kids to give their opinion on a kids product right so if you see right off the bat that it's a it's a a product about children's items books toys clothes whatever yes I have kids okay and the younger your kids the better they don't want teenagers right teenagers are not kids so um if you got to finesse your way you got to finesse your way you know I have a 12-y old boy and a six-year old girl you know my in
(28:07) in in my second identity you know and and and i' I've developed this identity right and I I and I stick with it right because you don't want to keep changing who you are depending on each survey it's going to be very hard to keep up so you kind of want to come up you know obviously your name is your name you're not going to use a fake name but you know the address and the phone number you're obviously going to use your own Us number number but you know your your job um you know your college education keep everything the same have a profile
(28:35) yeah I did go to college yeah I'm you know I'm a construction worker or whatever the case right I if you're a girl you know a good a good option is to say you know yeah I'm a child care specialist um it's just you know these kind of jobs apply to all the focus groups that kind of looking for unless it's a niche specific you know unless it's a focus group for an accountant right because they want the general public's opinion you know uh they don't want doctor's opinion you know a construction worker is the general
(29:05) public right um a child care specialist or a childcare worker a babysitter that is your your average Joe and that's who they're looking for unless they specify they're looking for an average Joe so you want to make it look like you're an average Joe right now um when they give you questions that are you know like arranged okay like this one down here which the following best represents your annual income before taxes and they give you quite a a wide range right so from under 25 to say over 75 now you don't want to go too low because you know if
(29:42) it's a product that they're coming out with they kind of want people they want to talk to people that can kind of afford it so you're for if if you say you're on the lower end of the uh you know the income uh line here you know maybe they don't want your opinion because maybe they think that you can't afford their product right or you won't be one of their ideal customer base at the same time you don't want to go too high all right because then they might think that you know maybe you're too good for their product maybe you
(30:10) know you like products that are higher end maybe you like designer products this is not a design so then your opinion is invalid to them because you are not the ideal customer so you always want to go in the middle right so in this range we pick around 50 to 60k 40 to 5050 50 to 60 kind of in the middle there right not too high not too low it just increases your chances right you just got to think of the psyche and what they're looking for and then you got to answer the questions based on that that's why I tell you guys you know
(30:38) don't just rush rush rush to fill them out think about how you're answering the question because it's very important how you answer the question that'll get your chances up there right um you know don't worry about this um now employment status this one is a little tricky when I first started doing it I was told to always do part-time and the reason I was told to do part-time is because it shows them that you're employed um but you still you know you have time during the day to be able to attend these because a lot of
(31:13) these are sometimes during the week you know they may not necessarily be after your 9 to5 job could be during the day and then also you know these are you know in the US sometimes it's 3 hours ahead 3 hours behind 2 hours behind so so it depends on what time zone it's in there right so um not necessarily they're always after your 9 to5 so you have to keep that in mind too so I was told that by answering part-time it tells them that yeah you're employed you're making money so you fit that little criteria that they're
(31:44) looking for that you can buy their product but you're also flexible in terms of your time um that's why you know sometimes I was also told say no if it's not a child specific study say no I don't have kids because people who don't have kids have less commitment right they have less distraction to the house they're more reliable um you know to to attend these things um because they don't have you know kids and last minut things or the babysit can my kid's sick and this and that all right so um if it's not child specific say no to
(32:19) kids um recently I've been told is um you know that Sometimes some recruiters don't like it when you say you know you're part-time um so it's kind of hid and Miss I mean there's no I wish I could tell you there's a right and a wrong answer here but there really isn't um I honestly have been doing this for nine months and I've always done part-time and I have had no trouble so you know stick with part-time if you guys see it's not working switch it out right and it's always good to switch things up if you're doing something and
(32:54) you're noticing that it's not working you have to change something because something you're doing is not right all right so you got to switch it up don't just keep doing the same thing over and over um I'm here if you guys ever need help you know um so always just feel free to DM me um when it comes to occupation like I said I my my my uh thing is that AOC construction Al I say I construction um you know if you're a female you definitely can say you know you're a bartender you can say you're a babysitter um child care specialist um
(33:26) Early Education or um you know anything that is not too fancy like you know you're not a lawyer or a doctor or or scientist um you know they want the general the general public um so any one of those occupations will work ethnic background ethnic background now this is tricky because um some studies are looking for specific ethnicities and that's fine you can just say whatever like obviously I can't apply to one that's you know for for Asians uh because I'm not Asian and if they see me on the call they're going to
(34:00) know this guy is not Asian right so um biracial biracial is the best because no one can tell you you're not you know I can tell them that you know I'm biracial and they usually that's that's all they need to know um you know you make up whatever yeah I'm half Italian half Spanish they can't tell you that you're not right um uh why do you say biracial because it gives you a broader chance of being accepted now these companies they have certain criteria they're looking for so they're looking for white males 20 to 40 years old
(34:37) they're looking for 10 of them who work in construction now they're also looking for the same amount but black males and then they're looking for the same in females and the same so forth right so they have to fill 10 of each 10 of each between this age group this race this gender and that's they have to fill their phot that way so by saying biracial you can now put your your your your you know um your thing in many hats right so now you can qualify as Asian and you can qualify as you know whatever case so that's why you always
(35:13) go by racial I've never had an issue with it no one's ever questioned me um um I I I'm I'm lucky enough that I speak four languages so that if I ever get called out I can definitely um you know get past that but even if they call you out on it I don't speak the land half Italian I don't speak Italian and that's fine so many Italian people don't speak Italian so don't worry about that but by by raal I think is the best way to get your chances increased now this is also um kind of ify I've been doing no some college
(35:48) right I've been doing um not a full college graduate I just say that I've done some chge um and and and you know like the guy you know who who who showed me the ropes you know no particular reason why it just seems to get me in most time right now if the survey says we're looking for educated professionals then guess what you're damn right I'm going to put I have a four-year University degree which I do in real life right but but in my little um other identity that I've chosen for this focus group thing I don't right so um but if
(36:23) it saids you know they're looking for educated professionals then definitely you want to be anuc professional don't say I only have some college because then you're not an educated professional so finessing you know think about the answer uh think about the question and and take your time to form an answer um and then this is a question that comes up a lot a lot a lot of these surveys um 70% of the surveys I've done have been about shopping behaviors how I grocery shop what motivates me what do I do at the grocery
(36:57) store do I have a list do I write down my list on paper do I put it on my phone do I have an app do I price match do I have a set store that I go to these are the kind of questions you want to know right and this is one question that always comes up when it comes to buying groceries products or services so not just physical Goods but Services as well in your household who is the primary decision maker about products and B Brands they will give you a list that says I I am fully responsible I am partially responsible I have an input but I am not
(37:34) fully responsible like whatever whatever they'll give you a bunch of different ones always say that you are solely responsible for it okay because they don't want somebody that doesn't have any input into the shopping decisions of thousands they want someone who has either full decisionmaking capabilities or someone who at least has a huge input so I always say that I am the sole responsible person for making decisions in the house whether it come to buying groceries financial decisions what kind of Internet to get whatever the case may
(38:10) be I'm the man I make you know I I I have a full um responsibility um and and like it says you if you're only responsible for half the household shopping you might not have the inside than want if you're fully responsible you can make the decision to buy their product and then do you follow a special diet this comes up all the time too right because you know if they're they're coming out with a new cookies and and you're diabetic they don't want to talk to you you will not be able to eat their product right you're a diabetic you can't eat their
(38:41) cookies so always say no I do not follow a special diet for any eating habit um for any medical reasons um so this resource like I said is up over there if you guys want you can download it keep it uh you know I I when I first started I printed it off and I just had a copy by my side every time I was answering a survey online if I needed to refer to it I refer to it there after doing you know a whole bunch you're not going to need it anymore but it's very very handy in the beginning um I am going to now share with you guys
(39:19) the other resource that is um uh posted so this is the second resource now um I'm coming up with a Canadian version of this it's it's very small right now so I'm I'm just not even going to share it because it's not very big however these are the US ones okay now um before you start applying for all these we're going to talk about you know things you should do and should do in terms of Technology you know you need a US number VPN all that kind of stuff we'll go over that but these are the websites essentially um the resources up
(39:56) there you can download it keep a copy on your computer the ones in the Bold are the best companies I find right now I find that these are the ones that have the biggest budgets that are that are Tried by the biggest names so like ad the wiener biggest biggest Wonder Wier wiener whatever um they have contracts with cocacola Disney um you know Microsoft um I've Done big ones with these guys and they're huge um they're actually I think they're based out of California my fake address is California California as well
(40:28) um well it's not my fake address I have a Us address um but that's the one I use when I apply for it's my Us address um anyways the ones in in in in know bolded are the best okay so what I would do if I would you guys I would go on to each one of these ones that are bolded start with the ones that are bolded go on their website um give me a second let me just turn on my VPN so I don't forget and then we're going to look some uh but yeah go on their website and um register a profile so that's the best thing to do
(41:04) is all these websites most of them I should say not all of them but most of most of them they um allow you to build a profile on there right so you put in all your information they'll even ask you stuff like what's your favorite car what's your favorite color what car do you own currently what kind of music Jers do you listen to some of them go very in depth some of them not so much right however um uh the best thing to do is fill out these profiles and the more details you put in the better and then what they do is when they have a focus
(41:39) group they go through their database and they say okay this guy falls within those demographics let's send him a certain invite and they have your email already on file and bang they they've they've now sent you uh an email and it comes directly to you right so um you don't have to go looking for these you wake up in the morning that's what I do my you know I wake up in the morning bring a coffee to the office sit down spend 30 minutes go through the email okay they l a couple of surveys and I'm done 30 minutes and I do this
(42:13) every morning for 30 minutes right and while I'm doing that I as soon as I'm done applying for them I post them in the survey group for you guys right and that's the kind of system I have in place um so apply for the ones uh uh sign up for all these ones that are bolded create a profile put in all your information and then watch the email start coming to you and then you just start filling out these out of your email okay I'm going to just turn this screen off for a second because I would like to share something else
(42:52) um so um I just wanted to show you quickly have give one second here okay you know I thought I had an example of something but I can't seem to find it I go on a waste your time so I will uh I'll post it in the focus group Channel later essentially I just wanted to show you um an example of how my Gmail is set up um and how it just you know kind of brings in all the emails and it just kind of filters them out uh but I'll post that later on um for now what I was thinking is I can show you the um resources actually
(43:45) [Music] um software tips um in terms of what we'll need to apply for these focus groups the two most important things you will need is a VPN and a Us phone number okay now you need a VPN only because these companies when you go on their websites or when they send you a FOC a survey they track IP addresses okay and they do this for multiple reasons the first reason is that they don't want the same person applying to the same survey more than once okay okay so people have tried that where you know they'll because
(44:31) these guys don't ask for ID they don't ask for anything so you can you know literally apply for these 10 10 times under 10 different you know aliases right so to we out to people like that they track IP addresses okay so you always want to use a VPN because being in Canada they'll detect that your IP is from Canada and you you might not be able to even um access the certain or even get to the the questionnaire part right so always use um a VPN what I like to do is like I said I have an address I have a house in the states it's in
(45:06) California so I set my VPN to California so that makes it looks like I'm in California right um I would recommend you do that as well if you come up with an alias and it's in New York that's your vpm to New York okay um second thing is Us phone number this is obviously the most important why is it the most important because they need to call you um they will not do it 100% over email um I wish they did because that would be great however they do call okay uh they call to verify your answers they call verify personal information uh
(45:45) they call because they need to make sure you're a real person um so you know they call for a variety of reasons uh so having a US number is very important now multiple ways to get a US number um I'm sure Jordan's got a couple of resources I'm sure some of you have CVS Services you use for the Amazon business so I'm sure some of you are going to be very resourceful in you know being able to come up with getting a US number for those of you that don't um I highly recommend Google Voice um why do I recommend it because it is it it's just
(46:19) it's Google right it's just it's it's a product that works it's very reliable it's free um it it's it's very reliable um that's all I can say I've had absolutely no issues with using it in Canada um it it it's the absolute best I can use it when I'm on the road I can use it anywhere um and and you know I get calls it doesn't sound like you know a quality call like you know maybe some of the V IPS the voice over IP um Services out there um so Google Voice if you can get it definitely get it if you're not able to get Google Voice then
(46:57) that's fine there are other options out there um I will send you guys some lists but there's you know there's like text plus there's there's a couple of different ones out there that you can you know um on the Play Store even that you can you know set up a Us phone number some of them cost money um if you are going to go with one of those apps I definitely recommend don't cheap out on it and don't go with base plans sometimes the base plans for these you know paid viip apps for us phone numbers are not the best uh but the paid ones
(47:28) are really good right so uh because they basically allocate all their you know resources and their bandwidth towards these paid subscription ones so they free options don't necessarily work the best but in my opinion it's well worth the $299 or the 3.99 um that they charge a month um that's that's really nothing compared to what you could make you know um so look at it as an investment right what's three four bucks a month um a few things um up here I've I've heard about this tool I've been meaning to use it and I've not used it
(48:04) yet but I know a lot of like the guys I had mentioned that are out of the um continent like the guys in Africa the guys in Asia that are you know applying for these surveys uh because I'm part of a a telegram group where you know uh we essentially do this right uh bounce ideas of each other share share leads whatever the case so I've seen it firstand where guys in Nigeria are literally making thousands a month doing online focus groups right and and and and if these guys can you know circumvent and navigate then
(48:38) definitely us being in North America you know right next to the us we should have no trouble at all right so um these guys use kiwi browser I've never used it personally but apparently kiwi browser is really good for privacy um it's like uh you know it's known for their their privacy features or whatever right so they have um an extension on the browser which is called proxy helper um basically you can add that in um and then it essentially SPS your location or whatever right you could do that um you could get a VPN you could get both just
(49:14) to be safe right um location changer is another one down here location changer it's a powerful location rting app that that kind of you know it's like a VPN as well it changes your location right um the difference between kiwi browser and the VPN so kiwi browser is used to change your browser location okay whereas the VPN is used to change your device location so keep that in mind um you know I do a lot of um like downloads for corrents and stuff right so a browser location is not going to work for me I need to change my full device
(49:49) location so I use a VPN so um the VPN that I use um I've started off in the past using eia eia is private internet access they're very good uh however um I came across surf shark and I started using surf shark now surf shark is a very very well-known VPN and the great thing about surf shark is is that it's uh available for purchase through rakitin and Jordan correct me if I'm mistaken but the last deal I think we saw was almost 100% cash back for for Ser trop and rackson so I posted in the chat I posted in the chat
(50:27) in the voice chat it's still 100% 100% there it go so you can sign up one year pay for it and then racket will give you the p f essentially you're getting your VPN for one year for free um so if you haven't taken advantage of it and you plan on getting it there's no better time you're doing it now because who knows how long the 100% still last and uh you know You' be you'd be foolish to say no to that it's a great deal um I use it all day long um surf Shar is great so that being said um what I think we'll do quickly is I will pull up my
(51:01) screen let's go through one website maybe we can go through one quest one uh questionnaire together like you can watch me apply for a survey just so you kind of see it you know and then and then we can do a little Q&A um and that should be that okay just think my scen here um okay uh before we do that uh if you can see on my screen here so the one I told you about in Miss Saga was the accce um then there's another one in Brampton Brampton called Matrix Sciences sign up on their website as well they also do testing I get emails from them
(51:56) all the time uh 30 minutes 25 bucks 30 minutes 50 bucks um and and I'm always having to say no to them just because I'm I'm busy but if you guys are in the area uh you guys want to sign up with Matrix Sciences there another good one in in in Bramton Ontario um this is their their website right here and then uh you can just go ahead and know uh a research and then you kind of sign up or whatever and then you know you join their list and then they email you every time um they have something that you qualify for and then the third
(52:30) one excuse me Canadian one is right here PRC research.com okay so to participate you kind of go here they have a click here to register you you know fill out the profile and this is kind of what it looks like right personal information name date of birth address employment education some medical info here uh car make model interests you know this kind of stuff right just to get an idea of you and then this is the kind of information that they match you up with later right because now they have all this information on you so when they
(53:04) have a study comes in that says I want to you know I want someone that has diabetes type one you're going to come up in their database and they're going to you know send you an email saying hey you might qualify for the survey go ahead and fill out the survey and and we'll contact you if anything all right so this is the kind of stuff that's how it works um let's pull up um PR okay so this is a really good one in the states okay it's called PRC uh Market research.
(53:36) com okay now uh you know you can just jump on their website um if you go to their homage it's uh Global Market Research company right and uh you know they tell you a little about what they do and then they have a section here upcoming projects right so I don't think these guys have a um profile um a profile caption do okay yeah so they do so right here join our paid panel so you fill out everything here and then um you sign up and then they'll email you on a daily basis I get emails from these guys almost every day
(54:13) so definitely fill up this information um but at the same time in the mornings if you wake up and like you said like I said if you know you have a system like me where you do it first thing in the morning 30 minutes while you're having fa and you haven't got an email from them you just jump up on their website and then uh you know you can you can find out all their um upcoming projects right here so you just click on upcoming projects and essentially it brings you to this page which shows you um all the projects that they currently have that
(54:43) they're currently recruiting for okay um so let me just pull up something here and then we can actually do one of these together okay so I'm just going to BL blow this up so you guys can look at it a little better all right um so the first one they're looking for as you can see up here is for clothing and fashion quickly scanning it it's just females who reside in in NYC who residency maybe acquire okay we're going to scoop over that one not a lot of people ask for that so don't worry about that um um social
(55:27) media Conta okay so they're looking for um social media content adults 18 to 29 years of age these are the dates that they're holding these it's going to be a 45 minute discuss.io is just like a zoom platform it's an online platform where you gather and you have a video conference with these people so just like Zoom incentive 150 bucks now you tell me 45 minutes for $150 and that's USD that's closer to 200 bucks Canadian okay for 45 minutes so you know you guys do the math you know do a couple of these a month and and and and and you're
(56:09) you're doing quite well um you know another one here Arizona voters okay Hispanics s with that one games and entertainment this one's in person so we'll skip over that one Nationwide adults in the trucking industry $400 digital incentive from the comfort of your home for 2 hours so 200 bucks us an hour okay these are the kind of surveys you can be applying for right so anyways let's look at one and we'll just kind of go through it and just kind of 18 to 29 so keep in mind usually the ages are much wider ranges than these originally 18 to
(56:51) 55 right but some of them they'll have lower e so it's up to you like I said these guys most of them don't ask for ID if they do they'll tell you ahead of time they will say in here that ID is required as soon as you see that you can okay decide to pass up on it right um so it's not like they can verify your p is what I'm trying to say it's all about finessing guys it's all about finessing right so social media content click here you know what give me a second actually uh let me turn on my VPN um VPN okay so VPN running now and VPN is
(57:38) set to Los Angeles California okay so this one we're going to pull it up here I assume this one is a nationwide one because it doesn't specify sometimes like they'll say Nationwide or they'll say you know State specific like this one like says NYC so if it doesn't specify then definitely it's Nationwide all right so we click there and here it tells you okay thank you for your interest in the social media content study that PRC is managing 45 minutes discuss IO discussion 18 to 29 years of age blah blah blah blah blah okay and then you go
(58:16) next okay now it's going to start asking you information here okay so this is this is this is just another identity right um obviously my name is not jayas if I was filling this out for real I would put my real name there um an address the address is this is just an identity so you know you could literally just you know look up you know anywhere in California right so I wanted address in in Livermore um California right and then kind of pull up Google Maps and you know look at Zillow give you an address use an address that's what I do right
(59:07) pick an address right here you go 737 ciso Circle Livermore California 9455 that's your address Bank write it down and just keep using that one okay um the county I know it's Alama so um you know you could Google that if you don't know what county it is um email address you can just you know put your email address now I highly recommend coming up with an email address specifically for service Okay the reason being is that this will allow you to just have one section where you're getting your emails for surveys
(59:39) every day sent to you so you don't have to go digging through them in your personal email right all the correspondents the surveys come to your email um that's the email you use when you're filling out applications that's the email you provide when they send you your incentive which is usually a digital payment um so just you know make an email up and just use that strictly for focus groups and nothing else okay um telephone numbers you're going to have to put in your ux number once you eventually you get one
(1:00:10) okay statement that best supplies to you first time I'm contacting you or I've been in contact with you regardless if I participated or not they just want to know are you a new customer old customer I've been in contact with them I agree to opt in for text yes or no up to you doesn't hurtt your chances same thing here yes or no doesn't hurt your chances okay 18 oh sorry male and now they were looking for age 18 to 29 so I'm going to say on 25 okay um by racial Perman area you can pull whatever sir bbon doesn't
(1:00:59) matter employ parttime this is that question I said have you any one of your members in the past five years worked for any of these organizations right because if you say yes here it's going to be most likely a conflict of interest and you're not going to get approved so always always always none of the above okay and just make sure that the profession that you're saying you work in is not in here as well so that's why I always say construction because you'll never see Construction in your hard right so I always say I'm a construction
(1:01:37) worker are are you or anyone in your household employed at any one of the following companies none of the above okay because they're trying to see if there's going to be a conflict of interest okay now what is your overall opinion of the below companies Facebook company I love I like I don't have strong feelings I dislike go leave a j now you know you don't always have to say I love I love I love it's okay just remember they're looking for your opinion they're not looking for you to Super quote things they don't want to hear all the
(1:02:19) positives they want to talk to people that hate Facebook they want to talk to people that hate Instagram but at the same time they wanted to the people that love Instagram so don't be afraid of you know oh did I answer this correctly or not there's no right or wrong answer here they're looking for a variety of opinions so just answer answer honestly okay and the reason I say answer honestly is because the more questions you can answer honestly the less finessing you have to come up with so say they call you you apply for this
(1:02:51) survey and they call you 3 Days Later I'd like to verify your answers which is what they do they will call you say hi I'm calling about the survey that you filled out can we please verify your answers so what you would say yes sure no problem and then they will exactly what they will do is they will have this questionnaire that you filled out in front of them and they will read this questionnaire word for word and then they will ask you ask you for your answer so say for example you answered here I love Facebook okay for question
(1:03:23) number 12 and they call you on the phone and then they come to question number 12 and she reads you this for this project we're talking to people about you know variety of companies what is your overall opinion of the bow companies you said in your questionnaire company I love but on the phone you're like oh I I hate sorry I hate Facebook right away they're going to call you out because it's happened to me before I have not remembered my answers and she said oh but in the questionnaire you said bang and I was like oh and
(1:03:56) there you go you just lost it right but sometimes you can recover from that right and and sometimes a recruiter She's Like H we'll just stick with this you know company I I I totally love and she goes that's fine and uh and sometimes they're okay with the but sometimes they'll be like actually you know you know what you answer the opposite um you're not qualified for this so kind of you know if you don't have to finesse don't finesse because the less you got to remember uh finessing you know the better the less
(1:04:28) the better so here we're GNA say okay you know I love Facebook you know I'm okay with thing I'm okay with thing you know I don't like Twitter and you know I kind of don't like apples okay uh which of the following do you personally have an account for you I have an account for all of them okay how often do you use Facebook okay I said I use Facebook I love it so I use it all the time so okay I go a few times a day or more okay you know which activities do you do on Facebook so right away now you're starting to get the idea that this is
(1:05:00) most likely a survey for Facebook and most likely meta who Facebook's parents company is putting together you know some kind of market research thing and they've hired this company PRC to find them candidates so we're probably if we get selected for this we're going to be talking about social media or Facebook so you know what activities do you typically do on Facebook I post original content I interact with businesses friends you know I sell on Marketplace I use messenger okay what are some of the reasons you have this
(1:05:32) Facebook I have it for fun you know I make money from it I share content whatever and you know if you have something extra you can put in here um they always like to see things like that you know if you kind of go outside the box and kind of put in something extra here you know it's always good um you know what uh best describes the type of content you post you know I post content that is only friends and family or both for the public whatever right what category best describes the type of content you post and then you know you
(1:06:03) whatever I check off a bunch blah blah blah right how many followers do you have I got you know 600 so I answer that you know what's the URL link to your Facebook account you know here you can put it if you want don't you know uh you can I don't people that you know have multiple Facebook accounts just for this purpose so whatever right usually they don't ask for this um you know I have an ALT uh LinkedIn account you know it's no biggy takes three seconds to make increases my chances big deal so usually they don't
(1:06:34) ask for stuff like this but because it's Facebook specific I guess they want to know um and then you know then they ask you always a question like this now this in my opinion is one of the most important questions on this because this is where they seek out your creativity they want people with creativity so we will always ask you a question like this some you know an example of so this question for example is what's something you've learned about or you stum stumbled upon online recently please be sure to share what
(1:07:09) you learned and where you learned okay um so you can answer you know whatever you like right but sometimes what they'll ask you is you know uh you know if you could describe your ideal vacation where would you go who would you go with um if you could have dinner with one person Dead or Alive who would you have dinner with and why would it be that person you know these are the kind of questions they ask you to see is this person going to answer in a paragraph in two paragraphs or are they going to write two sentences because if
(1:07:41) you write two sentences they don't want it because then you're going to be the kind of person that just gives a two-word answer in the focus group and what I said earlier is they want chatty people they want people with opinions that are not afraid to speak their mind that are open-minded that are outgoing that's key that are outgoing they don't want shy people they don't want timid people they want to reserve people so this is where they see how creative you are so just be as creative as you can now certain
(1:08:11) questions you know if go you for a loop use chat GPT to get ideas in your head I can't think of a dead person I want to have dinner with let me ask Chad GPT it's worked for me in the past right but this don't copy paste Chach because you know they can tell all right H so so get the idea from Chachi and then type it out yourself in your words don't just copy and paste and then pretty much that's the end of it right and then you hit next and then it'll say thank you for applying to this survey and then you move on to the next one right it took me
(1:08:46) maybe you know five minutes to do this not even you know if I could do five of this in the morning that's my 30 minutes right there right now I've just done five in the morning so you know you make that a habit and slowly you will start seeing results okay it's very very very easy to get discouraged I will I cannot stress this enough filling out this survey does not guarantee you a phone call it does not guarantee you a spot in the focus group okay it just gives you an entry this is like your entry ticket now they're going to pull they're going
(1:09:17) to they're going to hold a lottery and if they pull your name that's great okay but this is your entry ticket so you could fill out five a day and you could do it for a week you could even do it for two weeks and you won't get a call back and it's going to be very easy for you to be discouraged it's going to be very easy but you know what don't quit because I got so discouraged and then I was like I'm not doing this anymore it's a waste of time it's a waste of time and here I am $6,000 later in eight months
(1:09:50) if I got discouraged and stopped I would not have had that opportunity right so keep the momentum going and just do it don't get discouraged it's like you know it's like Amazon right like I send in products I products sometimes they sit there they don't sell they don't sell I'm getting no sales I'm getting no sales right I don't get discouraged what am I doing I'm buying your product to send it right so just have that same mentality right never quit never give up just keep doing it if you do some something consistently you're going to
(1:10:19) see the results so essentially that is what the um whole idea of focus groups are okay it's like you know you got to finesse your way into them have the right tools available to you you know you have this this focus group Channel I'll be posting here all the time you have the resources that we've put up get a VPN get a Us phone number and start applying to that um and and and sign up get that spreadsheet go to the ones that are bolded create profiles on all of them create email address with all these emails come to you every day
(1:10:58) and just apply for them and just have a system in place that's it and you guys will see results for sure if there's guys in India and guys in Africa that can make a th000 bucks a month doing us only surveys you you better believe any one of you can do that or even more I'm part of this telegram group where these guys are posting every day they're getting payments 100 bucks 100 bucks 150 200 500 and these are guys in India guys are you know have no idea of the North American way of life we're lucky we're in Canada we have the exact
(1:11:38) same things that the US does we have the same Brands we have the same everything here right so we know exactly all the brands you're talking about you know those guys don't have the luxury there but they still manage to do it right so we have an advantage here we should take advantage of it so if you guys have any questions please feel free to ask excellent thanks kale um for anybody that uh hasn't been paying attention I have posted a few things in the voice chat over the session so I have linked to the resources that kale has discussed
(1:12:14) so the site list and also the the question list we have that in our resources so if you want to copy that for yourself um I also listed a couple things that he mentioned there about the vpns listed multiple vpns that you can look at signing up for the link to Google Voice and then just put a couple additional tips in there as well and kale had mentioned a lot of these things as well so kale mentioned about using a unique email specifically for focus groups which I include I mentioned that as well um this is something that I
(1:12:44) would typically recommend doing for any type of individual service that you're doing so whether you're trying to cop concert tickets whether you're looking at sales emails for Amazon focus groups ET make a unique email for those just so it's not um bogging down your personal work email and you kind of have it separated out and then you can just look at that individual email when you want to spend time on that activity then you won't get distracted by other things and then I also mentioned that um like what kale mentioned is kind of the
(1:13:18) bulk amount of time for focus groups is spending time filling out applications so use an autofill service so Google Chrome has one built-in where you can save your information so like your name your Us address your Us phone number Etc and then you can Auto you can autofill a lot of that information so then your base information is a lot easier to fill out and then eventually if you do have a VA that you don't have doing enough for you or you want to give them additional hours or you want to do this and you want to take it very seriously you can
(1:13:51) also look at hir a VA exclusively for doing this for filling applications for you it'd be relatively easy to have somebody fill this data for you as well a great idea that's a great idea so yeah um I hope you guys you know learned something from this um please all by all means reach out to me anytime I'm always on Discord um like I literally here all the time so anytime just reach out to me uh any questions I'll be more than happy to help you to guide you um if you're having trouble you know setting up a VPN getting a Us
(1:14:25) phone number whatever the case let me know uh we can we can go over a few things um always here um I'm going to make it a u point to post as many surveys as I can um just please know that I can only post as I get them um I do go looking for them but sometimes there's there just nothing to be found um that being said some days are going to be very heavy and some days are going to be light but I will make it a point of Monday to Friday trying to post as many as possible um another thing I forgot to mention is these are very time
(1:14:59) sensitive right A lot of them you'll see they say first come first serve basis so if possible try and apply for them the minute they come out because I will post them the minute I get them because if I get an email I will post it in the group right away uh they are time sensitive the sooner you apply the better chances you have of getting them so that you're at the top of the list as opposed to the bottom of the list because like I said most of them do say first on first so the sooner the better yeah and then like in in the
(1:15:33) future I've been testing it a little bit as well um so like the Twitter the Twitter uh profiles kale has previously mentioned about following uh we do have a a hidden bot channel that we've been testing to pull through those posts automatically directly in Discord so you don't have to sit there and watch Twitter all day and I've kind of been working on doing that with additional websites as well that do Post these things like kind of kale uh pointed to in the session here so if we can get those pulled through um efficiently then
(1:16:00) we can have them automatically put into it Discord Channel but a lot of them aren't posted online so a lot of them you do have to sign up those emails for yeah yeah yeah no for sure there's uh uh definitely a lot on Twitter and Facebook so yeah if Jordan getto was up running that'd be really nice to just come through a feed um Twitter was actually quite active today with uh I have I follow these focus groups on Twitter and I set up notifications right like post notifications so every time they they post a survey on Twitter I
(1:16:30) just kind of get a notification there so I highly recommend you know if you guys want to do that that's a very resource uh a very handy Resource as well uh setting up Twitter notifications and following all these focus groups definitely just want to say thanks for this great presentation sharing out this information um I have done I have done um types of stuff like this the past and usually they actually send the payment to my home address so I was just wondering if it's the US how do you go about that since we are obviously yes so
(1:17:05) um essentially you know I don't know if like uh as you know some of us Amazon sellers have you know cbs's or whatever right so maybe you can utilize that like you know have a check Center and then they forward it to you uh but like I said 99% of these people pay digital uh the you know days of paying by check and bond right I've done maybe 25 to 30 surveys and I've only gotten paid by one check and 99% if not more uh have been in the form of a digital gift card uh either a Visa or a Master Card so essentially they send you a link saying
(1:17:41) here's your 150 bucks redeem your money you click on it it takes you to um a payment platform uh a very popular one that these company use is uh one called tremendous so tremendous is basically you know they give you an option of selecting a gift card you can choose from department stores to a Visa or a Master Card I always pick the Visa or the master card because these are something that I can use anywhere I'm not restrictive to just one store and uh the bonus thing is these are all USD so you know 150 USD is close to 190 CAD
(1:18:19) right so it's substantially a lot more money um and I simply just redeem these for a digital these are or or or our Master Card digital one then you just add it to your Google Wallet you can use it online shopping or you can use it to buy groceries and that's what I do right I use this money for day-to-day expenses right I'll use it to pay gas for both the cars for the month I'll use it to pay for groceries for the month so that I'm not paying for out of my pocket um so it's very easy I either add it to my Samsung wallet or my Google Wallet or
(1:18:49) some of them even have the option of putting it in your PayPal which you can then withdraw to your Canadian bank account right so that's what item sometimes so if they um I've done that a few times actually if they offer the PayPal option I will take the PayPal option because then I can just put that money in my bank account and and and it's USD now converted to a Canadian in my account um but if they don't have a PayPal option then 100% I'm taking the Visa or the MasterCard so the form of payment is always always um mentioned ahead of time
(1:19:24) it'll never be a surprise for you um I will I also when I post I make sure that the form of payment is in there if it's if it doesn't say then you right away assume it's digital form of payment if it pays by check they have to specify it's pays by check so it will say in my posting it pays by check and I won't even post ones that pay by check because I know we all live in Canada so it's going to be very hard for us some of us to get a a check from us right so I'm not even going to post on that that that pay by check to be honest cuz it's it's
(1:19:57) it's doesn't make sense so you can just assume that all the ones I post will either pay you by PayPal or by a digital Visa or Mastercard very cool and Christina um I also posted a link to our resource for how to use a crossb service in the voice chat um so if you are getting checks I probably wouldn't specifically look at using crossb pickups those are more so for packages but I would look more so for a just a mail forwarding service for the us and then you can probably get those checks across the border for probably less than
(1:20:32) 10 bucks awesome thank you that that's really helpful thank you kale for the the really detailed response yeah no problem no problem anytime um anybody else have any questions concerns I guess I was just wondering for people who do this full time how much are people making do you think honestly all i' I've i' I've seen guys make you know more than someone's monthly salary during this so you know I have I literally have a guy that you know probably gets 150 bucks a day and in either Amazon gift cards or or some
(1:21:08) kind of gift cards like every day this guy's in our group is posting gift cards upon gift cards and he's got a team of people like Jordan said about the VA this is the guy from Nigeria literally has a team of people doing this like he probably has six seven V probably doing this all day so I mean there's people making a lot of money but at the same time these companies know that there are professional people out there that are you know what I mean that are are doing this for a living right like there's and he's not the only one there's a lot of
(1:21:38) people out there that are you know applying to the same one under 10 different aliases you know changing their VPN for each one you know they have 10 different phone numbers you know they probably have an app on their phone which you know gives them a new number every time so I mean there's people that that do this for a living and they're making quite a bit of money um you know I do it for literally shits and giggles it's like you know I I dedicate 30 minutes a day to it so it's not like it takes a lot of time um out of my day um
(1:22:08) you know instead of browsing my phone while I'm having my coffee I'll I'll fill out a few surveys and and then you know that's it and you do those and you do it over time and you'll start getting calls um in the beginning it might seem a little slow um but you know any any kind of business you started is it's going to be slow in the beginning right so you just want to keep at it um just don't get discouraged that's all I can say it's super easy to get discouraged you know it's super easy because you fill out 10 15 20 of these and you go
(1:22:36) get a call and you're like oh why am I wasting my time right but you just got to keep at it all right thanks very much no problem once you get that first one that's it it's all over from there it's like when you know once you get that first Amazon sale right it's just it's just the best feeling and from there it just compounds right so it's just it's just like that once the first one comes then you just start rolling in it's just getting that first one 100% all right well um yeah that's it then I just wanted to thank everybody
(1:23:12) for listening to me speak for 90 minutes it's been a great session oh hey K I just have a few questions of course yeah so I just recently signed up for uh crossborder service um specifically I think it's crossborder pickups the one that Jordan had recommended in the server um when you sign up for one of those you get um a Us address assigned to you by that service um would it be advisable to use that um address as your Us address um I I don't use the CBS Jordan maybe you want to jump in here I'll be honest with you man I literally like I I
(1:23:54) have a Us address like like like a real house in us right so I use that address but all these guys literally are literally just jumping on Google Maps you know if you just say you decide you know I'm going to live in New York just jump jump on Google Maps look for a half decent neighborhood find an address and make it your address that's it there's no verification of these addresses happening there's nothing being sent to you in the mail there's no them asking before to verify address so literally just any address will do like pick a
(1:24:30) random address in New York and make it yours man like that's it with the crossb yeah that's you know I'm not I don't want to tell you to because I don't use one so I really know I can't tell you if you should use the CBS address or not but um just pick an address with the crossb service address specifically I probably wouldn't recommend using it for your identity because it is kind of obviously not a house address right like it it has like it looks like it's going to like a mailbox or a business so you you may have less acceptance rate if you
(1:25:03) do utilize that so it' probably be better if you're not getting a check just use a random address like halale said yeah yeah find a residential address Jordan's right right this this might be like a business address a PO Box address with the CBS so just pick a random residential area and pick an address and make it yours man that's it there's absolutely no verification of addresses happening um separate to this topic but I guess since everyone's asking questions about um you know getting service like getting
(1:25:35) the crossb service and everything like that um I have looked into you know in the US such a big Market there's so much glitches and free items um that best companies give it's possible if anyone has any experience with getting free products and shipping it over from the US to Canada if we can kind of have a webinar session on I think it' be great to hear about people's experience with that if anyone hasn't share 100% um at the end of the session uh once we have all the other questions uh answered I I will kind of discuss
(1:26:06) that a little bit uh because I do have experience with that um but yeah definitely oh yeah I just had I just had another question about um the US phone number I I had some trouble with Google Voice so I ended up registering for um my Us phone number through text now um and when I had registered um the when I open the app it uh presents a couple of options uh one of which is to lock in your number for a a set amount of money per week I think it's like $269 us per week because if you don't lock it in and there's a period of
(1:26:41) inactivity then your that number can be reassigned to somebody else so would you recommend locking that number in okay um I I would recommend locking it in um just like I mentioned earlier you know the free services that these apps offer are sometimes not of the best quality they they the paid ones are much better so I would lock it in however that being said can I ask what because I I will you know do everything in my power to to see if I can get everyone to get a Google Voice number because like I said it is the
(1:27:21) absolutely most reliable um way of of of doing these focus group calls um some of these Services um have ways of detecting um sometimes that you're using these vo numbers uh Google Google Voice uh always know doesn't is not being able to be detected so I really recommend Google Voice now with Google Voice the only pickup that us as a Canadian um you know we kind of get a Voice number first of all because we're in Canada you have to be in the US so I think the only hiccup is is Google needs a number of existing
(1:28:02) Us number for them to send you a code to that number that's really the only thing I think that prevents us here from getting a Google number so if you're able to you know get get a US number where you can receive this verification code you should be able to set up your Google Voice um account so what I would do is I would I would turn on your VPN to us I would create a brand new Google account brand new Gmail everything and set up a thing from there uh Google Voice in there you'll come to a point uh in the setup where Google is
(1:28:42) going to ask you for an existing Us number because they will send you a verification code to that number which you have to input so as long as you ble to do that and get that verification code you should have no issue setting up a Google Voice lender because I accid had no issue whatsoever so and in regard sorry Evan I didn't mean to cut you off just for that that verification code you can use text verify.
(1:29:12) com uh that that is a place where you can basically rent uh rent numbers temporarily to get the um the SMS verifications um with text now you can't get SMS verifications unless you actually pay for the number so you can pay a onetime fee to text verified it costs $2 USD for Google Voice it'll send that verification code to to that little app to your own personal number temporarily and then you can use that number to register for Google voice yeah yeah but perfect explanation exactly that's exactly what you need to do that's how everybody does
(1:29:46) it but like I said um if possible I can't highly Rec I I can't recommend it enough Google Voice is the way to the way to go um you know on my phone all the time uh you know even if I'm like I'm in Canada and you know my phone will ring through my Us number no matter where I am if I'm on data on Wi-Fi I take survey calls when I'm on the road so um it's very very very U very good okay is there is there a cost associated with it because I'm trying to look for the most economical option no so with Google Voice me personally uh
(1:30:24) initially I thought there was a cost associated with it but uh there's no cost associated with it so initially I thought there was and I just put nine uh 10 bucks uh I just vaded 10 bucks on there and that was a year ago and it's still on there like I can still see my money on the Google voice I haven't touched it so it doesn't cost you a penny so if you're looking for cost effective definitely Google Voice is the way to go um but like Jordan said you'd have you'll probably have to pay two three bucks if you want to get that text
(1:30:51) uh you know that text uh message uh verification but like I said now that's just a couple of bucks and it's just a one time thing it's not like you have to pay that recurring as far as I know with Google Voice um you I believe you only have to pay consistently for calling if it's like you're using that as like your own personal phone number so it's not connected it's not connected to like a data or Wi-Fi line yeah yeah see for me it's like a secondary right I don't even make calls on it I just use it so so the the the
(1:31:26) recruiters can call me um so like I said that 10 bucks that I put on it it's been sitting on there I mean I probably will never use it so it's kind of just going to sit there but yeah Evan with text verified I've used that site specifically quite a bit I've used it to open up like Funko accounts and additional uh Uber Eats accounts and stuff like that so that that is a service that I do know works and if for some reason you don't get the notification sent to you uh through text verified you don't actually pay for it
(1:31:58) you just load it up with credits um you just buy whatever amount of credits you want in USD so if you wanted to just use it for just Google Voice um you can just load up two bucks I think there might be a minimum you might have to do I you might have to do five or so I don't remember exactly and then they just use the credits per uh per notification that you get and if for some reason you don't get the notification then you don't pay for the service but I've never had an issue not getting ifications with text verified
(1:32:25) it's always worked very well okay yeah the issue I think was was having was because I was um my IP address was showing in Canada so it might not be an isue once I enable the surf shark bpn that I download yeah definitely um Google will detect your Canadian IP so you will not be able to get a Google Voice number so that's what stops us here so you will definitely the two things you'll need is that VPN and then you'll need the um uh the text now uh text verified so you can get that that that code uh but if you
(1:32:59) have those two things you should be able to get a Google Voice no problem um I was just looking over my notes here and uh I know I given you guys the three Canadian uh resources the first being ACC International second one being um the CRC research and then the Matrix Sciences so I just came across the fourth one which I forgot to mention to you guys I'm just going to um quickly um pop it up here on my computer and I'm just going to share this screen for two seconds so you guys can make note of it and then we can be done
(1:33:38) here uh so this is another one that's a good one um inclusive Insight uh this is Canadian so uh the website is inclusive insight.com I would uh sign up with these guys uh as you can see down here they're Canadian and stuff so definitely sign up with them and um yeah they can start sending you you know stuff like see they have um panel surveys that pay a little bit but whatever and then they have you know 25 to 500 for focus groups I've done about three or four with them they sometimes have ones that are in person as well downtown Toronto like
(1:34:16) young and Eglington if in that neck of the woods but they have a lot of online ones too so you know between these four Canadian ones should give you something to start off at and then uh yeah definitely look into this one uh inclusive Insight it's really good beautiful and I also wanted to mention like if you guys are sorry kale go ahead sorry man I need to cut you off I just forgot one more thing on this uh you can't see it but uh I had Craiglist on here so I'm just going to actually Craig's List um Craigslist is
(1:34:55) another place you can look for local Canadian focus groups so I just typed in quickly Craigslist here in my uh browser and uh if you can see one right here inperson focus group for those living in vaugh Ontario pays 125 bucks uh by E transfer so this is a good spot as well I forgot to mention earlier good thing I read my notes Here uh keep checking Craig Craigs List here and there and they'll have uh they'll have focus group sometimes they have you know a few down here but these are all us ones like see on concerts 260 bucks uh stuff like that
(1:35:30) but anyways check the Toronto ones because they have a good one here I think it's expired now but uh check it regularly Craigslist cool and yeah I was going to mention so like if you guys ever come across something like say Craigslist for example where you can actually find um good value let me know and then we can look at like I said introducing some type of scraper for it in the server so then if we can introduce it like our scrapers when we do get them up they do work very well and they produce things basically in real time so you don't have
(1:36:01) to continuously look at this stuff right so if you come across a a good Twitter account a website that regularly posts um focus groups um or like Craigslist Etc let me know and then we can look at getting the scraper in here then we can just add it to a channel you can set keywords very simply then you can just get DMD whenever new posts are made and like our Twitter for example which I could probably actually get that up right away uh for the ones that uh kale mentioned they ping basically within a few seconds of being posted on Twitter
(1:36:34) so it's almost real time awesome awesome and yeah with with Craigslist specifically I'll actually ask to see if we can get that addit as a scraper I don't think that would be that difficult to get added so okay [Music] okay awesome awesome thank you Jordan thank you everyone um please feel free to reach out if you guys have any questions or concerns um I'm here anytime perfect thanks kale very much appreciate it no problem thank you everyone um Christina I just wanted to mention because uh you had the questions about the crossborder service whatnot
(1:37:19) I'm just going to stop the recording here quickly just one second
