Video Summary
Introduction and Overview The session begins with a reminder that the video will be recorded and unlisted on a YouTube channel for attendees to revisit. Participants are encouraged to share their personal experiences with eBay, including any struggles and questions.
Individual Experiences Kale shares that most of his eBay reviews come from his experiences as a buyer, not a seller. He mentions having sold several old electronics but struggled with items purchased to resell and had faced challenges with returns. Teresa mentions she's new to eBay, having only listed items like Starbucks cups and is unsure about her listings' effectiveness.
Discussion on Listing Strategies Kale learns about pre-sale listings and how to extend handling time when items are not yet received. This was a missed opportunity for him. Questions about the number of shipping options to offer on listings arise, and Jordan suggests offering as many as feasible, especially focusing on both domestic and international shipping.
Shipping Strategies Shipping strategies are discussed extensively, with suggestions made about how to set handling time and shipping options to ensure competitiveness. Maintaining flexibility with shipping options and adjusting them according to the type of items sold is emphasized.
Analyzing Listings Participants offer to review current listings and pricing strategies to determine what is effective in the marketplace. Kale shares details about specific items he sold, including some collectible dolls and a Taylor Swift CD, discussing their performance in terms of sales and pricing strategy. Listing quality, including photos and descriptions, is stressed as critical to success on eBay. Jordan suggests refreshing listings regularly to keep them visible.
Tactics for Success The conversation shifts to the importance of understanding eBay's different market dynamics in comparison to Amazon, including how seller feedback impacts performance and pricing. Various practical tips are provided on using tools like eBay's mobile app for listing items and managing inventory.
Discussion on Promotions Participants discuss promotional options for listings and how offering promotions can increase visibility and sales on eBay. A strategic insight is shared about using percentage-based advertisements to gain exposure.
Closing Remarks The discussion touches on broader themes of growing confidence in eBay selling and utilizing various strategies to maximize profitability and manage risks effectively. Jordan wraps up the conversation by reiterating the importance of actively engaging with the community for knowledge sharing and support, encouraging everyone to leverage the tools and information accessible in the server.
Q&A Session In the final section, participants ask additional questions about sourcing products, the use of different selling strategies, and tips on maximizing visibility on eBay. Effective strategies to review competitor listings are also shared, emphasizing the importance of adaptability in their selling approaches.
Overall, the video encapsulates a collaborative learning environment where experienced and new sellers share invaluable insights that could enhance their eBay selling practices.

(00:01) [Music] I'm not I don't have option to record but I was going to ask you oh yeah you can record it yeah definitely I am going to record it and then I'll put it a it'll be an unlisted video on our YouTube channel which you'll be able to access anytime thank you so much 100% so yeah uh before we get into it I just want to know with everybody um if everybody wants to share um kind of what's your personal experience with eBay and then also um if you've been having any struggles with eBay or if you have any particular questions that you want to
(00:39) cover today I would like to know that as well so uh kale I know you specifically have some questions so you want to start us off yeah yeah so I um so I have a pretty good review like I have about 82 83 reviews on eBay but these are mainly reviews that people have left me because I was the customer not as a seller but as a as a customer um so recently you know I only started selling recently um I I put up a bunch of electronics around my house that were old DVD players cameras blah blah blah and I banked through I sold through like 10 of those
(01:15) in the past you know a couple of weeks in terms of stuff that I've bought to resell I've honestly struggled and I haven't had much luck and um I've had to return quite a few things cuz I just wasn't having luck on eBay so I'm I'm looking to really avoid you know doing that um on some of the listings I will admit that I did not know about the you know how you can list something before you actually have it so like a pre-sale confirmed and then Jordan walked me through and explained to me that okay you know with these items you can list
(01:48) them you just have to extend the handling time and blah blah blah so I missed out on some some sales because I wasn't aware I could list them before I actually physically received the goods so all take the bite on those ones but there are definitely some ones like especially um the valve steam deck that we you know that I think a bunch of us have bought so um that I want to look at that and we can go through other people's listings because I want to you know obviously see those as well but also I had questions in regards to
(02:20) shipping options um I know Jordan you said to just offer as many shipping options as possible uh but I just kind of want to make sure that I'm offering the right amount of us I have no problem with the Canada ones it's just the the US and international shipping options that I wanted to review as well okay yeah definitely those are those are all good points and we can definitely cover all that today for sure and so with some of the things for example that you've purchased recently like you mentioned the steam that kale um was there
(02:53) anything else that you recently purchased that try to yeah so so the steam deck is what I have listed right now and then and one of the uh Mariah Cary uh dolls so I had two listed I ended up selling one on eBay um I still have one up there and then I have those this is the one that I dropped the ball on the uh Taylor Swift CDs so um I'm trying to liquidate those even at a loss right now and I'm struggling to do so um but that's pretty much I don't have much much right now I have three items um active on eBay okay
(03:28) for sure and then for the I bought the items that you bought that you returned do you mind sharing what items those were yeah no problem I uh didn't have luck with those um Jack and Sally um Jack and Sally dolls okay let me pull up my spreadsheet here um and then I didn't have luck with the um Laney Wilson uh Stanley so I got four of those I ended up flipping one um and then I didn't have luck with the um a bears the the collector's edition plus the plush one from Walmart uh so those are the ones I struggled on okay and so with all those
(04:17) three guys right there um have you already sent those guys back or do you still have them listed yeah no no those guys were gone back and everything okay and so for the you mentioned the Jack and suly doll the Laney Wilson the Laney Wilson Stanley and the Care Bears uh the Stanley you said you sold one yeah the Stanley I ended up selling one but that was actually a local flip it wasn't an eBay flip it was I posted it locally too like on Marketplace okay so I ended up flipping it there okay for sure so yeah um we can definitely cover
(04:49) all that um with some of those as well I would also like to uh when we get into it uh if you're comfortable sharing uh kind of like look at some of the listings you have right now and then then also if you can like recall when you had some of those listings active like the Jack and so dolls leny Wilson Etc um if you can recall some of the details and what you had them listed for and then we'll kind of compare against the current market and then we'll see maybe if there's if there's something that you did or if there's something
(05:16) that's Market wise and then we can try and determine that uh from from there yeah okay cool okay Beauty and was there anything else on your end that you wanted to cover it all there kale me in particular no man that's even related that's that's really all all I have okay okay cool and all righty so uh Teresa if you're with us uh would you be able to share as well because I believe you mentioned that you had some questions specifically as well for eBay is that correct I think yeah I I I really have zero experience in eBay have not bought
(05:52) anything from eBay I have not sold anything in eBay so I tried uh listing um the Starbucks uh cups and um the Stanley Cups um yeah I it's still there um yeah I still have the items as well haven't sold haven't returned it yet so I I just don't know what I'm doing wrong because I'm putting myself on the buyas um I'm not sure if I see my own listing whether I will buy it so okay okay for sure um for the Starbucks cups that you have listed there Teresa which ones do you have listed the the red one and the white one
(06:37) okay and those are those are just the regular ones not the Stanley Starbucks cups is that correct not not the Stanley just the regular ones okay okay perfect and so uh your main concern right now is like you're just not too sure if you're listing correctly or if you would buy your own personal listing is that correct yeah whether I would try my if if if I see the listing whether I would try that seller and buy it from that so I don't know what I'm doing exactly so I yeah that's basically it okay for sure uh yeah so if like again once we get
(07:15) into it if you're comfortable with sharing uh your current listings what we can do is like we can look them over together as a group and I can critique them for you and give you my personal opinion and then um like we'll be reviewing probably like a lot of the market um with a lot of these items like specifically like the Stanley's for example um because like the thing with eBay is eBay is very different than Amazon um eBay you don't always have to be the most price competitive to sell your item listing listing quality and
(07:44) also your feedback do pay play a very big role with eBay um but price competitiveness does obviously pay uh play some role um and with eBay we have to kind of keep our eye on the market a little bit more than Amazon we don't really have automatic repricers that we can use so we have to make sure that we are price competitive especially if we are new sellers um but yeah that's all things that we can look at today for sure um did you have any other um any other questions about eBay at all Teresa um I watch a few videos um I'm
(08:20) thinking how how what's the best shipping off offer that we can do because uh I noticed is very expensive so is that's is that how we're really supposed to do it okay yeah for sure we can definitely look at shipping options too and there's also something I'm working with somebody in the back end for our server that does offer um cheaper shipping Services I'm wanting to this is something we can discuss a little bit later um I want to ensure that they are legit of course from what I can see it does appear that
(08:53) they are legit but it does look like they offer cheaper shipping options through UPS um I'm not going to discuss it too too much in depth today but um I am hoping in the future that we're going to find cheaper shipping options overall for everybody in the server which I also think could help with uh eBay too but yeah we can certainly look at the overall shipping options for Canada definitely I would actually also like to know how potentially we find products that are viable to sell on eBay yeah yes for sure we can definitely
(09:31) look that over like I mean do you just go into I don't know just see what's popular and decide oh this might go well even though it doesn't have a history because in your video you know showing how to um the items that have been sold so on and so forth uh potentially a a new item might be very popular up and coming and how do we differentiate that or is it just like I know you're not supposed to go with your gut and it's metrics and everything else according to Amazon um but the popularity and stuff like that like where do you know how to
(10:13) look to sell stuff yeah for sure that's certainly something that we can cover today as well and that's something that I was uh planning on covering today too so that's a perfect question um Teresa was there anything else on your end that you wanted to cover at all um um also what is the real realistic waiting time if we put uh release something how long are we supposed to wait um because in Amazon if you put it there once you got the B the buyx the potential of people buying from you is is already there but for
(10:51) eBay how we want to set our expectation as well so definitely if if you have something points related to that for sure definitely perfect thanks Teresa all righty and Janine you've already mentioned here uh that you want to discuss how to kind of find viable items to sell on eBay overall uh was there anything else in particular that you were wanting to cover today just as Teresa said that's rather interesting as well is to the prediction even though this is a completely different game as being an Amazon Seller
(11:27) so that would be I'd have to think about more questions I had a few written down for sure sure so yeah we we'll definitely cover that and so with everybody else in the server because I know that not everybody else had any specific questions uh previously in the chats but uh Green Day Muhammad Rizzy uh Vinnie do you guys have any questions or anything that you're wanting to cover at all today uh just uh you know you you showed me how you look at the sell through and all of that last time but I just wanted to know if uh if that's uh affected by
(12:10) being a a a seller with a good record and a good ratings or does that just uh like those uh those sellers that show on sell through are they they on that list because they they have good uh uh Records track records of of making sales does that puts us at a disadvantage so I kind of want to if you can touch on that when whenever you get a chance yeah definitely 100% so I'm just writing all this down here perfect thanks Muhammad Yeah question to uh Jordan yep yeah so you mentioned um in the past that I W I guess you can touch on it
(12:57) again about how does your the status of your you know maybe you're a newer seller how does that affect how you price your items right so let's say you're going you're just starting and you're not competing with um obviously you're not competing at the higher price you want to be a lower price just because you don't have that credibility yet um I guess how do you price your items based on how new your account is right um I know you touch upon it ear earlier uh this week but I just want to you know understand it more
(13:43) maybe you can go deeper yeah definitely 100% okay so um if anybody else has any other specific questions as well please chime in and I will certainly write them down when we'll get to them I'm going to start sharing my screen here and then we can start discussing some of these things so just give me a quick second I have make sure I can see it on my screen so that the video can capture it here so yeah like it's um with this chat it's going to be relatively informal uh I'm not going to be watching really any of the text chats um so if you have any
(14:24) questions feel free to just to chime in on voice here uh uh I probably will not catch any text chats if you have them if you do have a text chat if you don't have a mic uh please tag somebody else in this chat so that they can see it and hopefully bring it to my attention Okay so I'm just starting on the screen here um just so again uh if anybody um doesn't know already uh we do have some guides and some resources when it comes to eBay General reselling Amazon in our getbook which you can find under the guide and resources Channel under the
(15:00) support category uh so there's a lot of wide range of different topics that are covered in here and whenever whenever we have videos that are posted or coaching calls they'll also be posted in here as well so it's kind of a One-Stop shop place where you can reference everything uh one thing that we probably will be referencing today is some of the tips to optimize your eBay listings um some of this may seem a little bit redundant like when we talk about taking distraction free photos including multiple photos that may seem like why
(15:28) would I want to do that especially if you're coming from like an Amazon Seller perspective um because Amazon sellers but put it lightly I feel the same way we're kind of spoiled when it comes to Amazon we don't need to make our own listings and it's relatively easy to list a lot of different products in a short period time with eBay if you're wanting to be successful on eBay it's a pretty different game your listings and your quality listings really do matter so we want to ensure that we're always uh putting emphasis on making sure that
(15:57) our listings are very quality um let me just pull up some of these questions here and we'll start looking at storefronts and some of my listings so I'm gon to start with um rizzy's question here um sorry look like I may have heard somebody trying to speak Jordan I just sorry quickly while you're going into this um you had also posted something you had purchased um for lighting and photos now that we're in this section that you were going to discuss as well later so I'll be quiet now no yeah definitely so let me just add this to
(16:36) the list here so lighting it was just it was posted on the eBay chat or something I believe that something you had purchased and it could help yeah uh improve your photo quality which seems to be rather um important for sure so yeah like with this um you can see like one of these tips here is use proper lighting uh just give me a second here I'm just going to um change the screen that my uh recording software is capturing just make sure that's it's capturing the right stuff here one second new computer problems okay so yeah one of the things
(17:21) that you can see here on the resources is to indicate to use proper lighting so you don't necessarily have to go out and buy like a lighting kit you just want make sure that your area is well lit um because like when it comes to details with photos most people on eBay uh most people on any platforms realistically they buy with their eyes they buy from the photos so a lot of times it doesn't really matter what you put in the description of your listing that usually doesn't matter unless you have like specific details and you list like say
(17:48) like the specs of a computer uh it typically only matters what you put in the photos especially if you're selling something that's like used for example people zoom in on those photos they want see all the details they want to see if anything's messed up with it and so part of that is just ensuring you have proper lighting if you have stuff that's like say sitting on the floor not well lit people can't really see it very well it's a lot more likely somebody's going to look at that listing uh and then just completely disregard it if they can't
(18:14) see um the details for it especially if that's important to them right so you don't necessarily need like a a a fancy lighting kit uh but like realistically just being in a well-lit area with a a flat surface behind it and completely the distraction free that will make you probably in like the top 80 to 90% of listings out there um but yeah like in this skit book here it does kind of uh point you towards kind of some lighting kits that you can use and some um some photo kind of like they're kind of like Photo
(18:47) boosts uh the one that I shared in the chat earlier today um we just made ourselves in the warehouse It's relatively simple um let me just pull up that picture here uh so I shared it in the general chat earlier today uh it was just a brief picture of us taking pictures for eBay and the warehouse I'll just um reply to it in the general chat in case nobody saw it this one um so we set it up relatively easily so I just got a wooden dowel from Home Depot got a roll of white craft paper from I believe it was Michaels uh mounted two uh coat hooks on
(19:25) the wall and then set that white paper on the wall and then we just pull that down the wall and then across the table just so it's a completely white seamless surface and then we just have like a some lighting kits with some light diffusion set up when we want to take bulk photos and that just helps make the photos pop a little bit more and it helps uh ensure that we have proper lighting you don't have to go that extreme but we do it just when we're listing like a lot of stuff in a day but yeah it's pretty simple it can
(19:53) cost you like a couple bucks to set something like that up if you don't have that realistically you can just set up like a table up against the wall uh with in a wet room and that should work EXA perfectly fine for yourself oops clicked on that guy by accident okay so uh I wanted to answer rizzy's question here first about uh seller details uh so with yourself when you are a brand new seller on eBay that does matter and I'm going to pull up some listings here for an example so this is my eBay account right here so like as I said I'm
(20:29) not Super Active on eBay I kind of do it as a hobby I enjoy selling eBay uh Amazon is work eBay to me is kind of fun uh but we had we do have a decent amount of listings on eBay we do sell multiple thousands of dollars per month on eBay um but if you look at some of our listings I'm going to pull some of these guys up here so I try to make our listings as clear as possible so again distraction Fe free background making sure that the uh the title of listings are very clear and very data driven and have all the
(21:01) details that somebody needs in the title so kind of mentioned in the tips to optimize eBay listings uh I always ensure not to include details in there that are not relevant to the listing and always include the details like what it's for the model numbers things of that nature and then obviously you want to be ensured that you're pric competitively so when you are a brand new seller the quality your listings is really going to matter because you want your listing to uh Stand Out compared to other people's listings and you also
(21:30) want to make sure that you're really price competitive so if you don't have any feedback if you don't have any history on eBay whatsoever uh you are probably going to be less likely to make those sales so to compensate for that you want to ensure you have very quality listings very quality photos a lot of photos if possible and then also probably on the lower end of the of the price Spectrum if you are more established if you have really high quality listings if you have a lot more seller feedback um you can can often
(21:58) command a higher price uh a lot of people are more willing to pay a higher price with you when you are a more established seller so Rizzy does that kind of answer your question for that do you have do you want any more clarification for that at all yeah I know that was it yeah thank you for sure so like with this item here I believe this item here I don't think it's a super high volume item this is just something that I think one of my staff picked up for super cheap at an uh thrift store I'm just going to look this
(22:26) guy up so I just look up things by the model number I'm just going to duplicate this page here and I just when I'm looking at listings if uh if I'm looking at something that I want to buy I always look at how many listings are currently active how many have sold and what the kind of going price is right now so with this item here uh I don't believe this is something that we would normally purchase to sell but I think it's just something they picked up for five bucks when they at the thrift store so it's like whatever if it sits around for a
(22:56) long time it's not a big deal to us um but for this item right here there are 10 active results for this guy and it looks like we have one listed at 80 for parts only uh it's not tested uh ours I believe as far as I know it's tested it's working uh we see other listings for like 60 80 bucks so it looks like a going reasonable price for this item is about $80 uh for active listings right now then I would always look at the sold items as well and from here you can see how many items have sold in the last 90 days
(23:28) on eBay it always shows you the results for the last 90 uh I always like to include the worldwide filter just to ensure that we're not missing any results and for here uh we have six results that I've sold in the last 90 days and we can see that on average it's sold for like 80 120 65 so the sold prices are about the same as the active listings so it's fair fairly reasonable that probably sell for like around 80 bucks with this item it's not very high volume whatsoever like this is a relatively low volum low
(23:59) volume item um it has six sold results and there's 10 active listings so that means that those 10 that are currently listed if everything is equal in theory those 10 that are listed will probably sell in about four to six months time uh with the current sell through rate that we see so this is not high volume for this particular listing whatsoever and again this is something that I would typically not really purchase but because we picked it up for five bucks and it was work I think it was just something that we just decided you know
(24:29) we're going to make 70 bucks on it's fine to sit on our Shelf for that period of time right okay okay that's a good good point so you're saying the ROI here is pretty huge so as long as the ROI above what 100% then you're okay you're saying that's a good strategy to list something even if it sits there for f month it all it all depends on you your business business style your capital and what kind of storage space you have as well so obviously if you're working out of like a one-bedroom apartment and you have no
(25:05) storage space it may not be viable to start stacking your shelves or your room with a bunch of stuff right if you have if you have excess space if you have a good storage system uh having stuff like that sit around is probably not as as bad of a thing especially if it's a high investment so the way I look at things when it comes to eBay uh if I'm going to have things uh sit around for a long time I want my return to be relatively high right I don't want to look at items that I'm going to say spend $20 on and
(25:33) make $5 profit if it's going to take me a month or more to sell that item whereas with Amazon we regularly buy items for like 12 15 20 bucks that profit us like three four $5 but we sell multiples per month like um we we can sell multiples hundreds of units of that per month whereas with eBay a lot of those listings are probably not going to be that case for eBay eBay is more so a place for one-offs use items uh Collectibles inventory that you didn't sell through on Amazon you can find items that sell through consistently on
(26:07) eBay it's just not as common as what it would be on Amazon like you're probably not going to open up like a grocery store on eBay like you would with Amazon right it's a very different it's a very different Market very different customer base and so one last question and you also mentioned like how did you arrive at that four or six month um you know estimate is it based on so just kind of doing some um some math based on the current um sold over the last 90 and how many listings are currently active so like with most
(26:42) platforms uh with Amazon included uh history does tend to repeat itself demand for most items unless there's like a random spike it tends to say relatively consistent so like with this item like I mentioned it's uh it has sold six in the last 90 days so in theory it should sell six every 90 days or so right it may fluctuate a little bit it may sell five it may sell like say eight or nine depending on the demand but an average this will probably sell six units per 90 days so unless you really undercut the market and somebody
(27:14) just sees a really good deal um in theory six of these units will sell in 90 days so if we go six every 90 uh six every 3 months so it sells about two per month right so there's 10 active listings so we'll uncheck the sold filter or sorry there's 22 when we originally I thought there was 10 so there's 22 so the 22 that are listed right here right now will probably take about 10 months to sell through obviously there's a little bit more Nuance that goes into that because the people that are priced very high or
(27:47) that really have really high shipping they probably won't sell through their units oras with the people that are priced lower or that have higher quality listings they will probably sell theirs more quickly like this guy here may not be as uh prone to sell his listing versus like somebody up here um but maybe this is tested maybe this is Parts only so like there's kind of um quite a few different factors that go into it right all G ask one more question yeah the are you targeting because I see a lot of uh sellers here the shipping
(28:20) from Usos or to us you don't care really if you're listing something if you're targeting us or Canada does it matter or the reason why I ask is if it makes sense if you have a warehouse in the US or like if you're dealing with the prep Center it makes sense to ship the like you have some products that you know you're going to make more money if you sell them in the US and make it easier and just ship it over to prep Center so yeah like that's going to be dependent on the prep Center if they would specifically do eBay listings for
(28:53) you uh not many prep Centers do if they do um I've heard of a couple that do um most of them it's really relatively reasonable for them to manage it for you but you also have to factor in like the monthly fees for them to store it for you um if you do sell items to somebody in the US and you have those items located in the US chances are you will probably get much better shipping rates to people in the US just because shipping overall is a lot cheaper in the US that's not something that I'm overly concerned about I just try to be price
(29:22) competitive on the current market and we always ensure that we offer us and international shipping but you'd be surprised I actually sell quite a bit of my stuff to Residents in Canada oh nice okay thank you but yeah like if there's something that is more prone to sell in the US that might be a good play Chances Are you'll probably get better shipping rates that way uh I'm hoping in the very near future when we have um when we have better options for shipping in the server we should be able to get much cheaper shipping rates
(29:51) for the server overall and it should actually be more comparable to the rates that you would get in the us hopefully okay so that would be fantastic because even with eBay because of the shipping rates that is why I think I was kind of backed off from it even though I didn't even realize I actually signed up for an ebay account but the fbm even with Amazon that is why so many people back off as well because of the shipping rates for sure but you just have to consider uh the overall marketplace right so with Amazon in general more
(30:35) people are uh used to getting free shipping Prime shipping Etc whereas with eBay it's a lot more common that they're going to be charge shipping so just because you're charging ship on eBay doesn't necessarily deter your customer there are some places in the US US sellers that offer free shipping to us residents uh but it all depends on the item and I find that previously uh from the market research that I've done from the sellers that I follow uh that was a lot more common a few years ago in the US a lot more sellers specifically in
(31:08) the US are now doing calculated shipping even in the US itself they're shipping is still cheaper like they can send an item like a pair of shoes across the US for like like five bucks seven bucks um whereas with us it probably cost like 20 bucks to get to the customer um but I don't think that's as much of a barrier as what as what it used to be [Music] okay so Muhammad does that kind of answer your question as well about big sellers in like overall sell through rate yeah thank you okay perfect okay so um just because I have
(31:47) the list here and because we're on some listings uh Janine you mentioned about legging and photos uh I believe I mentioned about that um you don't need anything fancy if we do look at the uh the tips to optimize eBay listings here you can find something that will help you enhance your photos like this is a little photo box this would obviously only work for items that are smaller items uh this will not work for items that are very large but you can pick up something like this on Amazon for relatively cheap it just gives you a
(32:16) super clean white crispy background and a lot of these as well they also come with lights uh that go next to them I'm not sure if this particular box comes with lights but you can can find some that kind of sit on the outside and helps diffuse the light that goes into the box and the purpose of that is just so that you have clean light that comes through for the items and it's Shadow free so a lot of people when they take professional photos they they don't they don't want Shadows because they consider those distractions and that takes away
(32:46) from the pictures I don't think if you're just kind of a casual eBay seller you have to go that extreme but having a little photo box or making something like I kind of mentioned earlier uh yourself I think can kind of really level up your listings uh with myself I'll kind of show you um we have like a diffused light kit and again you can find these relatively cheap on eBay so you can get something just like this like with these tents and that hook up to a light you just put a regular light bulb in there and it just diffuses the light when it
(33:21) comes to your items so the picture that I took today that's in the general chat we have uh multiple those umbrellas we have ones that are like um they reflect backwards so they don't have the light box in the front they have um kind of like a reflective material and it we we turn it backwards and reflects the light onto onto the item and then we have one on the table that's like this that we point directly at the item and it um it diffuses the light directly onto the item but again like with something like this again if you're just a casual
(33:52) seller I don't think you necessarily need these things you just want to make sure you're in a well lit and environment any other questions on the lighting or anything else that we covered so far okay so um before we get into looking at uh kale and Teresa's listings here I also wanted to answer the question from Janine kind of how to find viable items on Ebay so we don't have as much software and tools available for eBay as we do with Amazon a lot of finding stuff on eBay is just kind of manually looking it up um when you asked Janine earlier
(34:37) about like hot items that don't have um or like new items that could potentially be hot a lot of those things we are using the information that's available to us to make guesstimation if they're going to be popular so some good examples for those ones would be like the Lan the uh Laney uh Laney Wilson Stanley that recently released we didn't have any sales history on those guys but we just made some assumptions based on previous drops that uh she did with Stanley those sold very well so we were making some assumptions with this drop
(35:10) if they sold out that they would still command a good price and they would likely still have a good sell through because she's a popular uh music artist right same with like the the the Jack skelington dolls uh that released uh last month we made some assumptions based on the demand for those types of items and assuming that they were limited stock which they were and that they were going to sell out which they did we made some assumptions that those were going to sell well and at a higher than um retail price so with new items
(35:41) we're kind of looking at the data that's available to us and make and making some assumptions uh with other items we can evaluate the market kind of like how I mentioned earlier we can look at how many listings are currently active we can do the sold listings filter to see how many have sold in the last night 90 days and then we can use that to make some educated guesses and that would be kind of like our our method on eBay versus like using like a keepo chart on Amazon so we can still get like a lot of really good solid data and really make
(36:10) some good solid guesstimation it's just a different way to do it on eBay versus Amazon okay so Amazon generally is more about metrics and numbers obviously right and keep a chart so on and so forth and eBay is a new learning her where we have to go upon the gut or or things that potentially look popular so on and so forth is that correct that only applies for items that don't have any history on eBay so like if you look through my eBay store like these are uh I do have some items that we bought that were new right but like a lot of them
(36:51) are like just like random thrifted items or random Electronics a lot of these items have um sales history so we're not making any assumption for these items like these tasos uh let's look up this guy I'm going to pull up one of these guys for example so this is just a used tasot I'm going to look up the model number let's go over here so we can see that for this specific model number there are currently four active results on eBay and they're selling for 75 bucks for ones that are working and we look at sold listings and we see that 12 have sold in
(37:26) the last 90 days with this specific model number and they're selling for 50 70 80 some parts are selling for uh for Less so with this one we have data that this is what it's actively selling for and uh at least 12 have sold in the last 90 days so we're not making assumptions that like this is a brand new item that's dropping we can see the sales data that's available to us for items that are brand new that have no sales history on eBay right now those are items that you kind of have to assess the overall demand for for it and kind
(37:57) of use your gut so in that aspect for those items it's very different than what uh than what it would be on Amazon understood so for all the items that people think that are used people are throwing away so on and so forth this is where you come into this situation where it actually is viable yeah so like with with a lot like these used electronics for example um I enjoy in whatever spare time that I have um going places like garage sales thrift stores Etc that is relatively exciting for me like going treasure hunting so
(38:34) quite often I'll pick up random things like this if I'm there and I can see that it would make a profit so like for example this tasmo is actually something that we just picked up yesterday uh we picked up a couple tasos at Valley Village they were five bucks each right and I saw that they actively sold for like 50 60 70 bucks so I was like cool I can buy this if um for for me what I do is I buy this I'm going to th store I pass it off to one of my employees to clean test it list it so it's a very minimal uh time cost investment for me
(39:05) if it was myself that was listing it I was just I want to make sure that my time is going to be um my time my profit is going to match the time it's going to take me for this item so like on average for an eBay listing with your photos by the time you list it Etc it should probably take you about 10 minutes or so once you get proficient with it and then you just have to make sure that uh if it needs excess cleaning if it's if it's really dirty if you have to do like a lot of testing that your profit that you
(39:34) stand to make is going to account for that so like with this item like they were relatively clean uh I plugged it in when uh I was at Value Village and I saw that it turned on so I was pretty confident it was going to work so with this it was basically almost no C no time cost investment for me we stand after fees to make probably about 40 50 bucks so I was like yeah spend $5 to make 50 that's worth it for us so I'm I'm pretty sure I'm going off on some tangents there but I'm hoping all that makes sense no it's and I very much appreciate
(40:09) it because a lot of people especially this time of year are getting rid of a lot of things because they're expecting new things for Christmas or Black Friday sale sold and so forth even items that are 5 years old uh the other thing is as well if it doesn't come with the box I know you've got a this is way off topic maybe not but how do you guesstimate how you're actually going to ship it and what to C or to charge for it as well and then how does that offset your cost when you're looking at something $5 is a
(40:43) different story finding something but if you purchase something and then you find out afterwards it's kind you got to buy a box find a box got to try and pack it you see where I'm going kind of for sure and those are all good questions so I would say in general as a an Amazon Seller you probably have access to most of the shipping supplies you already need I would assume that you probably already have a shipping scale tape those types of things right uh when it comes to boxes you can basically make anything work for eBay so uh with eBay obviously
(41:19) I would always recommend that if you're buying new stuff make sure your stuff is clean before you take photos um do a good job scrubbing it making sure it's clean if it looks dirty and gross and grimy you're going to be um a lot less chance of actually selling it um and then when you're presenting items to customers like when you're actually sending it to them uh presentation does matter um once it's sold it's sold like it's not like it's not like a huge deal if you're not making it look super fancy but you just want to make sure that they
(41:47) are secured in boxes they're not going to break and that they don't look all [ __ ] up when your customer gets it right so like for example um a little while ago I sold a a record um what I did is I just cut down a I believe I made it fit into a medium U-Haul box so that's super big right I'm not going to obviously use a a medium U-Haul box for a vinyl record I didn't have like a a shipping record sleeve that was that size so what I did is I put some packing paper below it and on the sides I put the record on top some more packing
(42:20) paper and then I cut down the box where you just uh cut uh slits in all the edges and fold it over and then you just kind of make your own Franken box right so then that basically brought down to the size of the record cut off the excess cardboard tape it up and then put your shipping label on that and the customer left me a review said they received it it was super well packed and they were very impressed and I was just I just made sure that the record wasn't going to get damaged on the way to the customer but you you can use really you
(42:47) can reuse any of the boxes that you have like Amazon boxes um any of the boxes you get um for your products for OA products or whatever you can reuse all those guys to send items um from eBay when it comes to listing them I would always just overestimate your measurements and your weight a little bit so like for example with these tasos when we're listing them today um I believe these guys I want to say that they were like 4 point something kgs I believe so what we do is we just overestimate so we input a weight of 5
(43:21) kgs and then when we're measuring these guys I just take out a a little measure tape and say this uh tells me that length it's 30 cm width 30 cm and it's I don't know 40 cm tall I would just overestimate that a bit because we're going to be putting in a box with packing material so instead of like 30 by 30 x 40 I'll probably input the dimensions of like 40 x 40 x 50 and then that should more than cover you for any additional cost that you may incur for eBay and then that should ensure that your customer gets charged accordingly
(43:54) and you will not have to pay additional amount okay so on a used item so obvious just a square or something square and even a utility knife instead of buying a resizer for boxes right um as well what about your refund policy for an item that you've purchased like this like a lot of like brand new items 30 days I understand this but a used item what would be your policy as well for returns and refunds so obviously with most items uh that you're selling I would always recommend that assuming that the profit is going to make sense
(44:39) for you to test it um if you're ever going to sell something that's not tested I would recommend that you indicate it in the listing uh and sell it as Parts only um like sometimes you see listings where it says Parts only those are ones that are not tested um with returns a lot of people have mixed opinions when it comes to Returns on eBay I always offer 30-day no question asked returns but the buyer is required to pay shipping to return it to me and I always state in my listings that it has to be in the same condition as when it
(45:13) was sent to the customer so eBay is more liberal to work with sellers versus like with Amazon like with Amazon you don't really have a choice if something gets returned um with eBay eBay is still more prone to side with um buyers as they should be because that is what really makes the platform but if you have done your due diligence you uh made good photos you indicated everything is solid on the listing um if somebody is trying to screw you over on a listing or on a purchase eBay is more prone to side with
(45:45) you as long as you've done your due diligence um but like I said I always offer free 30-day returns just as long as the customer pays for return shipping and that it comes back back to me in the same condition um I've only I've never had uh somebody ever ask for a return on uh eBay I've only had issue with one product and I believe I mentioned this in the other video that I released and it was 100% my fault I shipped a coffee mug I know when I put it in the Box it was not a box that was big enough for it and like the handle was 100% push right
(46:21) up against the box it was kind of like protruding from the box and so the customer gone it uh they sent me pictures that it was broken did not surprise me whatsoever it was 100% my fault so in that case I just simply uh issued the customer refund and said sorry they sent me photos proved it was broken so I mean it was just a learning experience I shouldn't have I should have used a bigger box with everything else I I offer the 30-day returns because in my opinion it offers it instills more confidence in your buyer
(46:48) that they're just guaranteed to receive something that's working uh if they ever have issues and they want to return it and they see that you know was going to cost them 30 bucks to return it to you chances are they're probably not going to do that and they would just keep the item if something is actually [ __ ] up on it I would encourage you to work with the buyer and probably refund them a portion of the purchase depending on what's wrong with it especially if it's your fault thank you very valid points something I wouldn't have thought
(47:18) of for sure and yeah like with eBay it's obviously um as I mentioned in that walkthrough video you do have to do a little bit more customer service on eBay it's not a lot like you don't really have to answer a lot of questions but you do have to accept offers you do have to ship out the items uh you will have to answer some questions here and there so those are things you obviously just want to factor in if you are wanting to sell on eBay um it is like I mentioned I do feel like I'm kind of like a spoiled little Amazon [ __ ] because you don't
(47:46) have to do that on Amazon uh but with eBay I compensate for that for just higher profit margin items just one other quick thing Jordan I will try and be quiet here but the remember I text you about the I think it was two or three that I had were spam or something where they were trying to get you to text or numbers and new sellers might actually try and text them don't do it you told me don't do it and I didn't do it anyway but this is something maybe other people should be aware of as well so yeah and that's a really good point and I
(48:27) appreciate you bringing that up so if you are brand new on eBay and have no feedback chances are with some of your listings you will be targeted by people that are 100% trying to scam you and they do that by trying to uh tell you to take the conversation off of eBay and then try to make the purchases privately uh I never recommend that you take any Communications or any purchases off of eBay because then you no longer have those protections so what a lot of these people will do is they try to say you know text me or or send me a message on
(48:56) WhatsApp and we'll discuss it privately and then what they'll do is they'll okay they'll say cool I'll send you the money you send it to me and it's all good uh a lot of those people they're sending payments via stolen credit cards or they're going to send payments via Paypal which you may think is secure but then they dispute it with PayPal say it's an unauthorized transaction etc etc so once the item has shipped and you're not able to get it back they dispute it they get refunded and you're out of an item and you have no protection because
(49:23) you're not doing it through eBay so always keep on eBay and if you ever like if a buyer tries to say oh like um sell it to me privately so we don't have to incur any of these fees uh eBay has systems in place where they automatically detect those conversations and if you do do that uh and their algorithm picks up that you're trying to sell something outside their platform when it was initiated in their platform they will charge you those fees anyway even if you didn't sell it through eBay so I 100% recommend always keep it on
(49:54) the platform don't ever don't ever take take it off once you have some feedback on a listing uh you'll see that you'll have less and less of those people try to contact you I never get those now but I remember like many many years ago when I first started selling on eBay through different accounts even through this account um that it happened quite quite a lot and it'll happen until you start getting um you know a couple feedback on there cool so with everything that we discussed so far did anybody have any
(50:25) other questions comments concerns about anything that we discussed so far cool so we're good uh Kale did you want to if you're comfortable did you want to uh send me a link to your eBay store and we can start looking through some of the stuff that you have there um yeah give me a second I'm just doing that right now for sure okay s okay cool we will pull that up here so just one second and you're are you you are cool with me putting this on the screen and sharing with everybody yeah 100% man okay perfect Okay cool so looks like uh we
(51:26) have some active items so that's cool and so yeah like what kale mentioned is he has some feedback as a customer on eBay and that's kind of a hack you can do especially if you're brand new because when people look at feedback uh feedback is feedback on eBay they don't specifically look too deep into your profile in general because you can get feedback as a buyer and you can get feedback as a seller so some hacks that people do especially when you first start off it just buy a few like cheap things on eBay like say even if you just
(51:53) find like some generic Chinese thing like little pieces or parts that you may need for something um or just something that in general you need stock up on uh just making some purchases can uh increase your feedback uh that's a nice little hack you can do as well you know buy a couple items for like two three bucks a pop and then that can kind of get your foot in the door so let's take a look at some of your listings here so it looks like some of your pictures are pretty solid uh looks like we have some pre-order items so let's take a look at
(52:19) the Taylor CDs here so you mentioned that you're having a problem selling these guys right yeah so these ones I was late to the game I was late to the game cuz I didn't know you could pre-list them uh so I listed them way later uh once the hype was dead so it only makes sense that you know I'm not having much luck with this one okay so what I'm going to do is I'm just going to try and gauge the market right now so I believe um when these when we got notified about these restocks these were previously selling relatively well and
(52:52) you bought them when they weren't originally released I believe you bought them when they restocked correct yeah I think I got them when they restocked okay so let's take a peek at these guys so we see some active listings right now for relatively High um asking price doesn't always matter the only thing that really matters is how much you're actively selling for so we see some for 50 90 bucks so you may see something like that you're like oh I'm going to make a [ __ ] ton of money on these you always want to look at what
(53:18) they're currently listed for and what they're actively selling for so we see some listed for cheaper 24 do you mind me ask asking your all-in cost for how much these actually cost you to get them to yourself yeah let me let me just pop it up here I think it was exactly 30 bucks each um $31 each was my cost my true cost okay so when I'm gauging this guy here so I see 55 results have sold and let's look back at how many are active here so we have 54 that are active so when I look at that one I would say that this item has 100% sell
(53:53) through rate so B basically everything that is has been active has sold in the last 90 days so that's good that means that it's selling through at a relatively decent pace uh so let's look at our solds here so we do see some solds recently for 46 some for 20 some for 30 some for 50 uh quite a few for 50 40 so the market is kind of all over the place on this guy so it's kind of surprising to me that you haven't sold them at that lower price cuz what do you pric at like 25 bucks yeah 2471 yeah that's yeah that's what that's what I'm
(54:28) saying I'm kind of surprised too so um you know I I I I remember we kind of did this one together this listing together because I had a question about the weight and the dimensions um so I think you know if people sort by like you know people are looking for this item and they sort by lowest price plus shipping mine should be you know up up there right so the fact that some have sold recently for even more than what I'm asking is is obviously concerning to me like why am I not getting the sale and why is someone
(55:02) getting the sale who's selling it for a higher price than me for sure and these are really these are really good questions to ask let's actually look at the listing itself I believe this one is no that one's not yours this one's yours here I think yeah that's me right there yeah okay so we have a photo it looks like a live inhand photo so that's good you use my template so that's solid yeah okay so yeah I don't see anything wrong with this listing and this is actually a good case study so in general with eBay
(55:37) uh I would always lower your expectations for how long something is going to take to sell in general too unless it's a super hot item uh because in general most of the demand on eBay is not as high as what something would be on Amazon and that's why I try to find items generally that make up for in high higher profit margins uh with this item though like it has a good sell through rate and you are priced very competitively so it's very curious as to why it's not selling uh for this one on the back end can you check what your dimensions are
(56:09) and your weight is got one second okay so with this guy I have it listed at uh 115 grams um and uh 1555 for Dimension which is you know pretty standard cuz I I I have like those sleeves the bubble sleeve so I think I just put the CD in there and I kind of just measured it with the sleeve okay the mailer the mailer bubble uh bubble whatever bubble mailers okay and so yeah that's completely reasonable so with this listing let me ask so once you listed it have you kind of left it alone have you done anything else with the
(56:58) listing like have you ended it and relisted it at all oh this this one I think renews in uh let me just check when it renews so then I can tell you if I've relisted it or not uh so this one I uh it renews in 17 days so I think I had relisted it two weeks ago um so I haven't taken it down since okay and when you are relisting something do you mind me asking your process of what you're doing to do so yeah no problem so I'm just going to like say my active I'm going to my eBay I'm going to the active section and then I just go to um uh end
(57:43) listing yep and then once I'm done end listing I go into my unsold and then I kind of just uh you know make any changes to the price for or whatnot and then I I relisted from there okay cool so uh for anybody that's not aware um when on eBay specifically I do recommend regularly what's called refreshing your listings and so that's basically just ending them like kale mentioned and then relisting them so you just come into your active listings you can click on any ones that you want and then you can click um edit or actions
(58:20) you click end listings and then that those will then go into your unsold listings up here then you can go into it and then you can click relist and that basically refreshes your listing and kind of brings you back to the top ranks right so when somebody searches it just by default uh without applying any additional filters then you should be closer to the top because yours is a newly listed item so I do recommend for a lot of items to do that on a regular basis on eBay I would even say probably like about like once a week right so
(58:49) Kale like with that with this particular listing I don't see anything that's wrong with it I'm quite surprised you haven't sold it yet uh yeah I would honestly just wait and it wouldn't surprise me if you would if you will sell it obviously monitor the market in my opinion you should be able to sell it for more um like real realistically you should be able to sell it for like 40 to 50 bucks but again I would say that it might take you like a month or two to sell it so I I would I would watch it I would regularly end it and relist it and
(59:22) yeah to be honest like if you want to clear it out leave it at the price that it's at but I would say you should be able to demand more for it okay all right cool awesome I will do that thank you out of curiosity kale do you have a sponsored is a sponsored listing or Jordan could you please explain what sponsored listings are yeah so kale do you want to ask that question first or do you have this guy sponsored at all yeah no so I I don't have this one sponsored I have sponsored some of the other items that I sold I
(59:55) mentioned earlier I sold some old electronics from around the house y um so I did sponsor those just because those kind of keeps it on the top there so it's you know easy easier for people to see and I kind of keep my sponsored you know depending if I really want to liquidate the item and and you know it's just pure profit for me like you know old junk around the house then I would maybe go with the suggested rate that they suggest sometimes it's 9% 10 % 12% but say for example um I sponsored like say the a Barbie doll um I only kept that I asked
(1:00:33) Jordan about it and Jordan and even Vinnie said Keep It Low keep it at 2% 3% maybe four so I kind of just you know if I don't uh want to liquidate something and I'm not in a rush I will only keep my sponsored uh percentage at about 2% okay great okay thank thank you for answering I have seen I'm very very very new and I've seen this sponsor your item and I'm I don't want to press the button cuz I don't know what anything's all about as well so the sponsored listings on uh eBay they would be very similar to like a PPC listing on Amazon they have
(1:01:14) different um payments criteria so like with PPC on Amazon you pay a set amount whatever your bid is per every person that clicks on your listing a sponsor listing with eBay for the standard sponsors uh you just pay a additional percentage whatever you input if somebody purchases your item through that sponsor listing uh kale are you trying to talk there I hear some feedback from your no no no okay sorry I'm not sponsor because I'm not familiar with it is that something you recommend that we do or just uh what's your wisdom here so in
(1:01:52) general yes I would so my my Outlook on sponsor listings on eBay is very similar to PPC campaigns on Amazon with Amazon in general pretty much all of our SKS are in just a generic low bid PPC campaign on Amazon right so it's just very low bid you know a couple cents Max budget of like 20 bucks per day and we get a ton of additional sales from PPC on Amazon and same kind of applies to eBay so I just do a very low sponsor rate so generally if it's items that I'm not worried about clearing out right away I'll do a very low percentage
(1:02:27) across the board and mine is typically about 2% so when you list an item on eBay it'll be at the very bottom it asks you if you want to sponsor the listing you can put yes and then it asks you what percentage you want to put and in theory the higher the percentage is the more exposure eBay is going to give your listing so like if this person puts that they have theirs at 2% and this person puts that theirs uh is at 5% this person will probably be above this person more often and eBay will display that listing
(1:02:57) to more people more often I don't find that a lot of eBay sellers utilize sponsored posts a ton on eBay so it's still relatively new so that's why having even a low amount still kind of puts you above a lot of the competition um so you may not be in the number one spot but you will probably be in number two or number three so just having a very small amount that really doesn't add on a lot to your additional fees I think can be pretty viable and get you more exposure so yeah if you're just doing like say 2% say you sell an item
(1:03:28) that's I don't know 50 bucks an extra 2% I'm not going at Mass let me calculate that out you would pay an additional $1 in fees to eBay for that and for my in my opinion if you do have the additional exposure you do have an additional Edge paying that additional dollar is well worth it basically you have to do the math see if that 2% how much of your total Roi will take away yeah is that yeah yeah like in general like say you're doing 2% it's not going to cost you a lot in general right if you're selling items
(1:04:00) that cost you multiple thousands of dollars you might want to reconsider but if it's a very um hot category or it's selling a lot or there's a lot of listings that 2% could actually uh help you sell your listing a lot quicker because you are getting more eyeballs you are now going to be at the top of the list awesome thank you 100% so yeah kale with that as well like so with this particular item if you're going to maintain the pricing lower where you're indicating that you may be uh selling at a small loss you may not want to um but
(1:04:35) it probably would help even like so say you sell it for 25 bucks that's going to be what 50 cents in additional fees that would probably help you liquidate it a bit quicker like I said I believe you probably could come out a higher price I would personally I'd probably list like 40 50 bucks sponsor it wait like a month and see if it sells that's what I would personally do oh um sorry one more question so on Amazon as you know like there's the buy box but that's totally algorithm what's the equivalent uh if there is any such in eBay is it just the
(1:05:17) like your rank on the list or is it something else so there's no obviously there's no buy box on eBay I know that eBay has had some talks where they're going to start introducing a system like that in the future I'm not sure if they decided that they will be um but I've heard that eBay may switch their system so it's more like Amazon so you just have one General listing and then all the sellers on that listing I don't know if they will do that because they've been the way that they are right now for like 30 plus years however long they've
(1:05:44) been around um but to get ranked higher on eBay One is using your good keywords in your title that's going to matter a lot and then being at the top is by default your uh your sort method is best match and generally speaking as far as we know for eBay the newer listings are always near the top that's generally how it is right so you're going to always see your sponsored listings first and then you're going to see the newer the newer listed items uh there are people that will obviously use the filters and filter by lowest first or highest first
(1:06:18) Etc but your default option is always best match and they're always going to be the newer listings on top so that's why I recommend about uh refreshing your listings every now and again like do it once a week where you end them and then relist them because that will bring your listing back to the top and get more eyeballs on it one more question so you said how good your listing is right if you see a good listing can you can we not just rip it off and copy how they done it and basically try a mimic is is that okay or
(1:06:51) 100% then that's really that's realistically incorrect encourage it on eBay so when you list something on eBay you can click on a listing and you can you can see where it says have one to sell sell it yourself you click that and it takes all those details for you from this listing it'll take the the keywords it'll take all all the the data in the back end and populate it in your own listing the only thing it will not copy for you is the description and your dimensions and shipping options so yes it's encouraged I obviously would not
(1:07:18) recommend stealing somebody else's photos if it's a stock photo from the website whatever like this one like these look like live inhand photos I wouldn't say take their photos I would say either use stock photos if you do not have the item or take your own live photos but yeah besides that 100% always piggyback off other people's listings that's the best way to list it on eBay in my opinion just a quick comment I tried to picky back off of a US listing and I recall in the guide resources and guides and stuff making sure it wasca
(1:07:55) but I did try and picky back off a it was supposed to be it doesn't matter at capango to.com so yeah so that is and that's something discussing here as well so show you I'm ahead of myself here so it says we discovered a simple workaround to address this problem by using the eBay mobile app you can search the keywords and click the same sell yourself Button as mentioned above so this has been a glitch on eBay for quite a long time it used to be where you'd find a listing that's from a US seller you click sell it yourself it would say
(1:08:31) ebay.com at the top so you would not have the option for Canadian shipping options so you could before you could just change that Toca and it would fix itself right now over like the last year for some reason it doesn't work that way so the way that we found a work around is that you use the eBay app you search your keywords on the eBay app you click sell it yourself on the eBay app save it for later save it as a draft and then you can come into your drafts on your eBay list it and then you won't have that problem it'll be Canadian you'll
(1:09:01) have Canadian shipping options and it'll work good okay so I I did vaguely see that and I wasn't using the app I was I kept on doing it with the computer and I was just no I'm just gonna start my own my own thing so yeah and like with that so if you make your own listing from scratch you won't have that problem uh if you try to piggyback off a listing that is from a Canadian seller you will not have that problem but if you try to pick you back off a listing that's um from any seller that's outside the country you will have that issue uh so
(1:09:32) yeah what we do is when we're listing like say today I don't know I think 20 items or so got listed today what we do is we just look up every single item on the eBay app uh click sell it yourself save for later do all the drafts and then we just come into our drafts on uh the desktop and finish all our work there is it safe to say as well that when you go into the the sold so on and so forth even though the sellers are from the US you're on the CAA site is that just is that that's just solely showing what sold on the Canadian
(1:10:11) site is it not no it it depends on what filters you have so if you have over here uh if you have your item location set to within like say 100 km of yourself yes but that by default it should show you almost all the listings uh but I always like to click worldwide down here and that should show you everything that has sold worldwide which in this case it was 55 it's still 55 so these are all the results that have sold on eBay worldwide not just in Canada that's interesting because that changes the metrics of the whole
(1:10:46) situation then of an item for sure and you can get a lot more detail CU like eBay is definitely an international marketplace place so we we can sell the customers all over the world and that's kind of what we want to base our market off of right so like we can see like a lot of these items have shipped from the US from the UK um it's adjusted currency for our Market because we're on ebay.
(1:11:07) ca but yeah these guys have all sold for these corresponding prices okay so that's why it's important to um make it available internationally as well is that correct yeah so like I have I do sell a lot of stuff to Canadians and we do have that Advantage for the Canadian Market itself if we have Canadians looking for those items um but uh I never want to limit my customer base so it's involves no additional work to ship stuff internationally um it's the exact same process as if you ship any other regular items so I always say don't limit
(1:11:44) yourself and open yourself up to that market especially the US just because there's so many more people there but I say internationally as well like I've sold stuff to people in Japan so you might as well have those options for you how much does it cost to ship to Japan uh wonder the items that we sold were like these uh Olex hair kits that you're not allowed to buy personally uh they were like Olex um they're only supposed to be for hair stylist uh see if I I don't have them anymore but let's see what they are here but I think
(1:12:18) shipping they it came in like its own shipping box um it wasn't overly big but it weighed I think about 2 3 Kg um I sold a couple of those to people in Japan uh I think they ended up paying close to like a 100 bucks in shipping and they were relatively expensive kits like I think we sold them for like 400 bucks a pop or something uh so yeah they're like this guy right here like I think this was the exact kit right here um so yeah I think they paid like three 400 bucks for the kit and then like another 100 bucks for shipping and
(1:12:49) I sold I sold I think three or four to people in Japan I think they just like lightning their hair or something I'm not sure exactly what it's for nice and has anybody had any luck selling the steam the deck yet the steam deck the ol one anybody buy those so I did not personally buy those because I don't have a steam account I couldn't buy them but let's take a look let's take a look at that guy so that was the limited edition uh one terabyte option right yeah cool and so what was your buy cost on these guys all said and
(1:13:31) done N9 and a quarter 925 925 okay so 925 cost so let's take a look at your listing if we can find it here let me just repoll up your storefront and we'll analyze this guy yeah so yeah the reason why I pull up the Taylor swist website is I just want to see if that CD is sold out which it is is and that's part of the reason why I said I believe you should be able to command a higher price cuz it's not available Taylor Swift is still hot and it does look like it's still actively selling for like 40 50 bucks so I
(1:14:04) believe you should still be able to sell for that price okay cool cool okay so we have your listing confirmed order uh firstly what I'd recommend is where it says confirmed order change that to pre-sale um so if you look like in our resources about listing prale items on Ebay it specifically States solicits pre-sale um if somebody complains what will happen is eBay will take down your listing because it's not following their pre-sale policy it's suppos to State pre pre-sale in the title and the description confirmed order is not
(1:14:39) pre-sale so just make sure it says pre-sale there okay so uh description and where sorry uh your title and the description title oh title and description okay so make sure it says pre-sale um do do you have an ETA of when this is going to get delivered to yourself uh yeah in the next uh in the next week or so like it's they they they told me that it's being shipped uh in the next day or so so hopefully next week I should have it okay so once it's shipped and you have tracking and you can see when it's going to be delivered
(1:15:11) to you I would recommend updating your handling time because this is going to certainly play a factor um right now it says it's going to be delivered to me by January 11th so if somebody wants this and they want it save for Christmas and they see that that's probably going to deter them so once it's shipped and you have an estimated delivery date update that guy and just give yourself like an extra couple days for buffer period so like say you get notified that's going to be delivered on Friday so that would
(1:15:36) be three business days I would say give yourself like seven business days change your handling time oh perfect and that will I believe that will increase your cell through right there just because somebody knows it's going they're going to get it quicker and once you know it's going to be delivered to you I'd also update your title to say in hand okay because then that just means uh like yeah I would update this when you have a confirmed delivery say it's in hand because chances are you're you're gonna sell it a lot
(1:16:05) quicker okay awesome awesome yeah I'm gonna actually update the listing once I get it and take pictures of it as well and update the pictures showing that it's in hand yeah so like a good example for something that was recently is those PS5 portal remotes uh so the first the first one that I got I list on eBay um I had a confirmed delivery date from Best Buy so and it was only in a couple days so I listed it you want to ensure that you're going to do it properly make sure it's confirmed you're going to for sure
(1:16:38) get it and I did that and I just indicated that I have it in hand because I knew I was going to get it I listed my handling time for seven days and I sold it the very next day and chances are if you have a confirmed pre-sale where your handing time is 30 days that's gonna be less likely to sell versus somebody that is available to ship it right now right yeah so and price price point wise what do you how do you think it's I mean uh I think on price definitely on the lower end uh I think your price I think I'm
(1:17:09) price too low yeah I think you're priced way too low so we see we see it all day here for like 1,600 bucks so I believe once you have a confirmed shipping match this pricing like say match on like the lower $1600 end so like say they go like $1599 something right and update your handling time relist your item end it relist it uh I don't think you should have a problem selling it because it does look like it's steadily selling at like 1600 bucks and you should be able to command that price yourself and so this this particular
(1:17:44) item here I believe last time I checked it's still available but the reason why this is selling is it's not publicly available it's only available to those that have had a steam account that made a purchase um so not everybody can get it and that's why that demand is still here right and this is this is a h this is certainly a holiday item we have seen some that sell for 1,300 bucks but I I would say put on for like around 16 put on offers so accept offers ENT always entertain offers and see what you can get okay amazing thank you very much for
(1:18:20) this Jordan 100% and yeah like you want to ensure that you're um maximizing your profit as much as possible right because if we're selling for like 1,200 and we minus our fees 13.25% yeah if if you only sell it for 1,200 you're only going to be making like a 100 bucks profit right 100 bucks yeah no yeah no yeah I'm definitely price too low yeah I'm going to wait for it to come in and then update that lifting pricing and pictures for sure and yeah and also so I like I mentioned I would have those details uh update
(1:18:54) your handling time once you have a confirmed shipping relist it and then once you get it in hand add a inhand uh photo on that listing add it as your primary photo your main photo and that should also help you as well right okay awesome amazing thank you very much 100% hope guys I'm sorry I hate to do this but I I'm traveling tomorrow I got an early morning and I still need to eat my dinner so uh I'm gonna jump off thank you to everyone um I wish you guys the best of luck and everything and I'll be back in a week and uh we'll chat then
(1:19:27) sounds good kale take care and enjoy your trip thank you guys take care bye bye bye all righty so anybody have any other questions about what we've discussed so far at all cool um yeah no sorry go ahead no going ask is it is it even possible to create more than one listing for the same item um just to you know test a and b see how like one listing does versus the other or do you guys ever do that I haven't personally done that but that's not a bad idea for sure I would only do that if you have multiple units available
(1:20:16) just in case to of them sell um but yeah for sure 100% that would be a good um Market tool to use good research to be done perfect okay definitely okay so Teresa if you're okay with it would you be able to send me a link to your storefront and we can take a look at some of your products okay if you want to just I think I have an idea what's what's happening in there now for sure but abely you hold yeah if you want to just direct message it to me that'd be excellent yeah sure okay and are you okay with me uh putting
(1:21:09) this on the screen and sharing it with everybody yeah perfect so we'll pull this guy up here I was initially shy to do that but let's just do it eBay I don't find it's that big of a deal to share storefronts like a lot of people are more um skeptical skeptical to do it for Amazon which is completely understandable eBay I don't think it's as as big of a deal okay so let's look at the current market for this guy so it looks like you have a pretty decent Title Here we do it looks somewhere pardon me I I copied an
(1:21:50) existing listing yeah and then nothing wrong with that looks like we have are these your photos or are these stock photos mine oh they look very clean and crispy so that's cool so let's look at iPhone did you do anything to remove the background or did you just use uh eBay's I use eBay EB uh yeah and and that's cool like a lot of people don't know how to do that like to increase like your contrast uh if you go into your um your eBay uh photos there is an edit tool where you can change like there's whatever you call like the lighting or
(1:22:23) contrast you can increase that contrast and if you have it against a solid background it gives you a a a crispy one like this and I think they also have a background removal tool as well yeah you can remove the background I did I did with that okay cool right on and yeah like one of the listings I have a save draft I was going to show everybody how to use like the contrast to remove it yourself so that's really cool okay so this is going to be the prism so let's go look up points that are red prism okay so it looks like right now we have
(1:22:56) 13 active results and let's look at our solds so we have five that have sold so this might be something that picks up a little bit more closer to Christmas um it looks like what is what was your buy cost for these guys Teresa I think it's 35 35 okay yeah so it looks like the regular Market it hasn't been selling through a ton right now looks like it might be under some additional keywords but looks like it's selling for about little bit less yeah about 50 bucks or so that's sold let's look at current active listings and then best match so 6550 55
(1:23:39) 40 75 so yeah looks like for this guy right now you're probably going to be expecting about $55 so if we if we minus eBay fees let's see what we're left with here so so uh payout after eBay fees we' be looking at about $47 so after we minus your buy cost you're looking at about a12 $13 profit per unit so these will still likely sell if you're price competitive I don't see this one being super high volume for this particular listing they should still sell they will probably pick up a little bit uh into next month like December 1 week or two
(1:24:17) uh they will probably also still command a higher price outside of Christmas because Starbucks tumblers are just something that people collect and they are limited edition so you should still be able to sell them even outside the Christmas season uh but as it is right now I would say you can probably only command about 50 55 maybe 60 bucks for this item so I would I would recommend that you drop your price a bit and I'd also recommend that you relist your item as well or refresh it okay yeah um you do you have any
(1:24:48) other questions for this particular guy at all no I think uh some of the questions were answered earlier okay oh but I I thought of one thing uh when we're um is there anything we should be avoiding or we should be doing when we l when we're uh including the international shiing okay let's take a look at that so say I want to sell this guy myself let's make a listing here so we're going through the listing process mine might look slightly different to yours I know with a brand new account sometimes it looks a little
(1:25:24) bit different um I think once you get access to like the regular whatever Stellar Hub I think most of them should look like this but in general it's about the same so when we come down to shipping as I mentioned I would always just overestimate your shipping a little bit don't overdo it because you don't want to charge ridiculous amounts for shipping so like if it weighs 1500 grams or 1.
(1:25:46) 5 kgs I would typically Round Up to 2 kgs um you can go a little bit less if you know how much your total packaging is uh for shipping options I always add for domestic um the maximum of four that I can add for some standard eBay accounts you may only be able to add two uh but you can add up to four if you have access to whatever the seller Hub is I always just for domestic I always just include whatever the cheapest options are because all these automatically include insurance and tracking for international shipping if you have only access to two shipping
(1:26:21) services I would say include one for us and one for international if you have access to four like I do here I would include two for us and two for international um for shipping It's relatively straightforward on eBay because they will not allow you to list a shipping option uh that does not apply to your package package Dimensions so like say you include a shipping option you try to choose like a small packet USA and your item does not qualify for that it'll either not display for you or when you try to list it you'll get an
(1:26:55) error and it'll tell you that you can't use that shipping option so it's relatively intuitive um when we choose our options for me personally as I mentioned in that kind of walkthrough video I always W look at the cheapest options first the cheapest option for the customer and then two if it's an expensive item and with expensive I typically say about like $150 or more I always want to ensure that we have a shipping option that says tracking included yes for items that are cheaper I'm not that concerned about tracking being included
(1:27:28) because uh they're items that are probably not a high likelihood of being scammed if it's a really high demand item if it's an electronic item like a PlayStation 5 it's a very expensive item I would say just protect your ass and include it uh include options that only have tracking included just so you have that additional layer of protection so like say with this item say I'm going to sell it for 50 bucks I'm not that concerned concerned about tracking I'm probably not that concerned about getting scammed if you have very
(1:27:56) limited cash flow and like this is all your money that's invested you probably want to include tracking but say if you have decent cash flow you're not that concerned about it I would let me just delete these guys and we'll choose all the services together here so I look at this guy and um we see economy Services standard I always just take a a a brief look through and see which one would be the cheapest let me enter in my Dimensions so it actually gives me a price so say this is 2 kg and this is going to be I don't know 30 by
(1:28:31) 30 by 40 it probably won't be that but let's just say it is so now we can see what our estimated costs are going to be based on the customer's location so I'd always just try to find what are the cheapest options are that meet my criteria so we can see that FedEx international ground is about $33 that's Che cheapest uh we don't really have any cheaper than that so I would ensure that we include that for international uh or other International options if it's International it'll say International if it's us it'll say uh us specific so non-
(1:29:06) us is international USA is uh us specific so and obviously if you don't have a FedEx near you or FedEx drop off location that you can access don't use FedEx always use common sense when it comes to those typ of options uh International it looks like this might be my next best option for international so I'll choose that guy and then we're looking at us I'm not concerned about tracking so I'm not sure if it'll fit in letter post but let's try and he us options that's not that bad so some of them if I don't see cost
(1:29:47) for them I typically won't include them myself so look looks like this guy up here might be our best option so I'll do that click save if you only if you just check off like say economy international shipping if you choose standard shipping those do not have costs associated with them they're not connected to a shipping service so eBay is going to assume that you're going to send the customer an invoice after it's been purchased I would recommend not doing that because when a customer sees a price on eBay that's the price that they assume that
(1:30:20) they're going to pay if you have this they're going to they're all they're going to see is the price that you have plus shipping it won't tell them what the shipping amount is so then when you send them an invoice afterwards uh they might not actually proceed with the purchase so I'd always recommend staying away from those if at all possible so we'll save those guys I'm just going to make a mock listing here just to see I'm going to put a ridiculous price so I don't sell it and we'll see if it lets me go letter
(1:30:50) post so I typically turn on the ad rate I would change this to like say 2% or so if your margins account for it I always require immediate payment all this looks okay obviously you include a description and your photos but we're not going to do that right now see if let me proceed without photos here okay description and photos let me just uh grab a photo off the internet here uh Starbucks prism red
(1:31:55) didn't take my photo must be over 500 pixels one second let's just steal somebody else's so it looks like yeah so it let me choose that cheaper shipping option letter post so if it wouldn't fit in the requirements based on my Dimensions it would tell me or it wouldn't even offer me that shipping option so yeah that's what I would personally choose um with the international shipping it's not that complicated I think a lot of people overthink it when it comes to international shipping if somebody buys it from you you get everything that you
(1:32:44) need directly from eBay you're able to purchase shipping directly in eBay uh I believe in the walkthrough video I kind of showed the process of how to to do that um but you get a notification directly in eBay you're able to click on it and then it shows you how much your customer paid for shipping uh the shipping option they chose and then you're able to input your Dimensions your actual dimensions directly in eBay and then it shows you all the shipping options that are available to you to purchase and then they give you all the
(1:33:10) documentation all the shipping labels that you need you simply print it out follow the directions attach it to attach it to your box uh put in a packing slip if you want and then drop it off at the corresponding carrier it's pretty simple so does anybody have any other questions when it comes like shipping or international shipping at all Janine I know you mentioned that you had some questions when it comes to shipping actually what I was going to bring up is that um being a new seller I believe you recall that I set
(1:33:48) up a business account yep and everything was completely different in regards to this whole situation or your video in comparison to a personal account and for anybody setting up a new account the only thing I'd suggest perhaps you would as well is to go into personal because I got deactivated was it two times and it was just it was more of a pain than it was worth it so I don't know if that helps anybody else trying to set up so yeah like I think with uh what happened with Janine I believe when you first set up a new
(1:34:31) account with eBay if you're going the business route I think they want some more verification so you may not be able to list things immediately so it's probably better to start off with personal uh the business account aspect is basically just for so you get some tax remittance uh some tax exemptions for purchases Etc it's not required it's probably easier and quicker to get started off with personal if you're making a new account and you can always transition your account later on if you if you need but it's not
(1:34:59) required see and that was the reason why I started or thought I started with the business was for tax remittance but it seems as though even if you start with off with the personal I believe that you can still do the tax remittance because I've got a GST number for sure 100% yeah like um with eBay as far as I'm aware uh there's some laws that are passed in certain countries in states where basically eBay is required to collect and remit the tax on your behalf like Amazon does with some provinces um I believe they do it
(1:35:39) regardless if you have a personal account or business account um I think with the business account it just gives you some access to some additional tax features um but like I like I said I don't believe it's required and you can still um collect the remit taxes properly through eBay even if you have a personal account okay so uh Teresa when your we had questions earlier about shipping options and you just mentioned about uh shipping does that answer your questions that you had there yeah yeah okay cool I think I just
(1:36:16) need validation of with whatever I'm thinking is right and whether I did what I did is right because nothing's moving definitely it was a brand new platform 100% it's always nice to have outside eyes look look in and make sure to tell you that you're doing something correct for sure yes thank you definitely uh do you mind if I take a look at your store and the other listings that you have sure okay that's okay go ahead cool I don't have much in there I don't have a lot of time to work on that no problem um yeah but I think I have a few items here
(1:36:54) that I would like to list okay so like I mentioned a kale as well I would recommend assuming that your time uh permits for it that you do regularly review your listings and ensure you're one price competitive especially being a brand new eBay seller you are probably going to command a lower price in general being a newer seller with no feedback um but also uh refresh your listings like we mentioned earlier as well so end your listings and then go back back and relas them to make sure you get more eyeballs and yours gets put
(1:37:24) to the top and also I'd recommend especially because you are new uh if your margins account for it do those sponsor listings as well just a small percentage uh with the Laney Wilson one here I just want to take a peek at this guy because this guy is completely sold out in Canada now I did double check earlier today just to double check uh they are no longer available let's take a look at this one so I'm just going to remove the X and we're going to go gold so we have a lot of listings so it looks like right now with these keywords
(1:37:57) we have 1,900 listings so that's why with something like this it's very important that you are near the top because there's a ton that are listed but they've also been selling a ton so in the last 90 days which is going to be less than that because it hasn't been out for 90 days it sold 661 so this is a relatively high demand item and so we look at the current market right now it looks like it has dropped a bit so I believe previous estimates were a bit higher like we were estimating it's going to sell between 150 to 200 um it
(1:38:27) looks like we've sold one for 100 130 116 120 120 there have been some outliers at 160 uh but it looks like on average like you the average price you can probably command for this one is probably like between 120 to 130 your landed cost per unit I believe uh for myself it was like around 80 bucks was that the case for yourself yourself I think it's 70 something okay cool isn't it uh I'm not 100% certain uh one second here see if I can pull up my 72 it could be let me see if I pull my email on the other screen here just one second I
(1:39:11) think it was a or sorry I think it was 72 as well I've got I've got some too okay cool so I I believe like I believe right now I believe your price a little bit too high for the current market with something like this because it has sold out it is limited edition if you were wanting to hold on to them they will probably come at a bit of a higher price once the market has settled once some of the lower uh the cheaper stock is sold through but if you are wanting to sell them relatively quickly which is typically what I recommend for most
(1:39:43) items like this I probably say you'd be expecting to sell for say about 130 bucks so if we go 130 minus our fees 130 minus 13.25 so our payout is about 113 so if we go 113 minus 72 so that's a profit about 41 bucks per so that's pretty decent um and I expect that if you are more price competitive you will probably sell your listings quite a bit quicker and if you have them in hand I would recommend um removing the pre-sale section that you have here because it's no longer pre-sale you do have it in hand uh indicate in your title that you
(1:40:21) do have it in hand just say in hand or on hand and have a live photo it looks like you do have a live photo these are photos that you took is that correct no that's not mine I got I got the item already but I haven't opened it yet okay cool so then I would just take one you don't need to take it out of the box but take a live photo in the box and with live photos like that for pre-sale items I'd actually recommend not uh removing the background so people can actually see that it's a live photo oh okay so yeah like they they know it's not stock
(1:40:51) because this this like this photo right here looks like it's a stock photo right so take take it don't remove the background still make sure it's distraction free but don't remove it uh indicate it is in hand refresh your listing and also just indicate in the description real quick that it's in hand as well and not pre-sale and I would I'd recommend dropping your price a bit there then you should have much more success selling this guy how about available now in hand and then putting two not beautiful photos but decent
(1:41:26) which I added to my listing and I'm going to significantly reduce the price in comparison to what I thought I'd get but as long as I don't lose just get them out of my face but I have not opened the other box to pull it out because I don't want anybody to think anybody touched it right so I've got the actual box yeah that's that's fine like like the the main box um cuz I I just got mine today uh they the mine came in like their own they came in a bigger box and then their own shipping box their own individual shipping box
(1:42:03) I'd recommend open that shipping box and taking like the actual uh display box out that one is taped so take that guy out don't open that guy and pull up the cup but just like that actual box that has like the actual artwork on it okay yeah cuz I pulled out the box out of the box like you're saying and took a picture of those two but I don't want to touch the actual mug and pull it out yeah yeah that's cool but yeah having those live photos making sure you're price competitive and making sure uh your title specifically
(1:42:33) says in hand I think that will do you very well but yeah like with eBay specifically I believe our title uh we do have title restrictions for how many characters we can have in the title I believe it's 80 characters if I if I if I believe correctly so when you mention about like having like a long thing where it says available in hand Etc that might be too long if you want to relay the other information that you want like all this here like Stanley Lany Wilson Country Gold limited edition quencher H2 H uh 2.0 I would say have all this in
(1:43:06) there and then you might not have the room to say available in hand that's why I just say just have a shorter term that just says in hand or available probably probably not both you probably won't have the room for it cool so uh yeah and like also I mentioned in the general chat if you have these These are completely sold out so I don't see the market really dropping on these guys at all uh what we see available is probably what's going to be available we're probably not going to see a ton more influx of these guys
(1:43:42) um and as far as I'm aware Lany Wilson is pretty popular I'm not a big country music fan but I believe she's popular uh her previous drop of Stanley Cups did very well but they were a lot more limited with these guys they ended up releasing quite a bit more stock but they are completely sold out in Canada and in the US I don't imagine that they'll restock either so if you want to hold out you probably could get more but I'd also recommend listing these locally I listed them today because we got them today I list them locally I've already
(1:44:13) sold two of them locally so I was quite surprised that they were in such demand locally and the the nice thing about selling locally they Facebook or kiji you don't have any fees so okay yeah cool so Teresa did you have any additional questions from your end at all um I'm good thank you cool perfect okay so Kale did take off uh but I believe we have answered most of his questions let me just make sure that we have everything in case he wants to review this video later so we discussed the shipping options um kale specifically mentioned
(1:45:00) that he had problem with the Jack and suly dolls or Jack and Sally whatever they were so I just want to look at those guys here because those guys were quite popular I'm not sure if anybody else here got any of those uh did anybody else get any of those guys at all have that I was so scared to buy anything before then once I started buying I got so excited I bought and I don't know how to list it that happened to me Tobe Teresa so with these items so this was a prime example of an item that was getting released we had no data I think
(1:45:39) we had some limited data but we didn't really have any data on it whether or not it was going to sell well or what the price was going to be right so the this is one of those items that when it was listed we're using our best estimates based on the demand of the current item how how available they're going to be how fast they're going to sell out Etc and with this specific item when we had uh listed the information about it uh we had mentioned that with Mattel specifically um if the item it was it was considered relatively low
(1:46:11) risk like we thought it was going to do well um but with this item if it was going to have more stock than we were expecting or if the market was going to be pretty shitty uh you can cancel your orders with Mattel so as long as you cancel it obviously before they ship um It's relatively low risk and with this item in particular uh we got these back I think early to mid October I still haven't received mine yet um I contact him Matel the other day to see when they're getting them or when we're expecting them and they say that they're
(1:46:41) backlogged Etc and that we should expect them in about 6 weeks total like from the order date so with these ones with these particular items um uh these are almost mandatory to sell pre-sale and I had listed mine I think the day of uh purchase for the first two uh I sold both of mine that same day so it was a very high in demand item and it looks like it still is because they sold out super quick uh we have 627 results I've sold in the last 90 days realistically this is in the last month uh because they've only been available for about a
(1:47:14) month and how many do we have listed we have 235 listed so this is a super good sell through item and the current market I believe it's still pretty solid so like kale mentioned he had a problem selling these but I think he may have gotten cold feet too quickly and canceled his order uh before he was able to sell them I believe that may have been the case but of course I want to confirm that with him because it looks like they're still consistently selling for like 230 240 260 270 280 and they're selling quite consistently like multiple
(1:47:42) units per day so it may have been that he had listed his item on the high end and he wasn't he didn't sell it because it was priced a little bit too high and he didn't bring his price down I believe that may have been what happened in this case because like I mentioned I sold mine the very next day I got hold of another one one additional unit and I sold that within I think uh a day or two of listing as well like these sold super well I sold them all pre-sale I ensured that my handling time was listed for 40
(1:48:13) business days and then basically as soon as I get them in I'm going to be shipping them out and these were pretty good profit I think our cost uh in Canada I want to say they were like 130 each I sold one of these I sold one two for 276 one for 240 I believe so even on the lowend 240 minus eBay fees that's a payout of 208 so minus 130 a profit of 80 bucks per so these were pretty solid items and these are items that um was mentioned in the server I think yesterday or the day prior it was a potential that Mattel Mattel May
(1:48:50) restock these um they may have had a limited restock we didn't see that yet but if they do this would be an item that I would certainly Target if you're able to get a hold of them because I I don't see these guys going down anytime soon so yeah and like for eBay like the this is kind of like a prime item of stuff that I would buy to sell on eBay uh something that sells relatively quickly and has a very high profit margin um if it doesn't sell super quickly I just want to ensure it has a very good profit and probably a
(1:49:25) relatively low cost to purchase whereas with Amazon we're completely cool with having lower profit margins uh you know even a couple dollars per unit but we just sell way more quantity that that's what makes up for it okay so that's your business um model like that's why you said you do do more Amazon over eBay but don't you find that that finds you much busier than finding items off of wherever to sell on eBay that makes more of a profit per unit what what do you mean it makes me busier well like selling in volumes on
(1:50:15) Amazon with a like you prefer Amazon over eBay but eBay is just would you suggest it's just an extra it's just a bonus to be able to find more profitable items selling you know where you can make an extra 50 hundred bucks and you don't have to have the um the volume of inventory yeah so like the way that I view eBay is eBay is it's always been exciting and um a profitable hobby for me but there are ton of people that make very good full-time livings just selling stuff on eBay you just have to be more connected and more deep into that
(1:50:57) Marketplace and all the stuff that is available right you certainly can do it and you can do it relatively easily if you want to spend the time and energy doing so uh I do it because it's I think it's just a fun hobby and it is exciting when you find Treasures or or when you're able to purchase items that are super limited I actually find it quite exciting and it's profitable so yeah yeah like the reason why I sell on eBay is because the items that I sell tend to be decently profitable so it's worth my time um if I'm only profiting like say
(1:51:30) five bucks for something on eBay I probably won't even look at it because you do have to spend additional time to list it ship it customer service Etc that's why typically with items on Ebay like it's not going to profit me like probably like a minimum 20 bucks if not higher I probably won't even consider it it just depends on what you kind of value your personal time at right but yeah like with eBay I think if you do spend some time with eBay and either you buy limited drops um or hype things like we listed in the server or
(1:52:05) you spend some time learning stuff to find at thrift stores eBay is actually relatively easy to earn like an extra thousand to a couple thousand dollar profit per month if you actively spend some time with it it's not it doesn't have to be super time intensive uh if you're like say if you're if you're thrifting um used items it does take some knowledge and experience you do have to look up a lot of stuff to see what's going to sell um but once you start learning what does sell you're able to find those items a lot easier
(1:52:33) and it takes you way less time so like yesterday uh me and one of my employees we just decided that yesterday was going to be a day that we were going to go thrifting a bit go go find some some items we went to two different Valley Villages that we have here locally and I think in one we spent about a half hour the other one we spent about 45 minutes for me personally I focus um uh small appliances electronics and then I always take a look at their showcases for like jewelry Collectibles things like that but like Electronics use Electronics
(1:53:04) small appliances those always do super well on eBay and it's very easy to look them up to see how much they sell for and you know in the very short time that we're able to that we spent in the store we pulled through I think one store it was about like expected profit about 500 bucks the other one was like I think maybe a couple hundred so it wasn't crazy but for the amount of time that we spent doing it uh it was very well worth of time in my opinion and I enjoy thrifting cool so yeah answer that about Kale's
(1:53:42) inquiry uh with the Mariah Carey dolls did anybody else purchase any Mariah Carey dolls at all [Music] when it came out I'm already doubting myself if I would ever sell something in eBay you're doubting yourself if you would ever sell something in eBay so that's why I didn't I sto I stopped buying so and and that's fair like uh having those reservations if you listed some things and you haven't had any movement or you're not familiar with it that's a completely Fair assessment to have um I hope that going through something like this
(1:54:22) together gives you a little bit more confidence obviously I would not say go out and buy a bunch of stuff invest thousands of dollars into it if you don't know the process don't know how it works come into it slowly buy a few things here and there if you have the time if you have the money and then as you learn the the system just like with Amazon you get more comfortable with it then it becomes a lot easier it's a skill that you learn and you grow over time just like anything else yeah I am at actually going to have
(1:54:50) to agree as well and I really do appreciate um this Discord and it has been so much information and so well worth the money the subscription plus the free trial and I do find it intimidating as well selling on eBay and then looking at all the stuff that pops up and you're just like should I just buy this and this and this and this and doing you you understand I know cuz I'm like okay it's dropping now and I'm like okay how many do I buy just CU it says it's good right so it is intimidating and it's a new learning curve once again but more and
(1:55:37) more that you know you've been educating us I think the more and more we feel comfortable with it and we'll be able to go with it for sure and yeah like it's kind of funny that um people view eBay as intimidating when when you come from Amazon because in my opinion Amazon is a lot more intimidating but the reason why you guys view it that way is just because you spent way more time with Amazon and you're comfortable with their systems with eBay it's um not as scary like you're not going to it's very unlikely you're going to get your eBay
(1:56:11) account suspended for any reason you can basically sell anything you don't have any restrictions for gating um in my opinion it's a lot easier to get started selling on eBay um it's definitely easier in my opinion to scale on Amazon like two millions of dollars per year um but you can still make a very good amount of money on eBay and you can still make a very viable business it's just a very different process and I think once you learn that um it's a lot easier to get comfortable with it I think with eBay as long as you're
(1:56:45) able to sell you have more control as compared to Amazon Amazon there's a lot of things that you don't have control and Amazon is just creating their rules and you don't have any choice but to follow it yes definitely and yeah like eBay is definitely more seller friendly for sure um but yeah like there's pros and cons to every marketplace right like Amazon definitely has more eyeballs more volume but that doesn't mean we should discount eBay because eBay is still one of the largest e-commerce businesses in the world they still do billions of
(1:57:17) dollars a year of Revenue through eBay they're not like Amazon uh they're not as large as Amazon but there's still lots of opportunity here uh Robert I see you joined our call a little while ago how's it going I believe you sold some stuff on eBay yourself right are you with us Robert maybe not cool so um does anybody else have any other questions comments concerns about eBay or anything eBay related at all no it'll probably come to me like in the middle of the night going [ __ ] I should have asked that question same
(1:58:18) here yeah I'm good now cool and so yeah yeah like um when it comes to a lot of specifics when it comes to eBay like we do have some good resources in here I know like it's not always the funnest to to reap through some of the stuff but if you ever have any specific questions like how to list things properly get proper shipping estimates piggyback off the listings um how to list pre-sale items on orders or on eBay Etc we do have some good resources in here and I will be consistently adding to this um but you can get answers to a lot of stuff in our
(1:58:51) get book here for sure I did want to ask though even instead of searching through everything which I generally do before I try and ask questions in the search tool I tried a couple of times how effective is the Search tool in the Discord because I think I was looking for cross Bard or something and I pressed search and it said nothing but I remembered seeing it somewhere so I went to guides and resources so would that work effectively for you know what I mean like so I'm not bothering everybody all the time yeah
(1:59:38) like so I think the search in the Discord could be better like I don't think it's the best thing that is there but if you utilize it properly I think you can find what you're looking for um so like just right now like if I search cross border um it's going to pick up anything that has crossborder in it it's going to be dependent on your uh if you like say you have spaces in it or not if you try to search crossborder without spaces you're probably not going to find stuff that says crossborder with a space in between
(2:00:07) it okay I'm not complaining it's just sometimes I try and do that because I'll recall a conversation somewhere about a certain situation and then I'll go through each Channel trying to figure out where I saw it and then finally I'll just post and go okay I saw it somewhere but could someone help me you know what I mean like cuz you know some people don't want to do something for themselves and I no for sure if you can't find it always don't uh don't feel shy to ask I'll uh I would always say try to find it first but if
(2:00:42) you can't I have no uh no harm in asking and I can certainly point you in the right direction if you want to find something that like say is specifically posted by myself uh in the search bar in Discord you can type in my name so let Type in Jordan and then you should have an option that pops up that says from user and it says from Jordan s OA you can click on that and then you can type in what you want to search that I've said in the server so like say you type that in you click it then you type in cross border then you'll only see posts
(2:01:12) from myself and then that might help you find that information more quickly if you're looking for information that was just posted by me or another specific user okay because even I love supplies or whatever I was going I love bags or whatever and I was like I finally found it but then you also have this thing about how to figure out how to get it over uh crossborder Services you know like calculating it and I was like I'm not going to ask I'll just figure it out but yeah like in that case like sometimes with searching um with key
(2:01:49) words sometimes less is more so like say if you like type in my name uh and then click on my name and then type in just I space love and not include supplies you might be able to find it that way or maybe just like say I ILS you might be able to find it that way uh sometimes being too specific can limit your searches cool so uh Green Day uh yourself there I don't believe we've ever spoken on a chat I'm not sure if you have a mic uh what has your experience been with selling on Amazon all can you hear me yeah I can
(2:02:32) hear you he what's up um you your question was my experience with Amazon or Ebay for both for both oh um I've been selling on Amazon since uh end of June I believe okay uh but yeah but I've been pretty new uh in the Canadian Market uh I've started with the US market when I started but I'm trying to get my feet wets in um in the Canadian market right now but uh I believe uh I started probably like I don't know probably like a month a month ago not not even like three weeks s my first box okay but uh yeah yeah no but uh I'm
(2:03:23) trying to start to sell on eBay as well I've sold a the Galaxy Z flip 5 okay cool yeah I sold that one there um one pretty well took me two days and it sold so those were those were super solid I wish I bought more yeah me too I mean I wasn't the first product I ever sold on eBay and I I've never even sold before and uh it was pretty quick yeah but um know I mean pretty that's pretty much where I'm at right now okay cool uh do you mind me asking how much you sold that phone for uh 875 nice nice for tripping nice sold
(2:04:10) it to a girl in Quebec Beauty um so with your Amazon stuff you mentioned that you started with the US market K yeah yes I did so do you mind me asking why you did that uh I mean I was just basically on Twitter and I've saw people selling you know books on E on not eBay I mean Amazon and I just started there with a prep Center over there but I be the reason because is I don't know I've always been um you know following people from the US us I've I'm from a small town so I don't really know anybody who was actually doing Amazon so I mean I
(2:04:56) just finished just talking with people on a Discord I was in just like a free Discord and people were selling books so I I just started doing that there just slowly but um I actually wanted to try on my own here in in Canada so that's why I'm I'm I'm like slacking over there and I'm trying to Focus here but I'm finding it much difficult in Canada just because of how to read keepo is so different compared to uh the velocity that I'm getting in uh in the US but I'm I'm I'm it's a challenge right now so I'm I'm I'm constantly learning just you
(2:05:37) know how to adapt here velocity is way slower than the US I don't know if you ever SE in in the US for sure like yeah is very different but no I actually don't personally sell in the US I only sell in Canada uh but it is a different Beast for sure uh do you mind me asking like how you did with sales wise in the US uh I mean right now uh pretty slow I I got like probably like two sales today but uh right now if I'm looking at my number probably 7 7,000 something okay 7,000 I start it in J and my my biggest month was in August
(2:06:21) but uh that's why I'm telling you like I'm trying to transition to Canada but I'm 7 7,000 something I only started like with I don't even think 2K Canadian and I'm I'm I'm slowly building it up you know like I was prudent really like I'm not going super deep I'm I'm taking my time making sure I'm really picky with what I'm buying um I have like a tracking with people and I'm pretty much you know trying to make sure that all my buys are you know good because and I'm trying to make the you know less mistakes than I can so 100% so are you
(2:07:02) are you only doing books or are you also doing OA as well uh in the US specifically just books but here in Canada I'm pretty much doing like all sorts of categories cuz cuz I can actually see what I'm getting here and you know prep centers over there that I have like they're pretty much really really strict and like I I they're only specifically for that and books and like people doing like private label and stuff like that but I I almost went with doing OA in the US but it I got spooked because they they have like
(2:07:37) a limit quantity that they want and like I was like I got to send in like 100 products and I'm like I've never done a bunch of you know um you know use volumes like you're doing right now so I'm like I I can't I wasn't confident enough so I was like man I got to try this in Canada first just to see and you know how the process goes and like actually you know shipping it out and you know what I mean like I I wanted to have like my hands on it like physically you know cuz trying to have like a like a 100 units limit like they have like
(2:08:14) they charge you like a like a minimum they say like you have to send us you have to pay like a 100 bucks you have like a minimum you have to like so I was like a little bit like you know not sure because I'm pretty new I find so maybe I'll dive into that later on but I'm just starting to do a couple sales in in Canada like I mean like I'm learning even on your Discord you know slowly but surely but uh yeah Beauty and no like it sounds like you're doing it like the right way like um obviously there are people that uh scale and
(2:08:50) expand way quicker than others but I think like that's a very different person like me personally like I see people share screenshots where they did like $10,000 in their first month I'm like that's crazy because when I first started I did 950 bucks and I was stoked about it uh I don't think there's anything wrong with growing slowly uh I think those people that scale extremely quickly they either have a lot of capital to begin with OR they are leveraging debt way too much um I don't think I don't think there's anything
(2:09:21) wrong with uh growing and learning slowly I think that's honestly probably the best way to do it because it very much limits your risk and ensures that you are understanding the systems fully it may seem like you're not making as much progress but once you compare it month over month and from where you started uh you'll see it's like you know this this month I was only selling like one unit a day two units a day maybe I had some days where I sold no units but then once you look at it like four or five months down the road it's like oh
(2:09:47) I'm making sales every single day it may it may not seem like I'm doing a whole lot but there's no days I'm not missing uh I'm I'm selling units every single day there's no days where I don't have uh I have zero sales right I think growth like that uh very organically uh I think that's I think that's a solid way to start can I add something I I also learned the hard ways you crack the code to the algorithm it's not like you crack it but I had a in the Canadian Market I had a product that was sitting for two months without to get in the buy box and
(2:10:25) I was pretty much the uh like I almost the same price as every everyone else maybe 50 cents lower and basically everybody was getting the buy box until one day I was okay that's a too long of a wait so I and I I was told like yeah if you just tank the price you you just a race to the bottom you you're not going to B just just wait your turn but then I one day I say okay I'm going to just bring the price I had a good Roi I was it like 100% uh more than 100% Roi and then I said yeah so what the heck I'm just going to reduce by
(2:11:08) $3 and the moment I did that within like few weeks I sold out that that is like I said it took me two months to figure this out and I I I think the lesson learn is maybe try and on the Canadian Market pick stuff that has a high Roi so that you can play with margins so that you can move stuff faster but yeah a lot of this you know learning it comes from like how how do you beat the algorithm that's just one thing that yeah I don't know how to deal with yeah like a lot of that stuff um I wouldn't say it's beating the algorithm
(2:11:46) but just understanding how the process work and then how to like kind of take take a step back and fully analyze all the data that's available to you from the current rank to how many keeper drops you have to how many sellers to the current price to their metrics to your metrics Etc it sounds like a ton to analyze but once you've been doing it for so long it becomes basically second nature and yeah like you mentioned about looking at a listing where you're not getting the buy box whatsoever because there's a ton that goes into the buy box
(2:12:15) not just um not just lowest selling price um but like it's very common for us to look at a listing uh and like say I look at a listing right now and right now our profit is $15 or something stupid it's very common that I look at that listing and I'm like that profit is too high I can look at it and it's only selling like three four units per month so I'm like okay that profit is too high so I'll look at it I'll look at it like say a year ago where it was selling and our profits like only $4 $5 but it's selling
(2:12:45) 20 30 50 units per month so I regularly come into listings like that and drop the price to where it should be to where the market actually demands it and then I dominate the buy box because nobody else follows um I'm not chasing $15 once per month now I'm chasing $4 30 40 50 times per month right and overall it just makes way more sense that is stuff that you kind of learn as you go like I wouldn't say that's super beginner strategy so I wouldn't say necessarily worry about that so much when you first start off but yeah those are definitely
(2:13:14) good tips and always things that you should consider for sure yeah 100% yeah but yeah like with people um I know like a lot of people always say volume is way lower in Canada and there's no surprise it definitely is but even with that being said we can still make a very good living still be very profitable s still sell a very solid healthy amount every year on Canada you just have to adjust your strategy like there's multiple sellers in the server that are seven uh seven figure sellers on Amazon specifically in Canada selling multiple
(2:13:51) six figures per month um so it's very possible uh you obviously need the capital to do so you need to be able to build up to that it's just a different um General business model than it is in the US and yes in my opinion it's actually Harder To Source in Canada than it is in the US to find those steadily profitable products but if you're able to do it and able to do it consistently I would bet that you can become much more successful in the US as well because you become successful in a much harder Marketplace would you advise us to try
(2:14:32) us as well in the future sorry I interrupted somebody oh that's okay so sorry Teresa you're asking if I plan on doing the US yeah so I've always had that plan uh eventually I'm no and no rush to personally do it I know a lot of people say well why don't you sell in the US volume is way higher I obviously understand the process um I've always just looked at it like I can make more than enough money in Canada and I literally spend all of my money I don't have any additional money to allocate to the US so I could I would
(2:15:07) just have to take away some of the money that we're currently allocating to Canada and allocate it to us inventory um I just don't personally feel the need for myself right now um yeah like I probably will eventually once we have a good healthy excess cash flow but like I mean we're spending multiple six figures per month on inventory in Canada itself as it is right now and my credit cards and terms get very stressed so I don't know how much more I want to leverage and have that additional time to get across the border geted Etc eventually
(2:15:42) we'll get there but I'm not that concerned about it right now and Jordan yep yeah GRE know um I just wanted to say you were the first one that I've that I've um saw on YouTube that was actually doing you know but I would not say the first one because the thing is is I discovered your your videos after because I was I only saw like this one girl she name is Sasha she was doing videos and she was on X so I I took I took her course but I mean I didn't go head on with what she was doing cuz she was supposed to give me
(2:16:24) like a coaching but I don't know what happened man she she ghosted me after a while and after that I found your video and I was and I saw like stuff like exposing gurus and whatever and then after that I saw and after that I saw that you're actually your your data your data video with the your offers tab and everything because she was saying that you had to have like I don't know like five drops and his and her boyfriend was saying he need to have like eight and I was so confused because I don't think keepa drops actually interpret in I'm
(2:16:59) sorry I'm French interpret how many sales you're actually doing in a in a given time and once I'm seeing that actually the correlation between the data typ there's so much confusion that I had because I was asking questions about Sor Hamp and how many estimated sales that we're getting and you were actually telling us after that that SAR amp was not a direct correlation with the Canadian uh Amazon market so it was like something's not you know you know what I mean yeah that video was legendary from Jordan ah Robert saw the first one though I was I
(2:17:39) wasn't as nice in the first one in the first iteration I was kind of pissed um but uh yeah like that's um that's like the reason why I made that video um like I have no bad will against anybody but especially if you're trying to charge somebody money you need to understand what the [ __ ] you're doing and a lot of people in Canada don't and that's what pisses me off about it and that's why I made it um yeah I just heard like other stories from people but not good experiences with those people in particular um but
(2:18:22) yeah like you Canada is very different than it is to the US you can't relay all like the fundamentals are the same in the US if you look at a fun a US seller the fundamentals and Basics are the same but when it comes to analyzing data estimated sales keeper drops Etc it is very different and you can't always correlate the stuff you get from us dolls to listings in Canada and that's why I make some of the videos that I do I don't put out as much videos as I as I'd want to because I just don't have the time I would like to make more
(2:18:52) because I think it's good to inform people about how to do stuff properly it's just I only have so much time in a day um but yeah like keep a drops does not equal sales 100% it is a good initial filter but it's not always directly related um you can never use uh sales estimators in Canada none none of them are accurate you cannot use stuff like the VAR tab on for Canadian listings because it's irrelevant because uh the reviews that you see in on a listing are shared marketpl wide which when you review videos from like Sasha
(2:19:29) I've seen her specifically mention oh look at like the variations Tab and choose those products that's irrelevant in Canada because you're like you have reviews in in the US and just because as reviews in the US and volume in the US does not mean it SS in Canada so yeah there's there's a lot of stuff that you have to learn that's quite a bit different for sure as far as I'm concerned Jordan or and Serendipity is the only Canadian resource by far because I went through Jordan how long was it how many months until I or you found or whatever found
(2:20:12) the group and I was just asked backwards because everything on YouTube everything else is all us-based and I was going through everything with the keepa variations everything else and I was just like are you kidding me or the other thing initially too is that if you can go into a store and scan it if you can sell it it's viable so you just got to go purchase it flip then you find out about keepa but it was American keepa then Jordan differentiates everything and explains everything and then you're like ah [ __ ] that's why I lost so much money
(2:20:56) her things weren't selling but yeah like I mean I've made all the same mistakes myself when I started because when I started there was even less resources than there is today um but I was learning exclusively from YouTube videos from people in America but I started with exclusively books so with myself like with your self Green Day it's obviously less of investment less risk much higher profit probably not going to have super rank sales until you have a very large inventory but I was watching videos I was like okay cool any sales
(2:21:28) rank that's a million or less for books is good so go to the thrift store start finding books that have a million sales rank I don't understand keepa so I'm just okay Mele and sales rank looks like it's profitable cool buy it never sells well why well it's because we're in Canada you need to cut that about in in in a tenth for for it to make sense in general right so I've I've done all the same stuff I've made all the same mistakes um and yeah I just share what I've learned with people Robert I see that you're back how
(2:22:01) has your Q4 been I mean your videos were pretty much eye opener that's good that's good that's good to hear I appreciate it yeah 100% uh I I'm GNA say it again that Jordan is the goat of Canada since the beginning don't feed my don't feed my ego you're gonna make me too cocky no you're providing too much value here it's crazy but sorry I didn't have um I was listening to you but I didn't have my headset on uh that's why I didn't answer your question uh the first time no problem um but yeah Q4 has been great honestly I think this month is slower
(2:22:42) than what I wanted to uh just because I I have a lot of uh products that are like in transit and a lot of back orders from suppliers but can't be more happy than than than what we have now like we have a great opportunity on Amazon lots of deals running um with the Black Friday um so we're trying to spend uh uh smartly let's say um not trying to over leverage as well uh um and yeah it's it's doing good happy uh um happy to be here let's say beautiful I always like to remember the conversation that we had because I
(2:23:28) think it was I don't I don't know if it was quite a year ago it might have been but you were concerned at that time when you just had a personal American Express card that your balance was like I think like 20 20 something thousand right now I imagine you probably spend a lot more than that every single month yeah yeah I remember I told you I was like oh my god Amazon is uh keeping my stock uh because there's too many demands so I had like I don't know like 200 or 300 orders out of the time and they didn't they weren't paying me so uh
(2:24:00) yeah right now I think I'm I'm more um I spend a lot more but at the same time um like I I'm more careful uh what I'm spending uh like I spend what I have let's say I spend what I have in my in my account but yeah I've been spending maybe uh I don't know I don't know how much more than last year um but yeah quite quite uh quite a lot more let's say that's how how is your Q4 yourself oh it's it's good um November like we kind of always for us it seems like we don't really ramp up till like mid November uh like we obviously start
(2:24:45) preparing for Q4 a couple months months prior but we don't start getting like super busy till like mid November and then it's just kind of stupid for us until like mid January and like my days I have no idea where they go like I was saying to people earlier today like one of my employees woke me up at home today supposed to be here at 10:00 I passed out cuz I didn't sleep the day prior and I fell asleep for a few hours I was supposed to be awake and yeah just completely messes up my entire day because I like could just like get woken
(2:25:12) up confused like what the hell's going on do you still uh do like all nighters oh yeah like part of that reason was because the night prior I did not sleep the day prior at all at all Jesus um yeah it's just too too much to do yeah yeah I mean it's the time to push yourself like uh for everyone it's the it's the it's the best time to to sell on Amazon right now it's story understandable hopefully uh you are planning some sweet uh vacation uh uh in q1 next year once once this push is over I I think I'm going to I I I I
(2:25:54) want it to sometime this year but early next year I'm going to force myself to yeah I'm guessing you you stacked the ax points quite a lot yeah I'll be able to take a few trips completely for free at a at a minimum are you uh are you stacking also the marott points or just the ax just ax I haven't got a mar bonvoy card or anything like that yet yeah yeah but yeah like um as I mentioned before like uh earlier this year we were much more heavily arbitraged and I wanted to transition more and more into wholesale which we have and we are much
(2:26:32) more heavy wholesale so I'm using my like I we still utilize credit cards quite a bit but it's a lot less compared to what it was all you're using your net terms I'm guessing yeah as much as we can for sure yeah I've been offered like quite a lot of suppliers like net terms but I don't know I know ultimately it's better for the cash flow but I really like to accumulate points on the credit cards so I think at a certain point I I think obviously getting those credit card points and getting free stuff super nice 100% but like at a certain point
(2:27:08) like say if you get a minimum like say net 30 uh net 45 is beautiful net 60 is crazy uh if you get those though you can leverage those so heavy like like say if you have like net 30 net 45 you can basically you get items get off to Amazon get sold get the cash back before you even need to pay it and like that's basically free money and that can help you grow so much yeah honestly I should really get into that because um yeah it will help me have like more spending power at the end 100% it it'll probably increase your
(2:27:42) profits a ton if you're making viable bit uh purchasing decisions which I assume you are I'm trying but yeah like if you have experience with a supplier you've been buying from them you know log skes that you've been replenishing consistently or you're buying a lot from them using that terms can be a game changer yeah exactly I have like quite some I can request I I I got some requests but I have some that I've been working with for I think almost a year now uh that I can maybe uh open the discussion with them yeah if you had
(2:28:17) like a really long relationship with them like you probably can get a minimum net 30 if you can find those unicorns I give you like net 60 or more like 100% take those that's free money yeah yeah but uh yeah uh in terms of like my experience on eBay uh I think um I sold a little bit on eBay like before doing Amazon and I remember like initially uh how how I got like um the confidence to to U list stuff on there was because I was looking at like stuff that I had around my house so it's like zero risk I was just like listing stuff
(2:29:00) I had like video game stuff like that and then yeah I got experience this way yeah so if people like are scared to to do eBay you can start with whatever you have in your house if you video games if you have uh I don't know um appliances whatever it can be a great way to uh to yeah to wet your feet 100% And I would say I would argue like the same as even like with Amazon like you can you can try finding like some like just regular products that you have around or some books or some use electronics and you can get your feet
(2:29:39) wet with Amazon I think that's a super viable way to start for sure yeah um but yeah like if anybody here is interested for eBay specifically like if you are thrifting if you are a thrifter obviously if you are looking for those items uh you have to kind of build up a knowledge base just by like basically looking stuff up to see if it sells but some of the things that you can always be on the lookout for that I always find are profitable are old CRT TVs you can probably find a lot of those locally like on Facebook or Kijiji for like 10
(2:30:15) 15 bucks a lot of those guys regularly sell on eBay for 100 bucks plus and say if you get like a 13inch one they're not super unmanageable to ship so those are super solid and you can just look up the model number itself on eBay um something that has a model number you can get very specific to see what to sell through rate is you can make a ton of profit on those guys because a lot of vintage video game players um they only want to use CRTs because the video games look better on CRTs so stuff like that um like I mentioned earlier today um a lot
(2:30:47) of uh small appliances so like coffee makers Bosch tasos um a lot of like say if you find like insta pots or stuff like that I would always look that kind of stuff up or like Revel espresso machines a lot of those can be super profitable um a lot of video games can be very viable on eBay but I also find that you can probably sell a lot of those games for probably more on Amazon uh and basically like anything that's like limited edition collectible there's almost always a market for it on eBay I would guess as well though you um
(2:31:23) like if you're thrifting say when it comes to small small appliances you'd have to take note of what they have go home research it or research it on your phone and see how viable it is obviously right yeah I would just use I would just use the eBay app just search it directly on the eBay app uh just like you would on a regular on a regular desktop search so search for the item model number and you can see what it's actively selling for right now how many active listings you have and then go into your go into
(2:31:53) your filters and click that sold items filter which is a available on the eBay app as well and then you can see how many have sold what they're actively selling for so you you can make your decisions right then and there just basically like you are scanning for ra products for Amazon and then another Pro tip um if you are doing that if you are thrifting and you find those items you find the sold items I would recommend actually opening up that listing directly on the eBay app like one that um is for the item that you're going to sell I would
(2:32:24) click the sell one like this directly in the eBay app and save that for later so you already have your draft saved so the processes are just a lot smoother once you go home you don't need to do that research again Jordan hey Vinnie how's it going going good so I was back and forth doing some today good uh another thing I wanted to add for eBay uh recently uh uh I like I um uh converted my personal eBay to Business Bay account and then noticed Less sales and then one of the thing I changed was the advertisement
(2:33:04) promotional advertisement right so a lot of people don't know that by default it uses 25% 15% uh promotional right can minimize to 2.5% so that will give lot of exposure to your listing and uh recent I see a lot of sales like last 10 sales because of my promotional active like I just made 2.
(2:33:32) 5% and then the things sells well so that is one of the things I changed recently 100% and thanks for sharing video in yeah that's actually something that we discussed a little bit earlier today as well for sure utilizing um a small promotional percentage can definitely uh increase increase your eyeballs and your listings and your sell through definitely yeah hey laser how's it going yeah well done are you trying to talk or you trying to talk to somebody else sorry the I just wanted to catch that when they changed his his account from personal to business did that
(2:34:14) increase sales or reduce sales oh no oh that's not connected so what I mean was uh I had old personal eBay account so I always had the reviews and stuff but I wanted to transition into business so I didn't had any reviews right uh so my account was very so that is one of the reasons basically you not get a lot of sales so one way is I think uh Jordan already suggested listing and quality of the image right but top of that if you can add uh by default like like 2% of the promotional uh advertisement that always helps to get
(2:34:54) exposure so you are listing prob it's the same as Amazon mark this campaign right PPC yeah yeah I got I got yeah yeah makes sense what I mean basically if you new account that is one of the got you got yeah another thing Jordan so I was posting about Lego right so I have been Lego so last last four week five weeks I probably did like 5,000 6,000 worth of Lego stuff so there are lot of things on lego.
(2:35:40) com stock now so this uh 24th there is a Black Friday sale uh please keep your eyes on that uh so most most of the sets are like uh uh retiring end of this month so if if you are able to find those those will get at least 20 to 30% profit in Q4 and if you get cheaper in deal that is Advantage 100% And yeah good tips for sure um Lego investing um is something that has always been very profitable there's a lot of people where their entire business is Lego investing because historically Lego uh increases a lot better than the stock market uh and
(2:36:22) once set retire it's almost guaranteed that they are going to sell for much higher and a much healthier profit margin I know a couple guys who buy hundreds of thousands of dollars of Lego per year put them away for a year or two and then sell them once they increase in price and that's what they do for work how they do that I mean how they are able to um spend uh so much money on a single set like where where can you get these like I mean on Lego you have a limited stock Indigo yeah I can answer you that basically see there are a couple of
(2:36:57) things one is on Lego website you can you have the limit right five limit so so there is one trick so you can buy five for example uh any of the Star Wars set there will be maximum five set you can buy right so once you buy after one week you can buy another five so it it get reset so at once you can buy five and then wait for five days and uh wait for uh package to deliver your home and then you can uh reorder five so that is one way another way is probably you can find it your wholesaler and maybe Walmart like nowadays a lot of Walmart
(2:37:38) sales are going on so there is no limit right if you go to Walmart stores you should be able to buy how much stock they have so so that way you can add up uh these sets but you should know whether these sets are getting retired so most likely uh soon retired getting uh price appreciated right so those you have to understand and also you need to understand the themes not all themes are really good Star Wars architecture and couple of themes are really good so you should be able to uh get there and when they say like set is is uh expected to
(2:38:17) retire what are the probabilities because I mean are we 100% sure that they're going to retire because if so yeah let's let's go all in sometimes if you want 100% retirement confirmation you can always go to lego.com go to shop Last Chance uh you can go to last chance uh last one last chance to buy all these are basically retiring all these sets Okay okay that's and another thing is yeah so for example this is right this is exclusive plus last chance whenever you see exclusive it means Amazon cannot sell so this is only Lego
(2:39:08) exclusive so these are the best bet to sell on Amazon okay interesting so yeah like we have uh some data in the server obviously but you have the the Brick Hound channels and then also the Lego retiring uh Channel as well there is data that shared in there quite often about when the set is estimated to retire we obviously see that sometimes that can change but if you combine that with seeing it on the uh the Lego site with his last chance you can be a lot more certain like Vinnie said but I'm just going to search
(2:39:44) this Lego set in this number number in the server see if we see anything here yeah another tip is if you want if if you feel that you found any deted set you always go to Amazon okay and then check most likely 99% chances are there Amazon will be not in listed so that is one of the if the the set is going to retire yeah like about to retire right so most most likely Amazon will be not in that uh listing so that is one of the T okay and um um Jordan go to shop so uh there another list category is there it's called exclusive exclusive uh the
(2:40:26) fifth one yeah so these sets uh Amazon never sells this is only for Lego so these are most profitable if you get any uh deal you can buy so if you can go to any of this right and if you go to Amazon you will never have Amazon I didn't know that for U yeah generally didn't know that I know that um I'm sorry for my voice I know that the Christmas tree sold extremely well last year if people want to get some so because these are the uh because Amazon never comes on these even without a retiring you can sell during the uh season right so you
(2:41:05) will always have the third party seller on the so Christmas tree is one of the hot uh Community here and then couple of them are there and then architect right um so those are really good sets so this is one of the thing you can keep eye on if you get a good deal on flag Friday uh then you can buy exclusive so this is like show shot you can get at least profit it's very interesting thanks man another another tip as well is if you notice retailers like uh Walmart Toys R Us uh put Lego sets on sale themselves
(2:41:38) chances are very high that those sets are getting retired soon because they always put them on sale right before they clear them out okay and they put them on sale like randomly in the year or is it like every June they do like a major sale every typically very random from what I've seen so like random yeah normally it's random for toys SS whenever I buy uh Legos right so online you will have limited uh limits like two two especially the more demanding sets always go and visit there like you can buy and then pick up do the pickup and
(2:42:13) go uh and check if they have more stocks so I always do that most likely they will have more stocks then you can buy there so there is no limit if you go to store okay so yeah like um a site that I like to utilize quite a lot is stock track.com but if you come on here you can see like a lot of different stores uh what they have put on sale without looking at the store itself and you can see like this Lego set right here this particular one they have on sale it's not always but it's typically indication when they put it on sale that that set
(2:42:47) is going to be retiring pretty soon because they're clearing it out uh sometimes it can be that that set still won't retire for a year or two but you can find you can kind of start your search there you find it then you can look it up on somewhere like brick economy and I can probably tell you more details of when it's going to retire okay and so in general if let's say someone wants to like go very deep on this particular set they're going to buy like from like any retail store that they can find like wart Indigo Lego just
(2:43:18) to get as much stock as possible so always Ben price Benchmark is Lego doca okay always go back and see what is the MSRP price right so that will give you Benchmark that should be the original price and then you can compare like sometime what happens is some of the retailer will have like high price and they will reduce then you can always go back Toca and check the price so then you will get exact discount price was yeah okay that's so that that is one of the tips so always compare with the lego.com has on sale so it's obviously a
(2:44:08) good sale I don't know if it sells on Amazon you have to check but uh Lego itself doesn't specifically state it's last chance and brick economy doesn't currently have a retiring date but then I also searched this number in the server just to see and in the Lego retiring Channel it indicated that this set was originally set to retire December 2024 but they changed the retirement uh date to December 2025 so this is a set that even though Walmart currently has it on sale and they are clearing it out is actually not
(2:44:39) retiring for some time so this would probably more likely unless it sells actively right now for profit on Amazon would be a longer term hold yeah and and usually the information about the date of retiring retirement uh is announced by Lego I mean the the bot that is looking for the retirement uh sets where is is it taking the information so with that I believe a lot of it is speculation but it is coming from people who are heavy in the yeah a lot of people heavy in the Lego space that speculate a lot because as far as I'm
(2:45:18) aware it's not specifically announced with Lego sets when they are retiring specifically on the site um they pull information from like Lego communities and stuff and they do a lot of speculation so it's not guaranteed but it's usually relatively accurate so yeah you don't have any indicator in Legos it says it will be retired but once they retired they will probably add the retired tag there right otherwise they only say last chance but uh it's not 100% and another thing that I like like if you if you know some like the Lego
(2:45:54) sites that um are like the smaller sites like say um what was that one site that we use a lot of time brick creation if you know like a lot of the smaller sites that a lot of people don't buy a lot of sets from one thing that I like to do is I like to come into brick economy uh click browse and click either uh recently retired or retiring soon and you can look at these sets and then chances are a lot of these sets are not going to be available anymore at Walmart Toys R Us they might be if you are lucky uh but
(2:46:25) you can look them up on sites like um brick creation that is a much lower traffic website and chances are you can probably still find a lot of these sets very close to retail at places like that and that's a good way and almost a more guaranteed way to buy sets and be able to profit on them in the very short term okay that's interesting honestly are you yourself a uh a Lego a fellow Lego uh investor or used to maybe I am not I just like selling things that are profitable so yeah I remember you told me you're not someone that is a really
(2:47:06) big fan of Buy and Hold from memory told me something like that yeah so like I know a lot of people that do and that can obviously be very profitable I just like turning my money and I like limitting my risk I'm always I'm always nervous if I'm holding like 20 30 40 Grand worth the Lego sets that my house is going to burn down I'm not going to have insurance yeah yeah yeah it's understandable but yeah like obviously if you have proper um precautions place and if you have like insurance coverage for them obviously that's even better if
(2:47:41) you're if you're really heavy into it but yeah I mean I just buy for like in provision of uh for the year I don't hold like for many years like just for the Q4 I mean if I can find like during uh the year like good deals I'm GNA buy them and stack them just for uh for the end of the the year but I I think I I don't go over like anyways 10k of Legos for sure so yeah but yeah like some people like that's their entire business that's all they do is just buy so Lego which it can be like relatively chill like you
(2:48:17) don't have to put in like a lot of hours you just have to invest a lot into a lot of inventory yeah yeah I mean I think um there's like we website is it brick creation where like this person is literally holding yeah Recreation yeah the guy is literally holding only or or most of them are retired Legos yeah so like with brick creation like that's that's a retailer so he's not just he's not just holding retired Lego sets I believe he actually they secure all Lego sets um but they just don't have a large audience like it's hard to find
(2:48:53) that website like if you're just searching for Lego sets that's not going to come up on Google we have very different methods of finding places um so they they have all sets but they just don't have a lot of traffic so they they tend to have a lot of sets that are already retired that just haven't been purchased yet are you using a truffle piggy to help you 100% I don't know if you remember it's like the the extension that you showed me that like sniffs like you can put like any like keywords and it's GNA sniff out
(2:49:27) if any of that shows up on any of the website that you add I think I never used it but if you look at my screen right now you can see my trle Peggy for my Lego search right now okay so you're you're using it you're using it 100% this is this is a great way to search for Lego especially like retired sets CU you if you set up travel piggy you can set it up to search any site you want for whatever keyword you highlight so you just highlight whatever keyword so we just always highlight the the Lego number say we
(2:49:58) want to search this set and then I have a Lego search folder and these are all the websites that we search quite often for Lego sets so you can either click one individually or you can click the entire folder and it opens up all the websites at once and search for that keyword so you can see all the data at all the websites at one time as soon as it loads wow and and it um it's going to search for you or it's going to open only if they find it it'll it'll search it'll search every site regardless so you can see it just searches the key
(2:50:27) term and some of these sites are not in stock so it'll it'll search them all it just opens up all the tabs with that whatever keyword you have highlighted and so we can see for this particular set it's actually in stock at one of these sites for retail price $1999 and this is a this is a retired set so like this doesn't sell a whole lot on Amazon but it's available at retail at this site in one click you found it yep instead of do like one by one exactly yeah that's that's really powerful H why are you not uh I just
(2:50:59) noticed you don't have a top cash back in your extension amunition I believe I have it I just don't have it activated I think it just got too annoying for me hold on I think I have it one second oh yeah I I have it it's just not currently active uh it's in my list I have I have a large list of extensions just yeah I can believe that but yeah for anybody that is still around if you do do a lot of OA searching or searching for specific toys retired stuff or Lego sets highly recommend uh truffle piggy it's just a
(2:51:38) Chrome extension you can set up your own search functions for J which tool is there sorry I I missed that is is your tool oh this is just a tool you can find on the Chrome web store it's called truffle piggy you can just set up custom searches so you can uh set up folders or individual websites where it just searches highlighted keywords for you automatically or like when you when you click on it uh so yeah we we utilize it pretty heavy for toys funkos uh Legos stuff like that yeah it looks cool I just saw that
(2:52:15) yeah yep and it's completely it's completely free so it's a pretty nice tool by the way Jordan have you ever tried to change anything on the listing like in the detail page oh yeah were you successful sometimes not always so I don't really know what Amazon's process is whe whether they approve it or not like I've never tried to change something that's like brand registered as far as I know uh they're just like regular listings that regular people have listed from what I can see um and it seems like sometimes they
(2:52:48) approve it sometimes they don't and I don't really know their reasoning why they're supposed to review it and see if it's valid and they're supposed to be unbiased but I don't find that's the case whatsoever yeah I mean I think when the brand is registers it's pretty much a good game like it's impossible to change anything on the listing 100% yeah you will not be successful with those listings but even I mean even for brands that are uh uh um that aren't even this the the same brand that is s sold like the listing is completely a different
(2:53:22) like brand uh but it was registered with by some someone else uh Amazon can't help you right for that so yeah so I don't know if you ever Tred to yourself be like brand registered I have not company I not that is something I'm trying to explore uh because I have one supplier that I have like I mean pretty good relationship with uh and um I mean they don't really know what's up what's going on with on Amazon they know I'm selling on Amazon they're really happy about that and I was thinking that like maybe I could try to ask them to permission
(2:54:08) for the brand so I can like overwrite some of the listings because I mean I'm sure that I don't know if you you did that I'm sure you did it but just changing a little bit some stuff on listings that are already selling can pretty much uh help to get more sales I believe yeah like uh a better optimized listing for sure almost always is going to sell better like we have taken uh scenarios where like um there's listings that have just shitty pictures like it looks like somebody took like like took them on their bed or something like that
(2:54:42) and we we want to change that cuz that helps the listing or it's just like not good descriptions uh so doing it on listings that already sell I think is worth it because you can get more sales um in general like most listings I wouldn't bother like if it's already a good solid listing I probably wouldn't try to change it but if there are the shitty listings yeah we always try for those ones but we're not always successful okay interesting yeah yeah sometimes it's like like you said like a picture they took like in their B
(2:55:15) room and the Tyro is not even like something related to the product and selling like 100 units a month yeah which is ridiculous but or you see like random like bundles where it's like uh just an item which is like clearly not in a poly bag like it doesn't retail in a poly bag but somebody takes a picture of it in a poly bag it's like that's a super shitty picture yeah approve approves it yeah sometimes I'm not sure but how have you ever saw like listings without like um white background also with or without without white backgrounds yep
(2:55:54) like pretty like like you said like sketchy L yep it's not common on Amazon but I definitely come across them for sure and like if those are listings that we sell on which we have um I always try to update those pictures okay yeah yeah um what was I going to say I was going to say something I completely lost my train of thought where are you going on vacation uh I was kind of jealous of you when you went to Japan uh I I was I was considering either Japan or Thailand I I I actually went to Thailand uh in 2019 yep it's two different Vibes
(2:56:41) honestly it's uh like what what you like like I mean you're gonna like them both but um but I mean yeah it's two two different Vibes like one is more nature and you go to the islands to the beach and on the other hand uh Japan is more like uh for the food for uh I mean the technology there uh and I don't know if you're a fan of anime or Ramen Sushi um yeah it's a and they have like um a good uh amusement parks right uh and I mean I'm a fan of roller coasters and everything I went to Orlando did some uh some good roller coasters but Japan is
(2:57:29) on another level by the way there [ __ ] Japanese people are crazy yeah if you like high sensation feeling it's good for sure I I think either one would be pretty cool and like I do love like Japanese food and whatnot um I kind of am like one of those people who that like to almost put themselves in dangerous situations in the middle of nowhere so I think Thailand may be a better a better choice to go see if I can go get myself killed not intentionally but yeah be careful but I mean I never uh sense I was in danger
(2:58:06) like in Thailand but there's some it's I it's more dangerous than Japan for sure and also if you want to speak with I don't know if you have a girlfriend or not but you want to speak to to the opposite you don't really know which which sex you're talking to the lady boys oh yeah but no like I I would definitely I'd probably like if I go to like somewhere like Thailand I probably go solo and like I would definitely probably try to talk to locals and like you're like oh you want to come to our house to eat I'd be like yeah I'm I'm
(2:58:38) super down I I like doing stuff like that and I'm pretty sure that the they are they can you're going to see people that going to propose you that they're very um yeah they're very kind like population yeah for sure yeah a lot of people like they try to like avoid like local populations and stuff when they go places which I like intermingling with locals I think that's how you get like the the best experience when you go somewhere it's true 100% I mean the the the rule of th is never go to like a place where you see a lot of
(2:59:11) tourists because you know it's not that autic for sure like when I went to Italy in 201 I believe it was uh we spent a night at some random person's house like we just crashed on their couch and then like the the the next day like we probably had like the best day that we had in Rome because we got to see a bunch of stuff that most tourists do not go to and like just like hanging out in like local bars and local um restaurants and stuff it would have been something that like if you're following like a tour guide you definitely would not have
(2:59:42) done yeah 100% yeah you really live like an Italian yeah and like you're you're definitely at risk of getting raped or murdered but I think it's it's well worth it that's true you have to you have to you have to gauge the person before sleeping on his couch oh for sure you have to be a good judge character yeah or like sleep with one open eye I don't know yeah so yeah if I if I ever stop uh responding in the Discord or sending leads list you know that I probably I probably didn't make it send SOS on Discord I think all the
(3:00:22) community will come right away yeah how did you find the food honestly and Italy is amazing it's so good um but like so like the one day um like are you familiar with like Bretta like Canadian Bretta yeah yeah so like my experience with with Bretta was always like a mix of like tomatoes and like say like jalapenos and like additional like spices and stuff so I was like the one restaurant we went to I was like okay I'll order Bretta cuz like that sounds good just want like a light lunch and when I ordered it in Italy they brought
(3:00:57) me toast with uh a couple slices of tomatoes on it I'm like I'm not like yeah like that's all it was I think I think there might have been salt on it but like I'm not like a Big Tomato fan by itself I'm like oh this is not what I was expecting but I guess this is my lunch today but no like in general like their food was amazing yeah my sister did um I think this year or last year she did like uh France uh Spain and Italy and she told me like from a long mile Italy was had the best food yeah and like I'm not uh we went to
(3:01:30) a couple different places in Italy we went to uh Rome we went to Florence we went to we spent some time in Pompei uh we went to Capri and then we did some places in Greece as well um I'm not a big fan of like super large crowds and stuff but Rome was like super packed ridiculous amounts of tourist people everywhere but even with that being said I still loved it and I think that's a place if I wanted to move somewhere I think I'd probably move somewhere like Rome that's so nice that's interesting yeah do you know
(3:02:00) if they have Amazon there I think there's Amazon Italy I believe so I know there's Amazon Japan yeah if you want to there yeah yeah but but I think that that um in Japan uh rakuen may be stronger than Amazon it's like uh from what I heard Ron is like the same thing uh it's like the same thing as Amazon but in Japan interesting and I I didn't I didn't double check but people told me that Rockin is uh is like originated from Japan I did not know that yeah I didn't know that either huh I thought it was like European
(3:02:44) well like it used to be Ebates and then they switched to rakon or rakon bought them so yeah but I didn't double check the the I didn't fact check let's see just just just just talking just reading headlines yeah exactly here it says Rakuten was founded by Hiroshi M mikitani so I guess yeah this guy looks Japanese probably from some of the same people that like own like Nintendo or Toyota or something yeah 100% I mean Japanese people are extremely hard workers but uh I think that if you go there you can't really I don't know if
(3:03:23) you can buy your own house or something like they're very um uh like anti- anti-immigrant I think yeah a lot of a lot of foreign countries are like that like they're they're they do not cater to foreigners and they do not a lot of places I would say like they don't even like long-term foreigners in their countries I mean yeah it's not like Canada yeah yeah I've heard uh I've heard China is very similar like people are very China first and as a you can certainly live there as a foreigner but it's certainly not as
(3:04:02) easy yeah it's true yeah um I think in Japan like 99% of the population is are Japanese right and conversely like if you compare it to Canada I think it's like 70% or 60% something like that I think every year it it goes down yeah our our country is extremely diverse yeah yeah that's always I mean I love it because I we have like in Montreal we have like all the restaurant you want like I personally I'm a big fan of U Asian have [Music] like have you you're not the vegan are youan yeah I'm not I have a soor you're you're kind of cutting out
(3:04:55) sorry what did you say I'm sorry uh I'm not vegan but I have a friend that is vegan so yeah every time that we have to go out with him we have to like uh compromise for the restaurant have you ever been to or heard of Joe Beef I heard yeah I heard of it but actually um one of my friend is doing his birthday uh on Saturday and Jo beef was one of the like restaurant that maybe we wanted to go but he told me it's too expensive I heard I heard it's I heard it's amazing I have to try it but uh I tried some another restaurant called I don't
(3:05:33) know if you heard about gies I have not yeah in Montreal also but J is it only in Montreal I believe so I believe there's only one location yes oh okay okay and you went there no I haven't I I've never been to Montreal I've I've only came through Montreal like just like with flights but whenever I do come to Montreal that's one of the main places I want to go and why the reason why I want to go to Montreal yeah let's let's go if you come on day let I never went there but uh let's let's use our um credit card for business meal
(3:06:06) 100% that's the best that's the best way to use it yeah exactly but yeah I've heard I've heard it's really good and it's and it's quite an experience it's yeah it's uh it's nice that you know the place I think is it like a steakhous it's or Burger yeah like I think like they're they focus on like steaks and meats do you like um eating do you have like a preference anything that's good really I'm not picky very enough if it's if it's delicious I I will eat it yeah I mean I'm not too difficult as well cool so yeah does uh there's only a
(3:07:00) couple of us left uh we've had some people straggle out as we're having conversations uh anybody else have any other questions eBay e-commerce Amazon server related at all Jord yeah what's up yeah uh I don't know if it's too late for for you to ask for this but it's more of a keep a question I don't know if you have five minutes for sure yeah no it's just um when I'm looking at uh keeper charts um I'm usually always focused on the one year I'm wondering I'm seeing people like fields of profit and everybody and
(3:07:42) I even asked asked them this question on their live session just by curiosity and I asked them if they only look at the three month cuz they're always under three months but I'm like I said before I'm prudent and I just want to make sure that I'm doing good buys so but so far I'm using the one year I'm wondering how how do you analyze do you use the three months or do you use the one year or do you use both well let's pull up a product on Amazon let's take a look so we have our keep us Set uh default to the one year because I I always like to
(3:08:15) see what's going on like in general but then we always kind of we always kind of zoom in if we're going to dig deeper into a product right so like this is the Lego set that we just discussed earlier so like we can see right away that this product has a pretty shitty sales rank uh it doesn't look like it SS a whole lot so this probably would not be a product that we dig into deeper but we I always default to the one year because yes I like to see um how the product has been over the last year if we have any random spikes if if
(3:08:43) um we have random uh price inflations because like say if I'm looking at a product and I'm only looking at the three months say I have my keep uh set to only three months and we come across product like this where it looks like it's not selling at all uh but if I have it uh scanned out to the last one year maybe I see like back in like five months ago it was selling extremely well but it was priced you know $10 cheaper I like to find Opportunities like that so like I like there's nothing wrong with looking at the last three months but I
(3:09:14) think you do limit your potential if you only look at the last three months that's why I like to default to a year um but we make we make most of our buying decisions based on the last three months to one month worth of data okay because I'm seeing a lot of like seasonal Pro you know products and stuff like that so I guess that's why they're maybe focusing more on the three months right now but like I'm just afraid of you know in case a price you know a tank and you know I know I'm always looking at you know how there how much new offer
(3:09:48) counts just to make sure that you know there's not going up so I know that it's actually going to tank but I'm I'm looking everybody I was just curious what where's your take on it so that's pretty much yeah if you use the one year I'm I'm gonna keep using it so um but I'll pull up one of the products that like we shared for like a lead in the server here and we'll just take a quick look at this guy so let's not do a Lego set let's look at this guy here so I don't remember what the keeper chart looks like I'm just going to close
(3:10:20) some windows here I'll kind of like walk you through like what my thought process would be when I look at a product so like I I always try to filter out a product realistically as soon as possible because like if you're sourcing and like say you're spending like a like a four to 12 hour session just sourcing your job is to filter through all the [ __ ] as quickly as possible so I'm always trying to De qualify listing as quickly as possible so like we utilize sales rank just kind of as a initial filter we don't use it as our Beall uh
(3:10:54) be all end all um criteria we just look at sales rank as like our initial filter whether or not we're going to dig deeper into a product so typically speaking if a product is within if it's within like the top 1 to 3% we would typically spend time to look at the product a little bit more usually if it's outside of that criteria we probably won't even look at it there are certainly opportunities for products that are outside of that criteria that you can like maybe that they don't have any Amazon sellers that
(3:11:19) you can bring back and that is a viable business model but that's not something that we personally do for us we're typically wanting to just become part of listings that are already selling and just become part of that right so we look at that first and then obviously we make sure that it's profitable so like say this what did this cost us when we posted it here it was going to cost run us 1748 so we can see it has super super healthy margins so we make sure that's going to meet our requirements then we dig deeper we look at keepa and so when
(3:11:49) we look at this keepa chart it doesn't look very fantastic right like there's not a lot of drops happening it's only 33 days old uh according to according to seller app it only sells 10 times per month but I would never really pay attention to that so with this because I know that Canada can be iffy sometimes I would always look into the data tab kind of like shown on my videos and look at to by Prime and include historical offers and then I try to get a realistic feel for what other FBA sellers have been selling and we can see something
(3:12:21) that's interesting here like it looks like this seller here looks like they may have sold 47 units in a one- Monon period so it may be that this item that we see here we're not seeing the full picture just from looking at keepa and so I may want to just double check to see if this seller is us-based to make sure that that that inventory is not being sold sold on the US listing so if I wanted to do that and again if I'm going too deep if I'm going too much on tangents let me know this just stuff that I do every
(3:12:51) day um I would switch their storefront from.ca tocom just to see if they're us-based or Canadian based and you can then see their address so like these guys are in I don't know where TR is that could be turkey so I would actually look at their inventory in Canada if they have any active inventory so I'll look at their storefront yeah they don't have any active inventory so I may be iffy about this specific product because they may have had it in a Us warehouse so with this item if I were to purchase this item I would ensure that
(3:13:25) one I have the capital to do it two I would make sure it makes sense that like the the last selling price so it looks like it was selling at like maybe like 37 to like $39 so say I'm going to sell us at like say $37 still profitable at that price it would probably meet my requirements then if I had the capital I'd probably just send in a handful of units just to make sure that I had actual uh Data before I started going deeper into this guy and before I leave I just have a last question because I have to leave
(3:13:56) right now for sure but do you for when you're sourcing are you mainly using uh tactical Arbitrage or are you basically just using like Keo product finder uh we rarely use ta nowadays uh we still do utilize it uh but I cut down our accounts from four accounts to two uh we do a lot of manual sourcing storefront stocking uh going on websites like stock track manual looking up products keep a product finder basically anything and everything you can think of I think if you limit yourself um you're going to have a lot harder time finding products
(3:14:30) if you get proficient in a lot more methods it's going to become a lot easier to find viable products but you I would recommend only kind of like learning one or two methods at a time and getting really proficient in them before you try take on something else because they can get overwhelming okay cuz the reason because me I've mainly used just Keo just to find my products with the keepo product finder but now I'm just trying to use the Tactical Arbitrage but but uh I'm pretty much I watch your videos and I I probably
(3:15:00) thought that's what you were using but I think probably just you doing manual search searching just because I'm a beginner you know I probably would be the best bet before I go too deep yeah like ta ta can still be viable like I with the changes that they've made recently it's not as viable as it used to be uh you can still find a lot of good stuff in there but it's definitely a learning curve and you're going to get a lot of [ __ ] items produced so you have to learn how to filter through them relatively quickly yeah all right so I want over
(3:15:34) your your YouTube video as well because the thing is is I mean I've saw a clear the Shelf he has specific setting and I saw your uh video and you had specific settings as well but I figured your settings were probably better for me because the Canadian for sure and like most of the stuff that I learned about ta I learned from Chris Grant clear the Shelf uh super good resource you can learn a ton from there but yeah like I adapted ours to the Canadian Market but I find that the less filters the less filters you
(3:16:11) use on ta the better yeah no no for sure cuz cuz I was using a bunch of filters when I started especially when I when I started with looking at the fields of profit he used a lot of of filters and and I was getting you know not good results and now since I'm I've been you know using like just a couple I've I've been getting more good results but then again I'm I'm pretty much finding better uh I'm sourcing better just using keep alone so I'm probably just going to continue that route and probably just leave technical over D just for later
(3:16:48) because I don't know I'm I'm more comfortable just keep alone it's I don't know if that's normal or yeah like once you get comfortable with method for sure that's that's I think it's very common for you to uh can you guys hear me yeah I can hear I can hear you Robert sorry I wanted to go ahead sorry I just to test my mic because I tried speak but uh I think it oh no problem like I it's it kind of sounds like you're cutting out a little bit but I I can hear you here and there um but yeah like with ta like I think I think it's relatively normal to
(3:17:27) um kind of fall into certain ways of sourcing and and that's fine like especially when you're when you're learning and trying to get proficient with it but I find like once you feel like you've kind of mastered it in your opinion then that's when you should start trying other methods and try them more intently and more seriously not just like oh spend like a couple hours with it don't find anything give up actually really try to learn them and try to like actively do it like at least like an hour or so per day because once
(3:17:52) you find those additional methods uh once you start putting them all together it becomes so much easier to find products like I know a lot of people when they first start out it takes a long time just find one viable product with myself because I've been doing it so long and I've had to teach so many people how to do it because I have a VA team and we have a leas less company um I've been required to up my sourcing skills now like I can find dozens of products in an hour like it's once you combine them all together it becomes so
(3:18:23) much easier makes sense yeah yeah I I heard you briefly there Robert can you hear me yep sorry uh I just wanted to ask green uh have you looked into uh uh checking how to use uh um seller amp or ref seller uh right right now I'm I'm just using seller amp i' I've not used uh ref solar okay it's the it's basically the same thing yeah personally is it okay yeah it's the same thing but I heard that ref seller is a little bit cheaper but I I never tried it personally because uh I'm already subscribed for one year seller amp um
(3:19:12) but yeah honestly like Jordan said um especially with seller amp once you find like one lead then it becomes like a spider web because this one lead is going to uh find you like more Sellers and these same these more sellers have more products so more storefront to look up to look U to look up to uh and also something on seller amp maybe you didn't know um I I believe believe that the products that you're seeing on the storefront are ranked for like the best seller to the worst seller so sometimes when you look
(3:19:52) into a storefront if you don't see like any profitable products in the first 20 to 30 units uh product maybe it's a good sign to just don't uh continue Source on this seller and switch to another one okay all right problem OB experimenting like but uh no I'm I'm just going to CU the thing is is when I'm sourcing I'm always trying to find leaves that you know that doesn't have Amazon and stuff like that but uh no um I'm I'm I'm I'm trying to see you know like sometimes Amazon is in stock and some sometimes they're not in stock and
(3:20:33) you know like they're sometime they they're they're not in stock they're in stuck like specific times but every time they're not in stuck they Spike up so I'm also trying to see if those uh products there are profitable as well you know so um I'm I'm pretty much experimenting all all all types of strategies but no pretty much everything I'm sourcing is pretty much everything that's Amazon is not inst stocked so with that like I I think that's fine especially for a new seller but eventually um don't forever discount uh
(3:21:07) listings that Amazon is on um right now it's probably fine but if eventually when you start looking at listings uh some listings that Amazon are on can be very viable you you just want to make sure that they obviously when they are in stock that it's still profitable for you and that they actively share the buy box if they do a lot of those listings can be very viable very long term because a lot of sellers will actively avoid listings that happens Amazon right um but if there's evidence that they share the buy box they can be very
(3:21:36) long-term viable products yeah no exactly when you see buyb statistics that that I know that I'm I'm always checking to make sure because sometimes they do Amazon sometimes they do Aug this the buy bugs but sometimes they do share it so I'm pretty much always on the lookout for those there but I know there's some listing that they don't share the buy bcks at all so 100 100% And just like like lastly if you haven't already I would recommend uh going into like ca Amazon lead channel that we have and I would you could probably buy some of
(3:22:10) those products directly from there and probably be viable but I recommend looking at some of those products that we have in there and then do some additional Rabbit Hole sourcing off those products so look at the sellers that are on those listings right now start looking through their products look at other products from that brand or look at other products that that store has on sale like if a specific item is on sale and you start going down these rabbit holes and chances are you can probably find a ton of additional
(3:22:32) viable products that way so you mean on on the Discord we're right now or is that that what you mean yeah so under the uh under the Amazon category there's a couple of channels that have Amazon leads in them so there's CA Amazon leads there's CA to us Amazon leads and US Amazon leads so look at look at the ca Amazon leads channel so these are products that we posted when they were posted they were viable um they were profitable so you can probably find some products just to sell just like that but also open those
(3:23:04) products look at the sellers on those products look through their storefronts via seller amp and then also look up other products from those brands and you you once you start going down those rabbit holes you can probably start finding a lot of additional stuff okay okay no that's going to be yeah no no for sure okay I'll I'll definitely take a look into that channel and do some uh some reverse uh some reverse sourcing definitely because yeah like I find that the process that we find the most products with is doing
(3:23:39) that reverse sourcing that rapid whole method right right where you find one product and you start just going down that rabbit hole for additional products from that brand from additional products from those sellers we find way more stuff when we do that versus any other method all right no problem all right Jordan it's getting late for me I have to get up early tomorrow so uh thank you so much for for the uh for everything you do 100% and I appreciate you coming out and attending all right have a good night
(3:24:11) you too take care right thanks M bye see you bye I will be heading out uh right now as well I got to feed my dogs and get back to work so uh I appreciate you taking the time and spending the time here Robert
